Henri (my singing partner) is seeing her next NIGHTWISH performance.
This time it's storytime, one of my faves so far.
This performance is just BOMB, and we had such a great time watching this together.

It’s so cool that Floor only had been with the band a few months here. She was not even their official singer yet. Love how Tuomas and Emppu is smiling throughout their performance, like ”Yup, this is how we sound like now” 🙂

10 months. It's not long but it's more then a "few months".
I'm not picking on you Patrick, but this is a thing that a LOT of fans believe and it's not quite accurate. She was with them 10 months at this point, and she and Troy had been invited to join Nightwish just before this performance, but they had not officially announced it yet. The way I see this whole show is that everyone is great, but it feels a bit like Floor is demonstrating why they made the right decision because she just crushes every song.
3 months, 10 months, I think you are right. It was only recently that she was with the band and she did a fantastic job. I don't understand why people react so childishly to be exactly right. Thumbs up from me
The best and most brutal windmills in the business (Tuomas runs a close second). Nobody commands a stage like the Goddess.
I love the shots of Tuomas in Weak Fantasy at Tampere. The shaky cam adds a little extra intensity haha
Floor claims the stage like Freddie Mercury, Ronnie James Dio and others of the greatest frontmen in history. I can't think of a woman coming close to her, maybe Debbie Harry or Ann Wilson come halfway close.

Smiles all around. Infectious. Just watching a full concert online, at the end, I am so happy. My face hurts from smiling, my eyes are cleansed from crying, my emotions are at a peak high. Been thru a lot in my 73 years on this rock and finding Nightwish 6 weeks ago has made the joy and pain of life more delicious, if that makes sense.
Floor is such a genuine storyteller within her incredible performance! Stage presence because she started singing with After Forever at age 16 and she said she immediately felt relaxed and at home on the stage like she belonged there. I think she absolutely does belong on stage. Peter Pan was mentioned a lot but there was also a reference to Alice as in Alice in Wonderland. "Follow the madness that Alice once did." Next song either "Song Of Myself."
Stage presence has nothing to do with age or experience it's a natural gift you have or don't have... Floor got charisma for ages.

It's so much fun to watch you showing these Nightwish videos to Henriette. - Yes, Floor's stage presence is amazing. There is something infinitely fascinating about Floor, enchantment, personal charm or something. You just can’t move your eyes away from her whether she’s singing, talking or just sitting still. More please.
I absolutely loved that you guys noticed relaxed the whole band is while performing. For a guy who has seen Nightwish live about 15 times (duh, i'm finnish after all) i absolutely love how all the band is smiling and enjoying what they do on stage. It's always awesome to see someone enjoying their work, whatever work that is.
Miming the lyrics is most likely Tuomas. If Marko (the bassist) wants to sing, he has his own mic for it. But Tuomas does not want to be heard, yet he often vibes with the songs by singing along. He's the one who wrote the lines, after all, and he *can* sing. He was the sole male singer in the band before Marko joined and you can hear him on the very first Nightwish albums. He's just.. too introverted, he does not want to bring attention to himself so he stopped it as soon as he got someone else to do it.
Discussion is not even necessary. The smile ear to ear says more than a trilogy of novels could. And I think this is why I'm liking Nightwish, as I'm pretty new as well. There is such joy everywhere around: the crowd, the band, the reactions, Floor for sure. This is not what I normally come to metal for, but it seems inescapable here. Pure joy and fun. I love it.

The entire show is orchestrated, designed and created for the audience and maximum joy.

That, btw, is the song that introduced me to the group and I just bought my first series of Nightwish albums - end of an era (full loadout - vinyl, bluray, dvd) and Showtime Storytime. Amazing group of musicians.

Or "Weak Fantasy" Tampere 2015, or "The Phantom of the Opera" Helsinki 2005 with Tarja, (her vocal style is operatic in general), the original female lead vocalist of Nightwish, and Marko, the bassist, as The Phantom. Or, or, or, there are so many good ones to choose from.

One item you may not know about this song. The choir you constantly hear in the background is the London Symphony Orchestra's Children's Choir. The Nightwish Founder has a contract with the LSO and its Adult Choir can be heard on other songs in this concert.

Floor is the whole package. That is what makes her the best singer in the world today. She puts smiles on peoples faces exactly like the ones you had for the full performance. Love watching you two because it takes me back to when I first heard Nightwish. People like you reaffirm that she and Nightwish are everything that is being said about them and more. The greatest band and singer in the world and so many people have never even heard of them. What a shame although we are trying to fix that.

Don't know if you knew about this, but Floor was recovering from burnout when she accepted the mission of filling in for Anette in 2012. This concert, 10 months later, was the 3rd to last in their Imaginaerum World Tour and you see the end result of the love, the energy, the band and the crew's acceptance of her as a person and singer, but most of all it was the welcome and love from the fans and the positive vibes she received from them that gave her the confidence to find herself again and put her fears and insecurities away for good.
She has a God given gift, and everyone that's withing distance of her voice will acknowledge that. The fans sure did.

