Really happy to see Maya playing her 🎻
I am sure your new neighbors are very happy you are not a bag piper.
Fiddler on the roof. Or yard, as it were…:)
Such sweet music at the end!
How beautiful did MC2 look in the sunshine!! She was transformed. And to those anonymous yet amazingly generous and loving friends on the farm, you guys are legends. Thankyou for all you have done for the kids. Thanks again for another great insight into your journey guys. Also the violin at the end was enchanting 👍🙏❤️.
Especially the insides! All the surfaces looked nice before, but seeing those in sunlight.. oh wow, just stunningly nice job.
I don't know about you, but I quite teared up as she emerged from the shed! OMG - the mast, the mast! Aladino looks numb... too many hours of last minute work! Yup, happy tears - big hug. Totally get the need for privacy - it's your life, not a movie ( even if your amazing editing makes it look so ). MCII gets more magic every time we see her - daylight in the saloon, how lovely.
Totally teared up, so proud for these folks I don't know, but so ardently believe in.
So good to see Maya happy in Canada and playing the 🎻 again❤❤❤
I’ve missed your fiddle in the videos. This felt like a beginning of the next book in a series. Thank you for sharing 💜
Honest comment my friend, but Maya is a classical violinist, not a fiddler.
@@billygraham3120 in fact, I am definitely a fiddler -- I haven't touched any classical music since I was about 15 haha!
Fiddle, FIDDLE! I love the fiddle. Playing some good ole down home music. Oh, sorry. You meant the violin. just kidding.
@@josephjacobson5369 Joseph, I so agree. My foot won't stop tapping to a great Cajun fiddle tune. When I hear it I must dance.
@@SailingMagicCarpetMaya, so cool, based on your beautiful outfits when you played, I immediately mistook you for the sophisticated concert hall type auditioning for the VSO.
So glad U R just one of us. I was going to pour U a glass of Cab. Now you get a real Canadian beer instead. Promise me next video will be a Cajun tune in the style of. "Let the good times roll" . In Cajun French, which I wish I spoke it is. "Laissez les bons temp router"
Nice to see the transport passed without issues at the border. And Magic Carpet arrived in one shiny piece !
Piece?
@@bevtrue6937 yep 🫣
I found myself getting emotional as she left her berth! Huge thanks for the family that let you use the pole barn and into their lives! Seeing you with your violin caught me smiling from ear to ear! I took a couple of deep cleansing breaths and found myself relaxing and enjoying! I think I have missed your playing as much as you have missed playing it for us! Enjoy your much deserved break!
Stay safe you two!
You deserve a rest … what a beautiful channel. Congrats on move. Thanks Dad for the help. 🇨🇦 ❤
Thanks for the music, it was a wonderful surprise and beautiful!
Seeing her interior light up in the sunshine was exquisite! She’s a beauty for sure
Thank you! Yes, it was really exciting to see her with some natural light :)
I started watching this channel 3 years ago for the sailing/travel content. I stayed for the incredible film making skills that both of you have developed and grown. Maya your ability to tell a story, write a "script", set the pace for each episode is inspiring. You have developed this style of allowing the audience to breathe and reset with your establishing shots, giving us a sense of place. Your use of music and sound design pull us right into the scene. I know how skilled you both are at sailing, carpentry, music, cooking etc, but I am so truly impressed with how far you have come with your film making! What inspires you in the film making sense, any books, youtube series, films, etc?
Wholeheartedly agree!
Ooh MacDougall's Pride - I remember it from Ashley MacIssac's "Hi, How are you today" album - Excellently played. We need more of this: Orbital sanders, Thickness planers and Routers sound great, but they're all in the key of B/Bb (60Hz) 😉
Continue the march! Repeatedly impressed with Aledino's logical and organized process. I suspect he would have been successful in ANY vocation that interested him. I think he could even learn to drive a car! ;-)
That felt like a release and a new start. How appropriate to break out your instrument. So happy to see you hit this milestone. I predict fairer winds ahead. Oh, and more music.
You have to be so happy to be in the boat in the sun! I can't believe how amazing the inside looks with sunshine coming through the port lights. We all knew it would, but to see it is amazing. This has to be really good for your souls. I can't wait to see it all done. You guys are doing great.
I thought so too! It looks like a different boat.
