- Hi guys! Here is my first ever platinum video on the channel and im happy it can be with one of my all time favourite games FF7.
Here you will see my journey through the game and how I earned the platinum over 300 times! I loved every second of this game, there were times when some mini games would grind my gears but the experience over all is one of the best things ive ever played! I would recommend anyone to go for the platinum in this game, but be prepared to pull your hair out in the end game stuff lol.

It's good to see a platinum title that isn't negative. It also took me 220-300 hours. Hard to say, because I often left the game running idly for awhile. I only insist on getting platinum on games I thoroughly enjoy, or games that I fully price for.
Yeah that was my issue, every title i saw for the plat videos are negative, I love everything about this game, obviously there was some parts that were a bit annoying for a while but nothing can nullify my hype and love for this game. They made it soooo good overall. Exactly dude no point platinuming games you dont like. Which is why i was confused at most peoples titles.
I did the same, I'm one trophy away from platinum (just gotta complete hard mode) but I'm like 220hrs deep and left my game on idle Hella times
Well one of the people who I got the plat for had a play time of over 800 hours lol. Because they kept using that portal thing the handheld streaming thing kept it open from day 1 basically 😅@@TeddysStarksGaming
I cannot beat the Outer Worlds challenge on the simulator. Im an OG player, maybe I just suck and Final Fantasy has passed me by lmao. Im at 300 hours myself, but took my time exploring every inch of each region. And I had a lot of time added replaying chapters. I know on Part III I will play it only on Hard Mode to condition me (same thing I did on remake) but IDK if I will ever beat Gilgamesh and Sephy. I even tried the Yuffie Brumal Form strat. Do you think I need to have all my weapon levels at 10? or what is the secret??? haha

I finally got the platinum too, after 200 hours+. One of my absolute favorite games and I didn't even know the OG. But was also probably the hardest platinum. In any case, thank you for the helpful guides. I think without you and
Optinoob I wouldn't have managed some trophies and challenges. Hopefully we don't have to wait until the PS6 release for part 3!

Literally the only platinum related video I've clicked on, everything else was negatively titled for chasing views.
This game is a challenge, that's no lie. That also makes it immensely replayable and rewarding for some of us. In contrast FF16 (a good game) was laughably easy to the point where the combat became uninteresting for subsequent playthroughs. Even now, 3 months after its release, I'm still playing Rebirth and loving just about every one of the 250 hours I've sunk in.
Brilliant video mate! Rewatching all these moments in this incredible games makes me wish I could replay this all over again!

Exactly! The hardships are what make it worth it. If it was super easy it wouldn't be as satisfying. Plus all the things they made so much bigger and more in depth was so nice to see the love they put into the game.

Some of the mini games can be frustrating, the ones that got me pulling my hair out was the cactuar crush with Aerith and gears & gambits. Those were just too much. Fort condor was fun, until stage 3 and 4 on hard imo, the first 2 were fine. I feel like having limited number of units and the fact that the enemy can have neutral units that are massive in size and extremely tanks were very unfair for the later stages.
Also, as soon as you mentioned “we are gonna meet an old friend” in the grasslands, I was like…oh god, it’s gonna be chadley and I’m gonna wanna die lol. Straight up went from liking to hating him in remake to rebirth cos of these VR missions. xD
P.s. it’s soooo good to see Zack punch the crap outta Odin with his limit break for you to beat your first bonds of friendship. You did amazing. ^^

I remember back with resident evil Revelations, I used to run people through ghost ship. Then with remake 2, I actual did the speed runs for quite a few people. So I get it. When you love something, you want to help others. If I was as active as I was a dew years back, I'd probably run a few bonds of friendship runs myself. Anyways, this video was amazing, and your videos helped me near launch of the game. One of my proudest plats to date
Exactly especially since it's freaking FF7 and it looks and plays as well as it is. I've loved every minute I've spent helping people on this and remake as I started doing challenges for that too lol.

Your rebirth videos are great and I see that you have love for the game so im shocked by your lack of remake videos, Is there a reason why? I would love to see you fight weiss one day.
When it initially came out I got it about a week early so me and my fiance just sat there and played it through as this was during lockdown. I was thinking of doing a platinum video for remake. I've already platinumed it but could get it on pc :) . I also really enjoyed fighting Weiss, done that on stream for a few people. Thank you for the compliment on the videos though that's very much appreciated ☺️
@Solestro I see, a PC play though with some modded costumes would be chefs kiss. Maybe around the time part 3 comes out you could run through the first two as like a refresher. I see how much energy you put into Rebirth tho so I understand if you never want to touch it again lol
Well apparently with square enix "pursuing aggressive multiplatform options" hopefully rebirth will come to Xbox/pc and il be able to play it there too. That's a good idea though do a refresh before the new one comes out. I love rebirth I've played it even more hours for other people too and I'm still not bored lol. @@neovssmith19
I replayed the parade multiple times and it took me hours to get the trophy. xD I'm 4 challenges away from completing Chadley stuff (mostly guided of course since I'm... well, not that good xD), than only hardmode-playthrough would be left. ^^
Edit: I would have Cait Sith pronounced like that from reading, but on German dub it's pronounced something like "Cait-Chi". Totally weird, even tho I love the German dub. x)
Edit: Man I could add so much to this, but it's probably pointless. xD Locche reminded me of Zenos from FF XIV Shadowbringers/Endwalker. Or maybe Zenos probably somehow based of him, or maybe it was just because of that constant "my friend" talk. xD

