Now onto your Homestead boy it sure is beautiful up there! Tons of firewood and boxes. I’m saying that because this individual in South Carolina had a nice Homestead. He used trees Cut in half as his box material! Now I do know this. Some fruits and vegetables love pine like the strawberry and some hate it

We have one of these Homestead four hours away in Florida lol now seeing how you’re in the cold territory I know you think we’re crazy for a living so far south. But there’s nothing we can do about it the Lord has placed us in the tip of South Carolina and will not let us go! But he has been gracious to give us a an escape property out of that place.
It is hot but things grow wonderful in Florida. Especially fruit trees as you know. I’m in central Florida north so I am not affected by all the crazy they’re having in the groves deep south. I am also per the instructions of the Holy Spirit God placed upon my heart to build a ginormous Screenhouse to grow in. If I need to make it a greenhouse all as I have to do is line it with jobsite plastic👍 This is where the mason bees will come in!Also the entire center of Florida is over an aquifer, well actually I think the whole state? So there’s not gonna be any problem getting water lol I have two lakes but can only drink from one because the other is brackish. This is hilarious because you can shrimp and crab in that lake lol. In South Carolina that’s the way of life fishing shrimp and crabbing. But there I am in the middle of the Ocala Forest and there are Springs everywhere that are 72°. So I live not fare across the street from one of the springs. So all is I have to do is go down get into Lake George swim a little bit and I am in the spring. Lake George is cooler also because of it being supplied by the very sparing I spoke of. So I thought I would tell you a little bit about my homestead to be!

It was a rotary hammer we bought that ended up arriving a few hours after we left. Bummer! We ended up having to rent it from the local hardware store. That hard ground was no joke!!

How deep are wells in that area ?

Great question. Wells in the area can be anywhere from 50 to 200 feet. We are excited to get back to work now that the snow is melting. Thanks for watching & commenting.

Not to be a nit picker but at 5:35 in the video you are operating your 3 point post hole digger and your wife moves in to "lean" on it and she almost gets her feet into the auger. Doing that is major safety violation that could lead to a serious, life changing injury. The "lean" is the number one cause for 3 point digger accidents. There are all sorts of safety warnings both on unit as decals and in the owners manual telling the operator not to do it. Using a hammer drill to dig out the dirt should have been an indication that the soil conditions were such that digging post holes with a 3 point digger was not advisable. 3 point have plenty of lift capacity but are terrible when it comes to down pressure. There are down pressure kits for 3 point diggers but I don't believe the brand you have will accept one. You could dig a little then add water to help make the soil more acceptable for digging. Or rent a skid steer with a digger and you will get plenty of down pressure but you still may have to water the hole to facilitate the process. When digging a post hole soil condition is key......no matter what process you use to dig.

Thanks for the safety tips & info they are much appreciated. We had great success with the hammer drill, which unfortunately was the tool that did not arrive before we left town. Thankfully, we were able to rent one. Adding water to the holes was what worked the best for us to soften up the ground. We are looking forward to doing many, many more posts come spring time. Thanks for watching. We hope you’ll follow along.
