Zhongli is fantastic. As someone who has reduced hand eye coordination due to a medical condition, Zhongli made Genshin far more fun for me. I love my shielders! Don't let anyone tell you that you shouldn't pull a character, especially for meta reasons. Damage loss? You do even less damage when you're dead. LOL

Oof, reminds me of those people that say "jUsT dOdGe" when they don't realize that not everyone has the same reflexes they do for whatever reason (are as abled as they are) and to insult people that use shields because "they are cope".

If you pull Zhong… you never go wrong. There will be a moment in your ghenshin experience when you just want comfort. I think there is no account that regrets to have Geo daddy in the roster.

If you put beidou in place of zhongli you will lose a charge from his A1. different is layla or kirara that can do a reaction related to hydro, but it all depends on the composition. There are few teams where neuvilette c0 will get 3 charges from her A1. Solution? play rainbow team or take out your C1@@user-iw2vf7pb7s

@@user-iw2vf7pb7s Apparently he has a passive that buffs his attack when he performs a reaction with Hydro and another element, and yes, this includes Hydro Crystallize.
Another consideration for Zhongli is that his buffs are useful for basically every character that isn't a freeze carry, and he ends up being the best flex slot for most new characters with unconventional kits. Neuvillette for example is going to be one of the best characters in the game, and he doesn't have a better flex slot than Zhongli right now. That will continue being the case going forward with other characters.
The main reason I'm going to pull for him is because I suck at dodging and I like his voice

I am bad at dodging. Before I got Zhongli, I was flying left and right, it was awful.
I'm great at dodging, but it's still a DPS loss for many characters. Also, at least for my teams, it is a much faster rotation just to use Zhongli's shield and pick up a crystal for (-20%/+35%) compared to swirling each element, which takes at least 4-8 more seconds, for (-40%/+37.5). Add to that the time not spent dodging during the DPS window and setup rotation and the actual DPS ends up higher. Although a team like Yelan/Bennett/Jean/Yoimiya is more fun to play because of the speed and dodging, Zhongli/Yelan/Bennett/Yoimiya always finishes faster (meaning higher actual DPS).
Genshin really does not reward mechanical skill, compared to a game like Honkai where parrying and dodging were mandatory for maximum DPS. I think that's on purpose though so there's not a huge gap between mechanically skilled players and others. For the most part, most teams are "shielded" by the invincibility frames of their burst since that's 95% of their on-field time anyway.
- I would say you NEED him if you like charged-bow shot users - Ganyu, Tighnari, Lyney, Amber. It takes too long to aim and charge in a lot of cases and Zhongli eliminates that problem.
- If you're doing mono-geo, you NEED him.
- He's also clutch for Yoimiya and Xiao and Hu Tao teams. Yoimiya is easily interrupted and Xiao and Hu Tao are usually hanging around at lower health, and do most of the damage anyway.
- I would say otherwise he's "comfy" meaning he makes the game easier for survival, but harder for damage.
- If you're like me and you don't care to ever 36* the Abyss, then Zhongly is a no-brainer pull. He makes everything in the overworld or weekly bosses easier. Basically you pop his shield and you wail on the boss. Easy peasy.

Zhongli is my favorite male character. I got him during his first release because I thought he was cool (thanks in part to VA Keith Silverstein). He and Kokomi just make things easier. I don't always want a challenge especially if I am just grinding realms. Plus, I mostly play Yoimiya and I rarely have to worry about interruption.
I made the mistake of playing through Zhongli's story quests and now I kind of love him. Also, his 100% shield uptime is exactly what I want no one else has that because they can't reliably recast before a shield skill ends(at least I think so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). I will be invincible 💪!
Only layla, that has 100% uptime, but its a 4* so the shield is weaker

zhongli isnt a must have, but he definitely makes tasks easier. as someone who play casually (as well as the majority players), i prefer running around safely, without having to keep swapping characters as we see in dendro teams. zhongli is still in my regular comfort setup even in my ar 60 journey.
One thing to consider about Ganyu: Lyneys bow is really good for her, but if you use it, you want a second cryo unit in her team even with melt, making Layla or Diona probably being on par with Zhongli, and you don't have to spend a ton of wishes for them since they are 4 stars.
eh, 18% atk is good but it doesn't make up for 20% shred (16.6% more damage from Ganyu + Xiangling). Lyney already has pyro shred from Xiangling so i'd say he is less dependent on having big zhongli.
Zhongli is the first (and only) 5-star I deliberately took to max constellation.
His playstyle makes the game super easy sure, but it also makes it super cheap. Cause now i can just play anyone and just enjoy them without feeling like I'm missing out on damage by not pulling for constellations....cause they are more than good enough at C0 with a C6 Zhongli and random C4-C6 4 stars that fit the need.
Zhongli was in my recent team in second half in abyss that helped me get my highest score to date with 33 stars.

As a believer in geo supremacy, will wish for him 🗿(started Genshin in 3.3 so no Zhongli yet)
PSA: The new craftable polearm (Rightful Reward) is actually pretty good on him, especially if you want to use his burst frequently. While it doesn't have as much hp as black tassle, the energy regeneration it provides makes it much easier for him to get his burst, which can be difficult since he is usually the only geo character on a team. Fav can still be a better choice if you need the particles for the rest of the team but he does sacrifice some shield strength because of the energy recharge stat on it.