What an episode! The boat...the light...the truck...the tears...the violin...you both!
Greetings and love from the Netherlands.
I once was a person who scrolled through videos to get to good bits. Your videos have taught me it's about the journey. I apply this to other channels and even life now. It's all about the journey and your journey with this boat is beautiful. Thank you.
All I want to say is. She is already a beautiful boat. Once finished the beautiful boat will be magnificent.
I don`t know why but your Violin brought me to tears..... I think it is because I adore your story..... The Book is going to be a Best Seller...... I do hope you have Hundreds of Chapters to come...... :-)) xxx
Yay, the violin! ;) Glad everything went smoothly for you. 8)
TAKE A VACATION AND RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES, WHEN YOU RETURN EVERYTHING WILL BE EASIER. GREETINGS FROM BRAZIL
Watching “Magic Carpet” sail through the golden green field and onto the highway to O Canada was a heartwarming milestone☮️♥️
Thanks for bringing out your violin. It's been to long since you played for us...
What a relief for all who follow your unique journey with Magic Carpet 2 to see her arrive safely. I so like it when you add a classical touch to your broadcasts. It truly distinguishes you from others. It is a great skill to be able to offer your followers. I wish you well for a hard earned return on Magic Carpet 1. I am absolutely in awe of the finish that you have both produced. Well done ❤😊
Thank you so much Neil!
She has beautiful lines!
Thank you!
What a difference actual sunlight inside the boat makes!
I have watched many of your episodes and I am full of admiration. Aladino's immaculate, obsessional, professional workmanship. He is amazing. Maya's loyalty, love for Aladino and immense support to the project even though, some of the time although it was not really something she was keen to do she showed great strength of character and worked very hard and with pride in the finished job. I loved seeing her unexpectedly back playing her violin with an appropriate haunting tune. Enjoy your break and holiday.
She's sooo beautiful. Even when not fully ready.
Time for a well deserved break and a holiday. It is always strange, and somewhat scary, watching your boat go down the road on a trailer - especially one that you have put so much of your sweat and soul into. She seems to be in a good place, and sealed up well enough that your can relax while you are at home and overseas during this time out from boatbuilding. Maya, that piece at end was so well played - one of your best ever on this channel, and so fitting. Welcome back to Canada!!!
Aladino, is there ANYTHING you can't do????
My anxiety levels have just gone down. And soothed by the return of the violin. Wonderful.
Yay! Love the new spot! Great to see MC2 in the sun, and awesome to hear the fiddle again!
Everybody else in the yard will be blessed to have so talented a violin player in their midst. God bless.
Aw thanks Chris :)
Beautiful Maya is a sensitive and strong person. Who wouldn’t love to be her friend. Aladino really hit the jackpot.
Thanks again guy's for taking my mind off my problems for a lil bit
How beautiful she’s turned out due to both of you amazing skills in both cabinetmaking, shipwright skills and of course layout 👍🏻😍
Once upon a time I followed a girl who bought a boat for a dollar.. I lost you on a canal in France... but found you again for this project. I wish you good wind
Crikey, i remember when you bought your boat. You have both brought a massive smile to my face. Thank you, thank you. Sail away. ❤❤❤❤
Wow moving that boat was really something. Having all the weight at the back of the trailer adds more complexity to transporting It!
You two should be proud of what you have achieved, Maya you don’t get enough credit for how far you’ve come as a boat builder. Aladino would be tough for just about anyone to compare themselves to. The guy just knows his stuff and works at such a steady strong pace it’s amazing.
Dear Sailing Magic Carpet couple.
👍👌👏 2) I wish you two the best holidays, adventures, recovery and relaxation with Magic Carpet 1. I also wish you that you are able to sell this beautiful sail boat for a really good price and to a worthy new owner who appreciates all the great work that has gone into MC1. I also wish you to fully upload your batteries and uplift your spirits. Of course I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the next video.
As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
Thank you for making my Monday morning commute so much fun 😊. Wonderful to hear you play some music again.
Aladino almost had me spitting out my morning tea saying "soggy noodle"😂
Congratulations on closing the old chapter and opening the new one. I look forward to splashing day.
Magic carpet 2 is on the move after three years, awesome to see . As for the violin, beautiful.
