- Ryan Hughes is a man that really doesn't need an introduction. He is one of the all time greats in Motocross racing and into his 40's has managed to stay as relevant as ever through the content that he puts out around technique and general philosophy around racing. He is an amazing dude, and I'm so stoked we got to do this podcast.
This is also the first podcast in the US studio and signals a new era of Gypsy Tales!

This is FULL OF LIFE QUOTES. I ALWAYS FIND MYSELF COMING BACK TO THIS SPECIFIC PODCAST WHEN IM FEELING DOWN OR NOT RIGHT ABOUT LIFE. THANK YOU RYAN HUGHES
Every podcaster ever: "can you pull that a little closer to your face"
I just need to go to Rynos House and chill with him for a bit. The man is like a breath of fresh air in this snowflake society
100% agreed! He is one wonderful dude. He has certainly grown into himself and is aging wisely. The definition of a “Man”.
Definitely a snowflake society .......but you don't have to be what society has become....never forget that💪🇺🇸🖕🔧☠️🥊💯
@Robert Rishel 😊😊
😊😊
😊
I know absolutely nothing about motocross, or Ryan Hughes for this matter, but God damn my man, thank you for this wonderful interview
This episode will go into history as the Greatest One ever made and will be seen again in MX Culture on earth
I'm not involved in racing but I am a coach and personal trainer and take a lot of inspiration from Rynos coaching style. Any student is lucky to learn from him
Honestly the best interview I've ever seen enough said
I have seen all the clips from this pod, but today I put this on while working in my shop. Holy F-Balls. I have taken buckets full of messages about living life in the present, about working as one with my body, about philosophy, training, recovery, and about truly appreciating my environment.
I was a motocross racing kid in the 90’s and Ryno was THE MAN in my world. I was at Broome Tioga for the national the weekend before he pushed his bike at Steel City. There was NO ONE tougher, more determined, or more bad ass than Ryno and there’s been nobody close since.
Talk about an inspiration! Thank you so much for opening the door and banging the drum. I hope more people will wake up, consider possibilities, and expand that box of normalcy.
Eloquent motherfuckers y’all are!
Thank you again and please keep it going.
How about an update on positive changes since this first aired? Like Marv winning a super cross sans Neck Brace!!!
Braaaaahp!
-Castor
Man stoked you got to watch a full show! Thanks for the comment 🤘🏼❤️
Ryno if you’ll ever read this, thank you for everything. You’ve helped me more than my dad ever did. Without realising, you’ve changed my riding style and personal life in a very positive way. I will definitely try to be less active on my phone and eat my food without having any other distractions. Try to feel everything and be myself. You’re not only the mx jesus, you’re a goddamn lifecoach mate! Thanks for sharing your knowledge sir.
Cheers, Donny!
Wow, just wow. I cant believe it took me a year to stumble upon this interview.
Ryan Hughes, The Motocross' Shaman. Thank you Rayan for your precious soul and for sharing your knowledge with strength and deep sensitivity. Respect for life.
The literal best podcast I’ve ever listened to. Ryan is a legend! Thanks for this. Made my workday way better my friend.
Been at home sitting in my car for 30mins in a trance kinda. I agree with alot of what he puts down. Basically being YOU
This is like the best interview. I have thought so many thoughts these guys are chasing anmbout, yet never wanted to share, at least not not much with others, concept people I connect with. Which isn't often . Great chat guys. Love it. Rich
He is now my uncle Ryno. Could listen to him for hours and hours
I'm 51yr just starting adventure riding.
I used to watch him compete.
And now I'm getting so much out of his life lessons and how to move forward.
I think he would be a EXCELLENT life coach!.
👍🏻👍🏻💪🏼.
He is very helpful in sharing his life lessons.
And riding techniques.
One of the best podcast ever, so much good information on so many levels.
"....if you've never hated anybody, then you don't know what love is"
Ryno is the moto mystic
I’ve learned a lot from this interview. I love listening to Ryno and his advice. I broke 5 ribs riding my mountain bike on New Years Day. And, it happened because I was about as far away from the present as I could be. I was 100 feet from the end of my ride and all I was thinking about was sticking the last switchback and going home and having a beer. I’ll never let that happen again.
This man is 100% at peace. Just have to watch any video of ryno talking or callum when hes training hadian degan to improve your own riding. All for free that is awsome for all of us. Thank you gents
Amazing podcast! Ryno has helped me with my riding immensely
🤙🤙My son is 5yrs old. He’s been riding for 3 months.
