I was terrified of going back for a colonoscopy, but after hearing you talk about everything, I am not afraid now. So I feel better. Hi Maggie. I’m glad everything is going well for you. Just wanted to let you know that after my surgery i really had trouble sitting and tried several different things before my husband went to the hardware store and bought a wheelbarrel innertube. It sounds strange but worked the best because i could adjust the air with a bike pump depending where i sat. Before that there was only one chair in the house i could sit on. I took it for car rides, dr visits anywhere i went. Recieved quite a few strange looks but didn’t care because they would have been watching me cry otherwise.

    This is a crazy way you inadvertently helped me. I was watching when you commented that you were or took Gabapentin for pain but you had a side effect with vision. I hope this is correct. I am sitting there...well I take it too for post knee replacement pain. For the last few days I have been having vision problems..blurred when watching TV and irritation in my right eye.. I even asked my son to look in my eye because maybe I lost a contact. In it. Nope. Wait...could I be experiencing a side effect. I called my daughter, a physician. She told me to stop taking it and see if vision improved. Also sometimes side effects will diminish over time. I do not think it is doing me any good anyway. So thank you. I shall see.

    • @LetsTalkIBD

    Hello Maggie
    I can tell you are a warrior!!! You have gone thru so much and you still have a smile on your face.
    Question?? All of those organs are removed by a big incision ( small incision) in the front???
    Or did you have more incisions?
    I hope you are happy and well!
    Hugs😇💙

    • @LetsTalkIBD
      @LetsTalkIBD  Před 4 lety +1

      So the big incision you see was from years ago - my intestines had burst inside of me and they needed a big incision to be able to clean me out. This surgery, my colon and rectum actually were pulled out through my anus, and once they were out they sewed the hole shut. The small incisions on my belly were for cutting the connective tissue to loosen my colon (my surgery was done robotically).

    Gabapentin is a weird drug. It’s used for so many things. I’m on it as part of my depression and anxiety regime. It’s the med that I feel if I miss it, the one that I told the hospital I had to have that night when I was admitted after an accident.

      Nancy Williams It’s definitely very weird. I took it to treat nerve pain and it gave me suicidal thoughts and severe depression, as well as a BAD twitch at random times. But then it’s great for others! It’s bizarre how every body is so different in reacting to meds!

      It IS a weird drug. I take it for nerve pain from neuropathy, yet veterinarians give it to cats as a tranquilizer/painkiller.
