Kevin knows where everything is. He is not running around in circles.
The fact that Kevin goes to the market is everything!
😊
I can’t believe how inexpensive the food is. You know how expensive cassava is in the States?!? Crazy Africa is truly blessed with Abundance!! I pray Africa and Africans continue to prosper
And to top that , food is organic. Africa the beautiful
Good job Kevin we want to see your wife cooking in the kitchen 😀.
Yes we want to see her cooking !
@@mitka9664 yes 👍.
Yes!
This is the real African economy. Unfortunately, people think that these African outdoor markets are only for the poor. I saw a study years ago that found that such markets make more money in a single day than any other sector of the African economy. Yet, we call them "the informal sector".
Absolutely you are correct! This is the informal sector of African economy where money changes hands quicker than other businesses.
this is so very true!! When my husband went to Dantokpa market in Benin, his mind was blown away 🤯He said to me "do you know how many transactions are happening here every second??? this is amazing!" 🌍💪🏾
I AGREE. THE PEOPLE WHO CONTROL THE MARKET SPACE, THAT CHARGE FOR THE USE OF IT, WHO GET MONEY FROM ALL THE OPERATIONS ARE MAKING A LOT OF MONEY. BUT THE POORER PARTICIPANTS ARE NOT.
THEY SIT IN THE HOT SUN, DIRT AND DUST ALL DAY FOR A PITTANCE. OVER 100,000 POOR GIRLS AND WOMEN FROM THE NORTH SLAVE AWAY AS 'HEAD PORTERS' FOR ALMOST NOTHING AND SLEEP IN THE STREET OR PILED INTO HOVELS, MAKING SOMEONE ELSE MONEY FROM THERE MISERY.
AND IT IS THE SAME IN EVERY COUNTRY THAT HAS ORGANIC MARKET PLACES. MANY RICH PEOPLE WORLDWIDE ARE RICH BECAUSE OF INCOME FROM THE WORST SLUMS ON EARTH. NEW YORFK CITY TOO.
@@newyorknewart bullshit. Like everywhere else, there is a small fee for leasing space. But nobody takes the money from the vendors. You guys just make stuff up.
@@lgnawa IT IS THE 'SMALL FEE' THAT IS THE POINT. I SAID NOTHING ABOUT TAKING VENDORS MONEY. SOMEONE CONTROLS THE LAND UNDER EVERY PUBLIC MARKET OR STREET MARKET WHERE BUILDING PROPERTY VALUES GO WAY UP AND SO DO RENTS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD READ WHAT PEOPLE REALLY SAY BEFORE MOUTHING OFF!
Anna is lucky to have u’Good Job 🙏
It’s a day to day struggle for the market vendors to make ends meet. However, at least the food is fresh without chemicals interfering with the quality of the produce.
It’s good to see your family supporting the local market vendors by buying their produce. However, the government must invest more of its funds on infrastructure and improving the environment so that people can trade in a clean and safe environment, that is free from toxic waste.
I agree with you 100%.
Ghana really needs to deal with waste management! Definitely a business opportunity!
We already have waste management facilities
@Sweet Bad idiot in agligleshi the government is working with some private sector in ghana to build 100 million dollars waste recycle plant. Maydo the government has commission I think 5 this year and the more under construction.
Whenever I see videos on shopping in the local market, I always get frustrated by the amount of small plastic bags that are being used. if the bag were larger there is a greater chance for them to be reused. Unfortunately, these small small bags will only end up in the landfill or the waterways. We have to figure out a way to get back to the days when we used baskets and reusable bags.
Ghana is an amazing place and if only the leaders would respect their citizens and make every effort to serve them, Ghana would be much much better than it is today with the people having to be free from hustling all day. Thank you, brother.
Family, I love you all !❤❤❤ Keep it up!✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
“Everybody deserves a chance at life” I agree a thousand present Kevin. Hopefully one day you have a business sustainable enough to give back and employ the communities you see struggling in Ghana. Love seeing you in the community
That tomato vendor gave you plenty of what we in Jamaica call, 'brawta'. Love your vlogs as usual. ❤
in Nigeria we call it 'jara" lol
Lol, I was noticing that too .nuff 'brawta' 😜😁😁😉
@@enobassey1258 jara too in Gh
Great and interesting video, but please Kelvin we always use our right hand to give and take money or anything else as culture demands in Ghana, and try to ask for reduction of prices the next time you go to the market. 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks and bless the Acheampong Family.
Good you supporting the small scale traders, trust me this money you are given them most goes into educating their children.
Lol u paaa ...
You think am lying?
@@cheendo7400 But education is virtually free in state schools.
@@conqueror7723 You think so?
@@cheendo7400 True... it's free on state schools..
$17 for all that!!!! Wow!!
I know right!
In the west/white man country all this will definately go for over a 100 dollars or more..
@@lukesky4690 I tell you.
And it's all fresh which is the best part!