He’s on a Husqvarna tc 50.
He rides about 2-3 times a week.
He started out riding with a EVS neck brace. We wouldn’t allie him to ride with out it.
As it just seemed like standard equipment for youngsters now days.
***He’s been having trouble with a tabletop at our track. Every time he seems to be getting bucked over the bars, landing extremely heavy on the nose every jump. Not abele to clear but half way. We’ve been concentrating on posture elbows up ass out ankles down. And he does great but still the bucking Bolger almost ever jump big or small.
After I Watched this podcast with Ryan. I’m in awwww.
1st 3 laps with out the neck brace. It’s like he advanced his skills just by removing the brace he’s now clearing the double with relative ease with both tires touching same time more often than landing a lil nose heavy if not on both tires.
Looking like a natural.
Thanks Ryan 🤙🤙🤙
I had no clue the motocross industry has such a radical philosopher. really good shit here. fuck yeah the world needs to hear this dude.
Absolutely brilliant !!!
this pod cast was intense. it seems like it is flying by and 3 hours has passed, but I check the timeline and it's only 30-40 minutes in. feels like the movie Good Fellas where it picks you up and doesn't stop :D
The sport is so mental any number riders could win they’re all fast but I think injuries do dictate a good part of the ability to win
Shows how quick things come and go and the true need of those objects
Watched the Ryan interview and I binned the neck brace still clinging on to the knee braces tho, only riding enduro.
Those evs tp199 (knee guards) are awesome. Got like 3 pairs, man it was RAD to hear that he wears the same ones 😂 🤘
Definitely the best interview I have ever seen ! Thank you both, it has made me a subscriber to your page 😊 Hughes is a legend, I have been racing since 1977 and still going strong 💪
Julio the pool guy. Lmao 😆🤣!!
How on Earth do you only have 11K subscribers? Your content is truly top-tier, mate. I am looking forward to seeing your podcast grow.
New to Gypsy Tales and Ryan is salt. Not my job to make you feel warm and fuzzy. New subscription
Why I ride. Subconscious is a dark energy. Ride the fire!
fun fact, my parents named me ryan because of this legend right here
I live in PA and raced contingency every weekend from age 7yrs old to 18yrs old. I was a huge Rhino fan he was a beast. I was at Steel City when his chain derailed on his Split Fire Kawasaki
I watched this and loved it, best podcast ever. I shared this on my Facebook page and think everyone would benefit from watching this. Thanks so much for doing this interview. Always thought Ryan was a cool guy, but this opened up my eyes to alot. Alot of things he said make total scence. I'll look for him on Instagram and follow definitely. 👊👍
I felt as I was in there with you hook line and sinker. Anything you want to do if your head is in the right place the rest of your body follow if not even try.
He’s exactly right. I ride at a AA level and it is just practice and a basic understanding of physics. Lean forward when accelerating lean back when decelerating
You should post every full podcast video on this channel so you can watch the full podcast and keep the other channel for clips!!!
That's the plan!
agreed ive been waiting for this whole podcast for a while
@@gypsytalespodcast9369 thank you mate
This is by far best interview I have ever seen in my life. Watched it more than 20 times in last two weeks and I still haven't extracted the whole knowledge. What I am trying to figure out is whether it is worth to buy Ryno's training program? Anyone here can help me please?
Appreciate it mate!
Thanks for posting the full video!
Thank u so much gypsy! Ryan is a fcking legend and so are ur podcasts! keep it up
Ryno what an amazing guest to have on your pod cast, you were both amazing
I have a stage 3 acl tear and meniscus damage, I must wear a knee protection/brace to stop more further injuries that can't be stopped at the speed I like to ride when I have a dirt sample my 2c
What a god Ryan Hughes 2024🙌🏻🇺🇸
Just found your show. Your have an amazing channel . Keep up the great work.
Damn Jace you're a smart fucking dude! Cheers buddy 🤙the kind of people I need to surround myself with for sure. Thanks for being a lord haha
Relax .. Flow.. Do NOT Think.. is what i tell people. Ryan Hughes 100% correct.
This is like therapy.
Love your podcast 🇦🇺💯🔥 - ryno is the man!! ✊
All the way. What we resists persists.
I met Ryno in the kitchen of Racer X's original farm house office in 2003. And he gave me his Shoei TLD helmet
I keep going back to this episode, one of the greatest
Ryno is a freak of the earth , fitness and mental health unmatched. Ryno is Ironman.
Overview of our restless humanity! Feeling good with in your own skin. Hard to do
unless all stars align in your world.
