Xerjoff 40 Knots - real world fragrance review

  • In this video, I review Xerjoff 40 Knots, an exquisite fragrance inspired by the luxurious lifestyle of yacht sailing. 40 Knots is meant to capture the essence of the sea with its mesmerizing blend clean musks and woody undertones. This fragrance opens with a burst of freshness, leading into a heart of florals, and finishes with a rich base of cedarwood and musk. I'll share my thoughts on its longevity, sillage, and how it develops on the skin, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in adding a touch of maritime elegance to their collection.

💯 Agree with your take on 40 Knots I ordered a sample of this looking for a marine aquatic, and what I smelled was Baby powder, with a Champagne opening over a base of heavy Amber.
I don't find anything really Aquatic, or Marine in this fragrance and don't even think it's that mass appealing I don't see guys 25 or under wanting to wear this. If you're looking for niche Aquatic go for Acqua Viva profumum Roma, Sel Marin, BDK Citrus Riviera, or Zoologist Squid.

The problem i see with all the Xerjoff is that there is minimal to no evolution at all (which is what makes them boring after a while) and they all sit on a sweet drydown which is what makes them last fairly long.
I was very enthusiast about Torino 21 (i still think it's the best of the brand) but even though it's a very fresh scent, it becomes "heavy" during the day, dull perhaps. This heavyness also reflects in the medium/minimal projection in many, like Naxos (very minimal) or Alexandria and Opera.
I don't think i'm going to buy more of them, unless they come out with a very interesting cologne, which is very unlikely i think. Xerjoff looks more like a royal mantle, it seems luxurious but it's actually heavy and dusty.

Excellent review. Big fan of sampling fragrances completely blind too, without knowing what it is or how its packaged. I'm a bit up in the air about the brand myself. If they put the same fragrances in stock bottles and generic cardboard boxes, I'd be willing to consider them at an 80% discount. 😄 Mind, I have a few cheapies from middle eastern brands - that could also technically be considered niche - that blow designer presentations out of the water too. Names and clout mean very little to me, hence the blind sampling. Always love getting your take Dan. Your channel has quickly become one of my current favourites. 💙