Kevin, Ana is fortunate to have you do the market. Great job. I’d like to see more market videos. Do you guys know how to prepare any traditional meals? I’d like to see you guys prepare something as a family it would be fun to watch.
I guess I'm fortunate too, my husband does the market every week...who knew 😆 lol
@ Afro Millennial Momma my husband always brings home meat and crackers 😳. No veggies no fruit. Soo I do it 😆.
@@doucelait1 I send mine with a list 😊
Mr. Acheonmpong sure knows how to shop. Thumbs-up.
Coming to this places of market for groceries will limit the cost of living in Ghana for you and the family
This makes me want to organic fruits and veggies.
Very nice video, but we need to work on that issues concerning trash , environmental pollution, waste management. Very important to put urban sociology on top. On that all actor of society need to work on , not only president.
There are some people working on that. I watched a lot if Wode Maya's videos on YT.
Wow all that shopping for that amount 🤔. Interesting 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Hi family sending u guys love from the Caribbean islands
Thanks for supporting the locals. God bless!!!!
I am embarrassed 😳 with all the trash and garbage disposal in the lagoon.
for what you paid for a weeks worth of food , thats 1 youtube video with around 3000 views and the food is Fresh , please continue to support the local markets.
in Accra this is the biggest market I know off when I was in ghana I mean here is where u get fresh stuff
@Sweet Bad for veggies
Well done Kelvin but don't use ur left hand to collect or take or give...is abomination always use your right hand. This is Ghana
You think the indigenous of Ghana are stupid. From his look they will always think he's a foreigner who knows nothing of such. So worry not OK.
@@ginababy9117 but it is also good to know the culture of a place. Yes he hasn't been living in Ghana till now doesn't mean he must not learn the culture. You can't go to the Middle East and walk into a mosque or in the city or anywhere for that matter in short skirt etc without dressing properly according to their culture. You will not go to Israel and ask them to open the shop for you to buy something from 6pm on Friday to 6pm on Saturday. It's the sabbath. We must learn from each other and also correct people as and when appropriate.
Personally I don't care though. Its old fashion mentality
@@aberba personally you won't care... but we that are coming from home knows what we are talking about
Wow amazing I miss my country 😭 greetings from Amsterdam
Kevin my respect. I am proud of you. This video is so lovely. I will start shopping like in this your video. Anna is very lucky.
I will suggest nxt time if u want to buy a particular product, first ask about 4 ppl in different locations of da market. U will realise some hv lower prices for the same quality of product. eg the tomatoes u got 4 ghs 15.00 will be ghs 10.00 with another person in da same market. That is how i shop 4 variety
Mopri
@@rodneybekoe3833 😂😂😂
Lmaoo he got all those for that amount & you still want him to try other places ,Damn you must really want cheap stuffs
Great cost-saving move. The same food items would have cost you more than $200 if you had bought them from Accra Mall
GOOD COVERAGE AND PRICE INO. FOR ME, BEING FROM NEW YORK CITY, I WOULD JUST BE EMBARASSED TO GET THAT MUCH FOOD FOR THAT LITTLE. I KNOW YOU HAD A BUDGET AND DID WELL ON IT.
WHEN I GET THERE, I FEAR I WILL LET THEM ALL KEEP THE CHANGE, THE COMPARATIVE PRICES ARE SO LOW. HERE, THAT TABLE OF FOOD WOULD COST OVER $100. US, AT LEAST!
A FARMERS MARKET HERE, PRODUCE STRAIGHT FROM THE FARM, WOULD COST 10 TIMES OR MORE FOR ALMOST ANY OF IT. I WOULD HAVE TO GIVE THEM A TIP OF THE CHANGE.
Woow.... that's great info over there.
Alternately, it is New York City that should feel embarrassed and ashamed for price hiking and charging exorbitant rates for the necessities of human life: food, clothing and shelter. Africa prices are the accurate prices of a positive, service-to-others society, which NYC is not.
No you can't do that because if you leave all your change they will expect every foreigner to do it which can be frustrating to most of the foreigners.
& yet the Knk squad wanna talk shit about our country lol ,They the type to give the rest of the good African Americans a bad name
In Ghana/ Africa the left hand is not use to exchange money or anything. Learn that and you will be ok
Yeah, I saw that held my pearls.
Primer ves que 😨 veo este canal y me a gustado mucho 👍🙋🙋🙋🇺🇸🗽
Kevin I really love your videos.
More market video and cooking skills please Anna? Between you and kevin who is good at cooking? Let see that challenge 😅😅✌️💓
Kevin did an amazing job. I really miss yam and plantains so so much.
I like to be around Agblogbloshie Makola and kantamanto markets
It's so nice to see a Dutch-Ghanaian man doing the grocery shopping. African men that believes the kitchen is only for a women take notes.
Kevin acctualy enjoys cooking 😁
@@AnnaAcheampong Every Anna deserves a Kevin in their life who can literally do everything from grocery shopping, cooking, bed room stuff...... Kudos to you guys

