- Hey all, this is my BMW E30 316i from 1987 with a 5 speed manual transmission. The engine is a M10B18 with 1,8L and 102PS.

that engine sound 😍
that is 3.16i Normally they don't sound that loud but its sport exhaust If it wasn't for the sport exhaust, it wouldn't have made that much noise anyway. This sound usually occurs on 3.20 and higher models.

What exhaust ?
Do all e30 differentials have whine noise? Ive got a 3.91 in my 320i and since i got it i cant find a fix for this problem.. any help?
i also have a 3.91 in my 325 and have a bit of diff whine, Hasn't caused me any issues so i've left it
The 316i isn't a M40B16 ? I have a 316 M10B18 90hp and i was thinking that the b18 was only for the 318i and the 316 carburetor

This (rare) 316i (fl) has 1.8i m10 105hp (engine from pfl 318i), but that was only for part of the 1989 model year, normaly they have m40b16 102hp. 316 (pfl) has 1.8 (carb) 90hp