There were two more after this one, first the Alcatraz festival in Belgium on the 10th (a week after this) and the last being M'era Luna the following day at Hildesheim, the 11th August 2013.
That was also the first hint the fans got that Floor would be staying (although many had guessed), as when they were thanking everyone and introducing the "Last Ride Of The Tour" Floor said that after 10 months it was going to be difficult to have it come to an end, and Marco said that she may be staying around a bit longer.
But yes, Floor said herself that if she'd had the call a month earlier, she would not have felt able to accept (she had just returned to studio work and completed the recording of her 2nd album with her own band, ReVamp), so she and Nightwish rescued each other, fought through the difficulties of a mid-tour lead vocalist change together, and emerged stronger than ever. Both Floor and the rest of the band later described her arrival in Nightwish as a homecoming.
Her ReVamp album was released just after the tour, following which she and Troy were announced as permanent members of Nightwish on the 9th of October.

During this tour videos of the crowd chanting Floor, Floor, Floor.. is so satisfying... Makes me feel proud Nightwish made her a permanent member of the band.
I love watching you and Henri react to Nightwish. It's so fun sharing Nightwish with friends, and I watch Henri for the joy of seeing and hearing for the first time and you for the joy of sharing this beauty and magnificance with you friend. Thank you for sharing this with me. If I were you, I would show Henri "Song of Myself" from Wacken 2013. But really, you can't go wrong with anything. "Dead Boy's Poem" from Buenos Aires would be good to get a different flavor of Nightwish and you would be well advised to see something with Marko singing, say "Ghost River" from Wacken 2013, "The Islander" from Tampere 2015 (?), or even "High Hopes" from the End of an Era concert. It might be good to see something with Tarja before you do Poet with her, just so she can get the flavor of why Poet was such an important composition for Tuomas. "Wishmaster" is the song I most associate with Tarja, but I also love "Phantom of the Opera" from End of an Era.
I love the stunned look on Henri’s face when Floor was singing the bridge. Annette never vocalized that part when the album was recorded. 😁😉
Chorus lyrics: I am the voice of Never-Never-Land, but because Floor is Dutch she should sing I am the voice of Nether-Nether-Lands. :-)

Where much music (metal or other) is formulatic (guitar riffs and drum solos etc.) Nightwish is anything but. Everyone does what is needed without having to be the “star”. Floor may be the front person and perceived as the star but she totally realizes and appreciates that it is the presence of all of them performing together at the very highest level that creates the Nightwish vibe and excellence.
The juxtaposition of her insane range and presence and this bands hard hitting insane talent is incredible

This is a song that brings out smiles and that's exactly what it did, Henri was really smiling and you Sabina also but you had seen and heard it before so not quite as big a smile as Henri. It makes you feel good, it deserves a big AWESOME \m/ \m/
you should look into Marco's vocals as well he has such a talent. Songs like while your lips are still red and the islander which more delicate. Other songs like High hopes and Phantom of the opera are so good as well.
With songs like this, I remind myself that at this point Floor was a temp replacement singer for the band, singing Tarja and Annette's songs, and she had no Nightwish songs of her own. But along the way, that evening, she made it clear that really, *every* song is really her song. Great job, ladies! 🤘🤘

@sabina, The whole Wacken 2013 concert is epic. Definitely the Greatest Show on Earth live in Tampere and the Poet and the Pendulum live in Wembley ( I recommend you research the story behind this song beforehand). You would definitely enjoy How’s the Heart acoustic version. But in reality you can’t go wrong with any of their songs. Their catalogue is impressive and vast.Your reactions are very enjoyable to watch.🤟✌️🇨🇦

But if you do that please show her the version from Tampere 2015, you did the Wembly indoor version i think, Tampere is an outdoor Conzert, for me and many others "The greatest show on earth" from this conzert is the best version, because they can do things outdoor they couldn't do indoor, if you see it you know what i mean. I'd like to recommend a few other Nightwish songs to share with Henri :
The Islander, live at Tampere;
Yours Is an Empty Hope (I don't know which is the best live version, but I'm sure a good one will be top of the list in a CZcams search!);
Phantom of the Opera, the duet between Marko and Tarja (this would be maybe 2004 or 2005);
And Sleeping Sun, which is a long-time favourite of mine, and shows a different side to Tuomas's songwriting.

Did not know before myself, but a few days ago, some songs from Tuomas popped up in my youtube notifications. "Music Inspired By The Life and Times of Scrooge" from 2014. Try out "A Lifetime of Adventure" and "The last Sled", sung by his wife Johanna Kurkela.
