It's a really great dialogue, thank you. I stopped weight sorting brass many years ago. I do however, weight sort my primers and my bullets. These are things I know for sure affect consistency throughout my own tests.

    Love the brass catcher
I have found quality brass weighs close.
Remington and PMC have wide range of weights.
Weighing Lapua brass is a waste of time.
    Weighing Remington brass pays off.

Haha thanks on the brass catcher! It actually works pretty well for single feeding rounds!
I could not see that weighing my Remington brass did anything for my groups.

One group isn't nearly enough to determine any trends. Sample size is way too small. Want to see what a difference weight sorting brass makes? Mix and match weights. Shoot ONE ten shot group with 5 of each weight and then see what you get.

It definitely makes a difference even though it is often a small difference. I honestly say when I was weighing brass you put the brass in order lightest to heaviest in order in your box and shoot them in order closer in weight than your sample. It is tedious and time consuming but if you are looking to get the tightest group possible you will. The same thing with bullets. But if you have a good manufacturer as you do with Berger bullets, or Sierra they don't need to be weighted because they have tight tolerances and will not have any major differences. Every little thing can shave an eighth of an inch difference in a group. If you want to try and put them all in the same hole you need to do it all. Personally I just make good hunting ammo any more and just go for under an inch at 100 yards for most my hunting loads but the smaller calibers do much tighter than that.

I challenge you to load a 7 shot group the way you described, then load another 7 shot group and don’t weigh the brass or bullets and see the results. You might be surprised

Were the velocities for 89 suppose to be in the 2900's not the 2800's? Did you right those down wrong?