It was great to see MC2 made it to its new home safely and it certainly would have been emotional seeing her go and saying goodbye. The yard looks huge with lots going on. I only hope you can complete your refit without too much hassle with dirt and rubbish in the air upsetting your finishing work. Nice to have a container/workshop Aladino as one needs somewhere to do off the boat work. Finishing this video with a nice solo piece was great Mayo. Thankyou Ian New Zealand
Maya, your music is as graceful as MC2 leaving Washington state. Love you guys, enjoy a much needed voyage to Sweden and we hope MC sells as well.
Beautiful to see your Masterpiece in Progress, loaded and progressing up the road to "OH, Canada, we stand on gaurd. . ." ( You know the rest🙃). I feel the same tears of joy. Huge moment!
You guys are so likeable! 😊💯 And just wonderful to hear Maya playing her violin again, so moving! 👍🙏 Much love from Denmark 🇩🇰🇺🇦
So happy and relieved that you are past the move! It’s lovely to see her in the sunlight and to see the interior with sunlight coming through her port lights!
Its wonderful to see Maya looking so happy and you now have a wonderfully safe staircase when working on the boat.
Enjoy your well earned break - looking forward to seeing further adventures 🙂
Welcome MCII to BC🇨🇦 The daylight flooding the interior cabin is stunning!
Just wanted to say that this boat has such nice lines and curves! Beautiful!!!!
"There is a magic inherent in every new beginning" ......... Go Canada Go! All the best from Germany -- H.
I realized I have not seen you play your fiddle since I started learning cello in the summer. I immediately noticed your bow hold and how it differs from the cello, lol. Hope to hear lots more of your wonderful playing as you get back into your groove. Kudos to you both for all the hard work and focus. You have come so far!
Wow. It’s so bright and airy. Amazing to see her beauty.
It is great to see all of Magic Carpet II in the open air. Have fun on your most deserved vacation. Thanks for the video.
@6:45 Alidino looks so tired. Music sounded like Tommy Emanuel. Love the way you unfold your story. Looks like a great spot. Seems like someone has gone before you, laid the path. And so glad you played your violin. Such a sweet melody. (I think it's a violin, I have a friend who plays the fiddle and she corrects me) Thanks!
Best wishes from Poland! I really admire your hard work, it's inspiring 💝
YES, YES the violin is back. It is the sound of Magic Carpet and the sound of what Maya is… and what completes Aladino’s magic work. Welcome at you new spot. Wish you both a well deserved brake.
WWWaaaoouuhhh a magnificent boat! with a long hull! This boat is indestructible. Long life to the boat, the captain and the crew... Peter from France.
So happy for y'all! MC II looks fabulous and I'm so happy to hear your violin singing again🙂
The first 9 minutes of your video were "AMAZING!" Can only imagine how you all felt. Fully agree with your Dad about the technology of the trailer. All the best in BC
Every week we celebrate the start of the weekend with watching your video. How exciting that the boat move went well. So interesting to see how it works with the truck trailer supporting the boat. You both have worked so hard to get to this point. We very much enjoy the video’s you share. So nice to see you play violin again. ❤
Well done guys -when i grow up I want to be like Aladino - a master craftsman..
Thank you for ending with your beautiful violin, Maya. It must have been hard to sideline it for so long, during your push to the move date. All your hard work is coming together. Aladino you are a machine, but a delightfully gentle and modest one. You are both impressive in your attention to detail and perseverance. Jedda and I that hope you enjoy a marvellous rest, sailing and feeling the wind. All the best with quickly finding the right buyer for Magic Carpet 1. We look forward to some more vicarious travel under sail.❤
Great video! Loved seeing the boat being moved. I think your move to Canada is a great idea. To have friends and family there for support and love cannot be underestimated. ⛵️🇨🇦
its the first time that i see her in the sun!!!! gorgeous. im so happy for you guys, Greg you are a star!
Great getting it out of the shop. In college myself and two other frat brothers built a 32' cabin cruiser from a kit. We rented an old shop and built it. But when finished it was too tall to get out of the shed. We bought 2" schedule 40 pvc and cut them into 2' long pieces and lowered the boat onto them. Hat the whole fraternity there to push the boat out of the shed. Only had a couple of inches to spare with the flying bridge.
So the workshop is not as nice and convenient, but wow how much brighter the boat and interior are, which will make it a happier place to work!