For some reason, my ps5 glitched, and my time on this game went from about 240 hrs to 72, so now it looks like I got the platinum in only 72 hours, lol

I'm at ~22:00 and seeing you struggle with the adaptive triggers on the sit-ups minigame on your first playthrough... That was one of the minigames I gave up on during my easy mode playthrough. But, when I was playing through hard mode, my controller's left joystick went into eternal leftward drift and had to be replaced. My family has gone though a dozen Nintendo Switch joycons with the same issue, but this was the first time for PS5. So I decided to buy the "pro" controller purely because it has replacable joysticks. I didn't care about any other feature.
But I realized pretty quickly that I could re-program the pro controller's bottom triggers to L1/R1 and that made a *lot* of stuff much easier for me. When I went back to try the sit-up minigame, I think I got it on my second or third try, with ease. Something about having those triggers on the bottom (matching the visual on the screen) worked better for my brain, and the way I usually hold the controller worked better for my hands.
And I think I set them to square (and X?) for Galactic Saviors, which made that hard mode version *way* easier.
I'm still just watching your first playthrough (and enjoying your reactions... I don't usually watch this sort of video). I also thought that Dyne was one of the hardest easy mode fights in my first playthrough. I probably took half a dozen attempts, at least. But by hard mode, I found it to be one of the easier hard mode boss fights. I had learned to parry/block much *much* better (I'm still not great, but precision defense materia makes it possible), and I had much better materia, more slots, and better strats. Fully leveled blue materia really changes the battle tactics.
haha, now you're saying almost the same thing as me about the mini-games and the cosmo canyon chapter. Maybe I didn't feel like the mini-games were "dragging" as much as you, because I wasn't *quite* as perfectionist as you at completing *everything* in a region before moving on. I certainly didn't beat all of the gold saucer mini-games back in 1997! 😉 But I was still checking out all of the world intel and side quests that had been unlocked--I was blocked on the corel protorelic, I can't remember why. And I didn't even notice the ultimate party animal until hard mode.
But then, after the gongaga reactor and Tifa's time in the lifestream, I was suddenly way too invested in seeing where they went with the main story to spend so much time in side quests and mini-games. From there I basically skipped everything except the main story (I even skipped the nibel chocobos) until just before the second visit to the gold saucer. I then went back to do the nibel quests and then the cosmo canyon quests before continuing on to the gold saucer fight. After finishing the gold saucer visit (cait! I knew it had to end this way, but it still hurts 😢) I only did a little of cosmo canyon and nibel's world intel before going to the temple of the ancients. I knew I was going to play chapter 12 over and over for the dates anyway, so I still had a lot of those regions unfinished when I started on chapter select... (I did chapter 12 in hard mode before any other chapter, and that was a big mistake... It took me forever to figure out rufus at level ~50 and with underleveled materia.)
I'm glad hearing that you enjoyed playing as cait sith... I *loved* his chapter, even though yin-yang wrecked me a few times.
I see way too many people hate on his gameplay. IMO, he's delightful. But... I still haven't defeated the mindflayer with cait sith solo. So.. he *does* have his challenges (I've been using versions of ice + mp absorb + hp absorb + focus + focus + magnify, but I'm gonna try swapping some of that with stop/focus next time.)
It was weird that *THE* specific Aerith/Sephiroth scene was robbed of it's immediate emotional impact by Cloud's confusion, whether due to world-skipping or mind-washing or both. But by the _end_ of that whole sequence, when it was obvious that everyone else was living in their reality and Cloud was disconnected from it, that really hit home for me. Being stuck in denial of tragic loss is (unfortunately) something I can relate to, and whether Cloud's purely in denial or just multiversally mixed up is beside the point. That ending hit hard--much harder than the original, for me.
ahh!!! that bugged motorcycle mini-game in the shinra middle manager quest!!! Even though it wasn't the hardest or most frustrating, it was one of my least favorite mini-games. The controls always feel so frustrating to me. And I beat it probably a dozen times before going online to learn about the bug!
Still so grateful for getting me my plat. Especially as it meant giving me time for FF16 ❤

I cant seem to beat the last brutal challenge and ive done every guide possible 100 percent and i cannot do it at all. Then the legendary challenges ive done all of the guides on them and i still cant do anything

My theory on why sephiroth is so fixated with cloud, is because not only did his body and mind Jenova cells, making him a failed experiment. He is the only person to survive the treatment, and he continues to resist it. In Sephiroth's version of reality, after his psychotic break, cloud is an anomaly..and instead of just killing him outright, he is focused on proving his worldview to be absolute. Which makes him underestimate Aerith entirely.
If all of the universes shown in rebirth do merge in part 3 which is what sephiroth's goal seems to be, I wonder if Zack will be able to keep his sanity, and resist degradation. If not. We're all going to kill Zack.
The party doesn't back in the corel prison because they still have to clear barret's name. Or at least find out the truth. I assume Cloud knew he was being bugged by Dio when he grabbed his hand so hard.

