Wait a minute. They had a coloured emblem on the steering wheel before? What the hell where they thinking when they made the e36 and decided carving it into the plastic will be enough? It looks really nasty compared to what they had before (and after the facelift)
Some E36 wheels have coloured roundels, but none of the Airbag wheels do. They couldn't figure out how to make an Airbag and still have the badge. And it wasn't just BMW, it was every manufacturer at the time.
A little late to the party, but with the E36, airbags became federally mandated. BMW had no means to develop an emblem on the wheel that wouldn't shrapnel off into your face if the airbag went off, which is why early model E36's had engraved emblems, and late models have actual badging.

I'm guessing you have some skinny and old tires. My E21 316 is the same in the wet. Just goes even at stupidly low speeds. Hoping it will be even more fun with the new 6 pot engine in it and an LSD.
The e30 is way more nimble than the e34, I had one before my e34. Plus it helps he’s not putting down so much torque like the in the 540 lol easier to control even when wet. Mine was 325e, no balls at all but fun af in the rain
I doubt you don't have a locking diff or welded diff, were 316i delivered also with a locking diff? Generally: RWD + locking diff + narrow tires pressurized to above what you would normally drive is enough. :)

I do have a locking diff, but it was me who installed it. The car didn't come with it. And yes, pressurized tires help a lot ahah

Boa tarde Joao, é um 316i de 1989. Já levou alguns upgrades, por exemplo travagem, direção assistida, barra estabilizadora traseira e diferencial autoblocante 4.27 (mesma relação que o original)

When I bought the car, it didn't have power steering. If you find a car in good condition and price, you should buy it, even if it doesn't have PS. You can easily fit an E30 or E36 power steering later. You can do it without PS, you will just get tired faster :)

It's an easy job, as long as you have all the correct parts. There are lots of DIY explaining how to do the conversion. Good luck finding your car, I am sure you will enjoy it! :)

@@NekoTalk Nope hahah cars this light, espacially ones that have rear weight reduction, with LSDs are easier to drift/skid than you'd expect.
do not speak really you need torque to break traction which is lower down in the rev range.
@@alicebate6384 That's why diesels make good drift cars too. Slightly wet and my 320D can take 2nd gear donuts at 1,500-2,000RPM
When you have m4 its easy to droft at rev limiter so u dont need clutch bombs

This is the m sport steering wheel. I believe the regular is just black too
Right, this steering wheel only has the emblem because it is the M-Tech 1. All the other ones don't have it

There's one E36 steering wheel with coloured emblem and airbag. It is a three spoke with an airbag light built into it.

I didn't use clutch, just used the gas pedal and the balance of the car weight. The trick is to have crappy rear tires ahah. Cheers!

Sedan 4 door version, which weighs approximately 1200 kgs. It is not very powerful, but it's fun for sure!

You wont overtake easily, but if you want fun, agile car without breaking speed limits, its a very solid drive
