  • Amateur golfers often struggle with sequencing their golf swing. If you are one of these golfers then this video will help you understand what happens in the golf swing and gives you a drill to follow to improve your sequencing.
Firstly I break down two different types of golf swings. The first being a upper body dominant swing, the type most people who struggle with sequencing will perform. The second is a more efficient movement, which is a lower body dominant motion that starts from the ground up.
I then explain how using a red speed stick can help you feel the movement better. Using the speed stick you can then practise how you should be moving for a more efficient swing. This will stop you compensating in your swing and increase your speed and distance.

The force plate data and graphs are very helpful for both coach and client. It makes it easier to identify what needs work and which drill can help. Then in the follow up session there will be clear evidence that the work done has been effective by comparing the stats. The ball doesn’t always tell the whole story but the stats don’t lie. I recommend booking a session with Sam to see what your graph looks like, so you are working on the right stuff 👍

My swing is great when I don't have a ball in front of me.

I see this a lot with golfers of all levels. In my experience, this can often be because the golfer is moving with different ground force when there is a ball there which completely changes their swing movement. This suggests that the intention and practise drill/feel isn't right for what they are intending to improve.
