The Perfect Faro Shuffle is one of my favorite sleight of hand techniques, with myriad uses in both card cheating and card magic scenarios. What I show here is a routine that is sort of a "hybrid" of some of the real card table uses of the move mixed with some card magic principles that hopefully provides some entertaining context and historical background on the move.
To learn more about Faro, check out this article: bit.ly/2N7zXtc
    NOTE:
This is NOT meant to be an instructional video on how to cheat at cards or on how to protect yourself from cheating. Don't watch this video and then try this stuff in a game or think you can’t be cheated. I make these videos for entertainment so that people can more deeply appreciate the craft and the art of sleight-of-hand. If you find this stuff interesting, go check out the work of people like Steve Forte, Jason England, Richard Turner, Darwin Ortiz, and Jason Ladanye. If you want to learn how to protect yourself at the card table, check out “Casino Game Protection,” “Poker Protection,” and “Gambling Protection Series” by Steve Forte, and “Gambling Scams” by Darwin Ortiz.
    CREDITS:
I first learned the Faro shuffle from Card College Vol. 3 by Roberto Giobbi, although it is taught in many different sources. I first saw the Faro shuffle used to stack the deck in Steve Forte's Gambling Protection Series. The move has probably been used by card cheats since it was invented because of how efficient it is at precisely repositioning cards. For more information on stacking the deck, see "Gambling Scams" by Darwin Ortiz and “Poker Protection” Steve Forte. The second half of the routine was inspired by Darwin Ortiz's handling of Michael Close's effect "The Way of the Duck" on his "Devious" DVD set.

Faro was also played in Europe and Russia in the early 19th Century. There is a novella based around Faro by Alexander Pushkin, 'The Queen of Spades' ('Pikovaya dama'), which was written in 1834, and an opera of the same name based on that story by Tchaikovskii which premiered in 1890.

@@DanielRoyMagic In my opinion you should also read the classic books on Faro and the Faro Shuffle. Ed Marlo did quite a lot of Faro work long before the Steves and The Darwins came on the magic radar. I have also found faro work limited to controlled performing conditions of a formal magic show, rather than table hopping. Simply because the deck has to be in faro condition or broken in, unlike table hopping where in bars and restaurants and strolling at a cocktail party, where decks are abused by audience members and the performing conditions of real world magic performing, of dealing with audiences that want to shuffle the deck at odd times and they have solid hands, also spilled drinks are common under real world conditions. And if I may add, if you don't read the classics your missing a large part of a full magic education.

This beautifully performed routine should be part of every lecture in magic, 'cause there is so much to learn in it (besides of how to do a perfect faro).
Besides the perfectly executed sleights, it's a beatuyfull example of "beeing one step ahead".
Taking a principle, that should be well known, but is overlooked or forgotten, even by the initiated and inaugurated. Setting the stage, wrapping it all in a nice story and filling the gaps with moves, that make it possible for the audience to believe, that something like this could be done.
The perfect use of sleigts as misdirection, instead the use of misdirection for covering the moves. Just wonderfull!

The fax that you only have 70k subs is whats really blowing my mind. Well not including all this magic you throwing in my face. You teach ua about card counting while literally tellikg us nothing about how to actually do it lmao. This shit is amazing dude. The ppls wildn. Literally my first time ever saying this but you will hit a million subs no cap on me edit: you gotta tell ppls to like comment and subscribe lol also to turn on the notification bell. I've watched like 6 videos and you never said it so I didnt realized I wasn't even subbed and went on a whole rant lmaooo

Man! If I see this gentleman at any card games, I’ll either avoid that table, or just hand him all my stake money! This guy is one of truly astounding card sharks🥴🥴

I was smiling the whole time watching this, you're incredible Daniel! Intelligent, charismatic and the smoothest handling I've ever seen! I could faro for another 10 years and not hit as many perfect ones in a row like that!