Oh my gosh I miss a lot of those products here in 🇬🇧 and gosh the prices are damn cheap! I miss the fresh produce from Africa...can’t wait to be home :) lovely video as always!
Greetings King Acheampong, vegetables there are outrageously cheap. I agree with you that the trash situation there is totally out of control. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this video. I also enjoy the market environment and love going there myself!
And it’s very organic!! No GMO
That's a lot of food for 17 bucks
Right...wow❤️
Big lover of your videos and I've been a big lover for Ghana for a good amount of years, I was wondering what the public transport is like? Like traveling on buses or trains and was wondering if you could give us all a house tour of you and beautiful home
Kevin you did so good at that market. You knew just what to buy and how much you wanted. That market had so much, and all the fruits and veggies 🌶 were so beautiful in color. So I think you should go back to that market. 🤙✌🏽🇺🇸
Thank you 😊
Kevin, your video graphics was superb. I loved the topic covered today- very relevant. Here is an idea- between you and Anna, i see a Travel journalism company...👍
Super filmpje! Thnx!

Well done Son, you're very METICULOUS with your shopping👌👍💖.

Mind the left hand when receiving stuff. It can be hard especially if you are left-handed

Do Ghanaians still practice that foolishness?
@Anthony Owusu we as a people need to change our mindsets if we want to progress.

Nice market every item is very fresh, Direct from farm.
Pls make sure to check the tomatoes content in every tomatoes paste you buy.👍
Well done Kevin, keep it up
The plantain u got for 20 cedis could have been less price with another seller. But all the same u did a great job. Thumbs up for u.
Wow Kevin you are a champion in the market🤭 I think you know how to shop more than your wife 👍♥️♥️♥️🇺🇲🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
You should know about the young kids that work in the dump burning electronic waste for the copper. Asase Africa Foundation is trying to help them
Kavin is very polite, I like when you say medawose( thank you in twi)👍🏾❤
The poverty is astounding. They’re all entrepreneurs in these circumstances. We are resilient no matter were we are in this world.
Who told you Ghanaians are poor?
@@emelitaeast6400 did I say all Ghanaians are poor? No I did not. Re-read my comment and stop looking for trouble. He’s at a market and there is a open sewer behind the sellers. Do you know or understand what true poverty is?
@@LavishCoco English does not give me the words to say exactly what i mean. should I say it in my language? We speak very indirectly. By using "you" I do not refer to you as an individual. It's more like "the general opinion of foreigners" I'm talking about. Hugs
@@lillypatrick8481 if you’re not American be quiet. African Americans are not highly infected by COVID -19 . Stop with the fake and false propaganda. It is a waste management program so why isn’t the government dealing with it? In America there is no waste out like that. That’s disgusting and repulsive. So they’re not poor ? Really selling food in front of a sewer ? The toxins that are air born as well . Let me guess that’s not a issue right? Even in our open markets here in America it’s not filthy . There are a lot of African American farmers here. Stop it. You want to cause division when there is none. I said what I said. Good riddance.
Well done, just love you and yr fam. Blessings always
Amazing video Kevin 👍. God bless these market women, Ghanaian women who wake up early to work so hard to take care of their families 🙏
It is better than shopping at Shoprite/Accra Mall because you are helping the local economy and the market women who will use the money to send their children to school and pay for medicare, and more importantly most of the food in the markets is organically grown as opposed to the imported GM rubbish that you see in Accra Mall, West Hills Mall etc. Check out the world famous Makola Market and Katamanto ---- Cheers
What is the government and the individuals responsible for the electronic waste doing about the polluted areas and rubbish in Accra? Are they not aware?
You can start a recycling company to solve the problem. Do you wanna do it?

Love this content can’t wait to get back home n to the market blessed bro
Kevin shopping in a market with a clip board looool... new nick name for him
"Klipboard Kev"
Well done Kevin. African Man is serious about his food & his family. You protect them well, like when they got stuck at the braid salon because of the flood. You are also a blessed provider. Si ce you asked, if you know any market that is not so close to toxic waste, that is where I want to see you shopping next time. That has to stop. President Akuffo is said to have returned a container of toxic waste to the sender in Europe just before the borders closed. Maybe that is the start of the end of such practice.
Yo Kevin, fantastic video! A lesson for us fathers to ensure we participate in searching for healthy affordable food. Absolutely love how you show 100% respect for the vendors. Another great educational video. Wishing you all the best.
Pls always ask for a discount except when your money is overflowing in your pocket
Great video!!!
Awesome video, all that green looks good.
Organic foods❤
I like the way you wrote everything done on paper I am going to try it out
This is an economy where you literary put money in hands of the actual producer and their families not corporate entities like walmart which privatizes profits. We communicate as we buy, we talk, we greet and go back home feeling like human beings. Where can you get depression from??