Great podcast Jade, thanks Ryno
“School teaches you what to think not how to think” just blew my mind man.
This was so good. Well done 👏
Ryno was one of my heroes growing up, maybe even more so now after seeing this. Would love to have the opportunity to spend a day working on riding technique followed by some psychedelics & philosophy with ya some time bud! 😆
My brother from another mother. So many 100%s dropped in this show.
favorite podcast i've watched
Awesome
watching this for the 10th fucking time
That was the best! Thank you Ryno for your honesty, I will come back and listen again.. well done Gypsy Tales!
Awesome that when Ryno mentioned lightning at the pole the audio had an electronic glitch 😂
The opposite of Deagan isn't Travis.. it's Ryan
Everything is measured out. Not like back in the 80's. The tracks are dangerous today and Ryan is right on the money about the speed.
Thank you for this one! Everything i needed to hear at this moment 💙
I wish he would talk more about Villopoto. He’s the only rider and I can recall that rode with a neck brace all career and has great technique.
NOTE TO RYAN, IF POSSIBLE?
I have seen some of your videos about riding & body placement on the M/C but I have not ever been privy to EVERYTHING that you would tell someone that you are training but I would like to ask if you ""TEACH/TELL"" riders that the reason that their head needs to be over the steering pivot is because your head/face are always ""LOOKING/POINTING"" straight ""FORWARD/AHEAD"" & that is the exact same thing that the front wheel of the M/C is doing & the two ""CENTERS"" need to be ""ALIGNED"" & on the same PIVOT POINT.
I tell newbies that the FRONT WHEEL is always pointed STRAIGHT AHEAD & that it PIVOTS left or right and that the REAR WHEEL STEERS or in effect, has to be made to ""COME ALONG & FOLLOW"" where the front wheel & head & face are pointed & thus, WANT TO GO.
Thank God for the time stamps this dude is a freak
Gret video, luv the RH philosophy. Bring back the 125 & 250 classes, Look a MotoGp and development classes they have !!
I fucking love Ryan Hughes. I think the same way.
1:49:53... Just saving my bookmark for the podcast. Love it. Much love to you all. What a gypsy episode.
I think of ryno evrytime i go to do cerrian sings
Yes brother this one’s epic
I like the way this guy rolls
I've got a trading card of Ryan #68 from 92' he was always best on the 2 stroke
Great interview! Very refreshing to see. He has a very steep mountain to climb going up against the Safety Beast. That is what they are using to infiltrate every aspect of our society. As I haven't ridden for 30 some years as a kid, I didn't realize that that the safety thing had taken hold in MX too. Don't see how they do any of the things they do with all that crap on. Wish him the best in his battle.
Dude Jace is f*^*n fried here. Don’t know how I missed it the first time 😂
the perfectfucking podcast I needed to listen to
Awesome, enjoyed that !!
U are a genius what a great interview!
And that's why I ride a 250 2 stroke.
What a Legend.
Nowhere now here
the bass sound of your accent drains my surround sound battery lmfao I appreciate the video. It's just so masculine it's probably from ag1 or whatevers.
Whose thinking are you thinking! That’s the life
Many skiers and snowboarders at the professional level wear many types of braces, especially knee braces.
Just Magic guys⭐️
All these sings ryno. And niss and nat. And neeze sings. Ryno rules man i swear hes a genius. I love it. Keep ranting. Those would be smart to take notes. This guy is so right
Love it rybo
The way Ryno talks when he makes a point reminds me of Ben Stiller in Happy Gilmore. Don't know why but it's the most entertaining shit.
Gu
Ya annoying and not very self aware and very opinionated and somewhat condescending.
As always keeping it real so mofo good 🤟
Time stamp for the 'new riding technique'?
Topic/issue/subject time stamps would be very useful.
Take out the LCQ'S add super mini
bad santa lookin good
Once you realize that you dont exist and the idea of I or me is a concept,
Then self is one and not fragmented into the idea of being a separate thing from the universe. Personality is a an act. There is no improvement of oneself because there is no one to improve. It's an illusion
You get it
When filing paperwork READ AND CHECK THE BOX paying the $18 was the difference between $100 and $100,000
I started doing the same thing regarding practicing technique instead of just riding around pretending to know what i'm doing; I will tell you that it is NIGHT and DAY difference on my progress I can't agree more with you - PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE Technique more than anything and you will be amazed with your progress. Just riding a figure 8 track with make the difference. Just try it out and you will see!! young grasshopper!!