I'm still on my first playthrough, chap 10 at 50 hours and 100% done everything that is possible so far, already got 30 johnny hideaway items already, but these fucking minigames are either endless fun or pain and suffering lol
"Make sure to get a good deck." At least until you face the final challenge of Queen's Blood, where your deck doesn't matter because the boss cheats. It's like dropping a nugget of dog shit on top of a delicious sundae in place of the cherry. lol I don't understand that decision at all.
Is that the queen or the ones in the gold saucer? Cause the queen is easy.
@Solestro The queen for me. My main deck crushed absolutely everything else with almost 100% success. The Queen, though? Nope. I just don't understand why they would be like, "Hey. You know how we've spent the entire time teaching you how everyone plays the game by these specific rules? You know how your deck is built to take advantage of that? Well no. This person can just play whatever they want. Also they start with a card down already. Good luck." lol It was the first time I had to get outside help with something in the game. Obviously not the last, though! I got the platinum yesterday, and I feel proud of it, but a lot of the game design feels super mean spirited for no real reason.
@@jeggitv should have checked out my queen guide. She's super easy to take down. Just gotta play her at her own game. They teach you the mechanics very well but she is a huge difficulty spike compared to everyone else lol. My deck took me through everything but her.
Took me 180 hours and 40 minutes to platinum. Didnt get stuck on hard mode, sephiroth, gilgamesh, not the stupid frog jump game or tifas push ups... not even bonds of friendship. No, i got completely stuck on glide de chocobo 3 😂 done now though!
That's the funniest thing lol. It's like when you play dark souls and some people say that boss was easy where you struggled for ages and then visa versa lol. That's why I love games there's always differences with player experience it's amazing. Happy you got your platinum dude 😊
Im honestly Happy for everyone who managed to get plat. I gave up when i realised i had to spend days to get through the last 2 Legendary challenges. Thats all that stood im my way really. I had several brake downs and messed up my sleep pattern and for what? Its meant to be hard? Sure but why tf is Final Fantasy harder to plat than dark Souls?! It simply wasnt worth my mental health.
I can always do it for you dude, thats how i have so many plats in this video its from doing it for other people. If you are struggling with them. Theres a link on patreon. I know its stupid how hard it is, dark souls doesnt make you fight 10 things in a row lol

as for the final boss gauntlet. in action games like this, i HATE an undodgable, unblockable, uninterruptable attack.
like in kingdom hearts heartless angel exists. but there YOU CAN PREVENT IT by just hitting sephi fast enough.

on hard mode you cant stop red dragons fire floor unless you speed blitz kill it, which shouldnt be the intended strat and doesnt feel like the intended strat

Do all those people deserve those platinums since they didn't get it on their own? I haven't played the game yet myself since I have a whole list of games I want to play before I get to this one.
I would say yes. Considering it takes me like 30 mins to do the VR challenges for people and they have done the other 150 plus hours, that's a tiny % of what they have done in the game overall.
@@Solestro Ok that sounds fair, I sometimes get asked stuff like that myself when I use guides for games and I always respond that the guide doesn't play the game for me.

I wish the open world stuff was more fun, honestly. They should have made the content in each zone pretty much completely different. I'm not a fan of the fact that it's mostly just zones full of the same content (apart from the protorelic stuff, which was good apart from some annoying bits in the minigames) when they could have done so much more with it. The story is the highlight of this game, because I dunno, most of the content they have you doing outside of that is just kind of bland. The side quests in the towns and such were pretty good, though. My review of this game so far has been a joking (but serious about the number) "Shut up, Chadley. 8/10" and I don't really think that will change with time. It feels like this game was made for a certain type of gamer, who will intricately, and for hours, go over materia setups and learn every single mechanic to the utmost skill level (and you have to, or else the post game content will be impossible) and basically nobody else.
I'm thankful for the guides that you and Optinoob made, because I don't have time to do that stuff myself. I'm slogging my way through hard mode right now (the last trophy I have left for the plat) and I just know that the final boss is gonna be a nightmare. The game really does feel like it cheats in hard mode. The vast majority of the post game, for me, has been an exercise in persistence, because it's infuriating. lol

The hardest ones, or whatever the person deemed the hardest one for them , such as vr missions or the end of hard mode etc.
