I gotta say as a awesome as the Highlands are and its nice how accessible they are from the south and that there is still plenty of people. The best riding Ive done so far was up In north Bay, Mattawa and north of there up towards Timmins.
i'm in owen sound and this will be my first year sledding .. i want to explore lots of trails and areas. getting a week off each month plus 5 weeks holidays should be helpful ;) nice video "sub"
Still really love riding up in Mountain and Lake Wood WI. Had a really shit winter this year, but got the most riding we could. Ya, I took a couple off days of school...
How do you talk of trails in Ontario being wide and fast, when the speed limit there on the trails is 50 KPH-30MPH? And they are patrolled by Canadian police waiting ticket anyone that is over 30 KPH.
ontario used to be fun but seems to get worse. back in the day we had the ski doo trails but with lack of support and funding in my town and area thats now all gone. Jobbers have also moved in buying land that people used to skidoo on now riding there is trespassing. other than in town roads theres not many places to ski doo anymore which is fucking sad for a small ass town.
Its too bad this diversity didnt really exist 20 years ago when snowmobilling was affordable. Now......its a rich mans sport. Sad. $25,000 plus for a sled Plus insurance Plus regrestration Plus $360 trail pass Plus feul Plus accessories Plus gear Like i said. Rich mans sport
People love to spend their money, we are all addicted to something. For myself and many others we are addicting to something called snowmobiling. Its all about sacrificing for most, "did I really need that meal out?", "Do I really need that pack of cigarettes?". Passing on many things allows so many to be able to enjoy the sport of snowmobiling and the lifestyle that comes along with it. I don't know what I would do without this sport. As an 18 year old "Kid" I understand already what it takes to be able to afford the things I want, that being snowmobiling. Although I was helped into the sport at a very young age, I wake up every morning during the summer to go to my student-waged job before the sun rises just so when winter comes I can enjoy the sport of snowmobiling. I love the province of Ontario and seeing it from the seat of a snowmobile is the best feeling in the world. So no it is not a rich mans sport, It just takes a lot of sacrifice and hard-work to be able to enjoy the things we love in life. Thanks for the input but as an 18 year old Who just purchased my first brand new sled I find it insulting you think only the rich are able to enjoy this sport. See you on the trails.
When your in your 40s and you dont have a disposable income i want you to re analize your post. When youve got a mortgage kids and loans Mastercard etc......all of a sudden you realize you just cant afford that extra thousands to do the sport you would die for.
You always pay if you want the latest and greatest my man. But you can run it cheap. Buy an old sled, get a classic trail pass on the cheap and still have a blast. Not going to argue about gas though. Thats for Ontario thought.
Darrren Betker 2500? Both Polaris trail Indy and some Ski Doo model are brand new and definitely under 9 thousand US the most, maybe cheaper . Brand new and not clunkers, great bang for you buck. But it is an expensive activity nonetheless.
I haven’t spent half that amount in the last 5 years! Yes, if you want the newest, latest and greatest it’s pricy, but you can certainly enjoy the sport without breakfast no the bank.
99 percent of all sledders dont drive as fast as you guys portray. Advocating running a lake at 100 miles per hour is lunacy. You guys need to dial back your speeds because its not realistic. What it is is dangerous. Stop it.
I like how she said we need to do this just so we don’t go crazy. Snowmobiling is like a spiritual cleansing for me, a sabbatical.

You're not kidding it was bad in Wisconsin last winter. Even the u.p. was marginal. 800 miles for the season, it's usually close to double that.
This fucking winter is gonna be lit tho. Thats what their reporting.
Hope so! I bought a new El tigre this year!
