Scotty. I have a Cadillac 1996 SLS. It's leaking transmission fluid on the passenger side. Only leaking when driving. Could it be the output shaft seal on that side? I know the 4T80E has issues with drivers side output shaft seals. But mine is pouring out when driving from the passenger side area by the axle shaft into transfer case.

I replaced the seal in My 01 focus automatic on the driver side. I had to use a special tool, it wouldn't go on without it. It's still leaking when I drive, not as bad. But still leaking. The seal I have has a spring on the back. I researched before installing, & a trick was putting grease around that spring to prevent it from popping out of place, while tapping in. I forgot to put the grease over/around the spring. Could this be why it's still leaking? It started leaking after replacing the cv axle. The old one was worn out the broken

I have a 2010 Nissan Altima. Seems the car had front end crash before I purchased it. The axle was recently changed and transmission fluid started leaking out. The old seal used I couldn’t find at any auto part store. Finally went to Napa and got something equivalent to the old seal but it seems the mechanic is saying due to the damage on the car that; that part of the transmission is way bigger than it’s suppose to be for a seal, he could be wrong but any suggestions? Or do we try different transmission seals until we see what fits?
Keep in mind this was not leaking prior to the axle change

Looks so easy. Last time I had to pull the shaft I had to have it pressed out of the wheel. Took 10 tons of pressure !

Well he's been a mechanic for 46 years lol. When working on cars that long you can do anything because it takes about 5-10 to become a great mechanic and fully understand everything in and out when working on a car. The more experience you get working in a shop, the more you're going to understand better. From you're mistakes and from all the training you have working on cars.