Wow, you young folks have just a ton of energy! So glad Maya's dad could share his skills in the project making him feel he is an integral part of your lives. I cherish your traditional family values, values that are fading away in our mobile society. So glad you can take some time to rest and reflect on the past and remind yourselves of an exciting future to come. Cheers!
That sunshine would be rare in the month of Novemebr. I'm sure you will enjoy your vacation from boat building. Good move, I'm happy for you. Thanks.
"it's all working out", I'm sure you will be happier in Canada, home for one. Thank you for sharing your reality. All the very best! Violin at last.😊
Quite the transformation in the light of the day!!
"The rays of happiness, like those of light, are colorless when unbroken" - Longfellow
Well I have to say this was like a milestone. This boat was in the shed for a longtime. Yes building a shelter over her is a great idea.
I loved the violin playing
I think Mya is probably a good singer also.
Have fun on your vacation you deserve it. I can’t wait to see this boat splash.
And also your privacy is important to most if not all of us. I know some wouldn’t respect it, so good call in keeping your location private.
It was wonderful to hear Mia playing the Violin again. Hopefully she will be able find herself once again doing something that makes her heart sing. Wishing you a Happy Homecoming, being back in Canada. Looking forward to the new chapter of MC2. Have a great break and relax. You deserve it. 🥰
It has been a joy to see you so happy and to hear you again with your violin, kisses from Ceuta (Spain)
Glad the boat mover got it there safely. Quite a different view!
She's playing sooooo wonderful! 😍
Hope the move goes smoothly for you guys! Once again you've done an Incredible job of bringing your magic carpet to life again!! Skilled meticulous beautiful workmanship, it certainly shows!!🎉☀️🎻🥇🏆
So nice to see y’all in the next stage and able to decompress. Nice to hear the violin again. Thank you.
Loved the violin concert! Not to diminish the main subject of the boat move. At this point, our commitment to watch the build continue is a forgone conclusion. But I'm exhausted in watching your exhaustion. The violin playing was a nice respite.
Great to hear the move went smoothly. You will enjoy this boatyard as I used it for my refit a few years back. Enjoy, hope you enjoyed Europe and MC1 is already to be sold. Should move quickly as she's well loved.
I'm always amazed in the water they look small but on a trailer they look bloody huge man
Wow! I did not realize how much I was missing that lovely violin. Wonderful episode and enjoy life!
It seem so long since you played you violin. You must be happy again. And it sounded so sweet. Kiaora.
What a wonderful episode. You've come a long way. The move happened in a great way. What a smooth flow! safe travels. Highest Blessings
Fantastic chapter one, best wishes going forward on chapter two. Have a good time on your vacation.
Just came across your channel. We had Cape George 36, hull 13, Sabbatical. We lived on her and sailed out of the Columbia River up and down the Oregon and Washington coast for 10 years. When we first bought her we had her in our back yard for a year, so this video brings back memories.
Heart warming to see & hear you playing your violin once again for us.
I think EVERY Mazda should have a bowsprit! That was way cool!!
Wow!!! Blinded by the Light! How wonderful to see you both & MC2 in the sunshine. The interior looks so much better in the light and of course Maya's fiddle is a ray of sunshine too🌅
Magnificent! The move went smooth and the new boat yard looks great.
I am very glad you were able to get a container, it makes everything so much better.
The boat looks tiny now that it is out of the shed and among other bigger and much bigger boats. It will shrink in size much more when you launch. I always wondered at how much different my boats were in the water and out of the water. Thanks for the great video!
Just wow! She's yar. So beautiful!
much much respect for you being brave and honest enough to ask for the privacy
Dad you are really appreciated. You have donated so much help.
So great to see her in the sunlight!
Your videos have been food for my soul and joy to my heart as I do not sail anymore, for I am old and not able to do myself most of the sweetest moments have been your channel and remembering my time in the sun with dolphins in my bow wake . Thank you for a beautiful existance
I just want to shout out to the OG Mazda Protégé!!
My daughter has the exact same car, only 40,000 miles. Great car
Just fantastic! Well done to all of you! Happy holidays!
I really appreciate you playing the violin 🎻. You play beautifully. ❤😊
Yes really nice to see Maya relaxing with her music and the Boat looking nice and settled.