one thing to add is that zhongli is pretty nice for tighnari/yae spread too, since yae + tighnari benefit a lot from shields, and the only usable one is zhongli imo ( the other kinda have it s own cons)
you also can go with Baizhu that provides heal, a paper shield that basically is made to prevent interruption, dendro resonance, can hold deepwood and apply some more dendro :)
Well no, they don't benefit from shielding really. They only benefit from res shred. Yae just has to do three skills while Tighnari has an instant charged shot.
Diona is also a good shielder here because she can hold deep wood and buff Tighnari's EM, or Yae's when she uses her elemental burst.
@@kawaiimika7974zhongli can also hold deepwood, and yes they do benefit from his shield. Tighnari really doesn't want to be interrupted while doing his charged attacks and Yae too while casting her E. Also diona's em boost is only at c6 and her cryo application can mess with quicken sometimes

As someone who missed his first run in 1.1 and got him in his rerun in 1.5 I can honestly say he is still one of the most valuable units I've ever pulled to this day despite what most theory crafters say, he enables so many hyper carry teams and is great as a solo sustainer with self healing dpses like lyney and hu tao, or with Xingqiu for pocket healing on ur dps
Mostly I clear boss and trounce with Zhongli, i am a mobile player, i suck at dodging and too lazy to learn attack patterns. He is the comfort character and I even triple crown him. (Coz in the future I'm gonna build him physical). Staff of homa helps him make some good damage. He's also very useful in exploration. It is so satisfying to mine multiple rocks or ore with his skill.
Thanks for the video! Despite Zhongli often being a damage loss, I think that overall Zhongli is the best character in the game: although he's far from the best character for Abyss, he looks and sounds wonderful, he has very interesting and cool lore, his animations are insane and he is one of the most if not the most comfortable character for openworld in the game! He's just marvelous!
Zhongli became my favourite character right off the bat! The moment I saw zhongli I knew he was the character I wanted at ALL COSTS!! So I dont care what role he plays, how much damage he does or if he has good shielding or not, I'm just gonna pull for him when the banner comes out!! Just love the character design and the personality!!

I’m hoping that navia might somehow revive two in some way (although I’m not totally sure how she does it to be honest) in turn maybe buffing Zhongli, gorou, maybe Itto in some way.
Also I always find it funny that Hoyo created rift hounds to specifically counter Zhongli and hurt people that use him in the abyss. Savage move.
@@xsnipermattymacx I have mono geo cleared many of the rift hound floors on Abyss. It's a skill issue if they're a problem for anyone.
@@lihavalokki5705 that’s what I was alluding to. Anyone that relies on his shield heavy and can’t dodge gets crushed. I’ve found some time struggles with some of the Lector floors with mono geo but throwing Bennett in instead of albedo helps.
Well bennet is not saved from the nerf either with HP and EM characters, with dendro and enemies like the beasts of the abyss where taking Bennet is pure suicide. @@xsnipermattymacx

My one issue with Zhongli is that he created unhealthy mentality (mostly among casual playerbase) of "if shield doesn't allow player to ignore enemies until the end of time, it's trash".
Better than if it doesn't do insane dmg so I can beat floor in seconds it's bad

@@dream6562 I don't think that's as big of a problem today as it was in early days of Genshin when most online content came from whale content creators who had (and still have) 0 idea about game mechanics and propagated idea (coming from even more predatory & P2W gachas) that you need to spend and max out "top tier" characters or you won't do anything. Fortunately now Genshin CC scene got better and more people understand that you don't need to deal 1 million dmg to clear Abyss.

2: even in the teams that do run bennet what matters is the interruption resistance not the inmortality and its teams that are not gonna be running any xingqiu or beidou, like ganyu and lyney

Main reason I wanna pull for him is he's just a comfort/convenience character (mainly in the open world) I don't think I'll even use him at all in abyss except maybe for my wanderer if I have trouble. Also, gotta collect all the archons and harbingers

I have been waiting for Zhongli for a year and I will be getting him
I started playing in April 2021 because i saw a fan art of his birthday art. In 2023 and i STILL DO NOT HAVE HIM WHYYYY.
So so excited to try it out can’t wait even though I’d have to find good artifacts
I don't regret getting Zhong Li, definitely one of my favorite characters and I wish I could have 2 for each one of my teams lol. He's very comfy to play with but he does feel like a damage loss. I say just get him because he's beautiful and you will find him useful one way or another.
I don't use Zhongli on a bunch of teams but there are some teams that feel far more fluid to play with him on it and on those teams he doesn't feel like a damge loss because my character gets to keep attacking instead of taking time to dodge and messing up the attack chain. I have used Yoimiya without Zhongli but stopping her attack chain to dodge and have the chain reset and lose out on her hits with the biggest multipliers sucks. There are other shielders but Zhongli has more utility and won;t interfere as much with reactions. Plus his resistance shred and using either tenacity or Archiac he can still provide buffs as well as be a great battery. Also on my mono geo team he is the only one that can shred resistance for geo.

I Was very tempted for the ease of play he'd bring, but I did end up getting yelan just yesterday, one thing I found with kazuha, is that I'm starting to find him a little bit boring because I want to use him all the time.
A lot of my enjoyment from this game comes from switching things up and trying different characters, I feel like if I get zhongli, I'd have another unit that I'd just want to use all the time because I'd feel like I'm being less efficient/having to work harder without them.
As tempting as he was I think I'll stick with Layla and kirara for shielding, and yelan is my first 5* hydro too so that took priority.
I do think I'll pull for him some day though, even if I just limit his use, that domain with the dropping icicles would become much less of a pain.
I use him in hyperbloom team it works so well with yelan raiden nahida, zhongli keeps everyone alive
Pulling for him cause he is purely one of the coolest, if not the coolest, characters in the game. Just a bonus that he has really good uses
I want Zhongli mostly for Yoimiya. I got her during the consecrated beasts Abysses, and I really wish I had him.
One more consideration: If you are playing at least partly on tablets, pull him 🙂

Zhongli needs c2 to shield other players
Well, for co-op, you want that C2. Otherwise, you have a character that brings poor DPS, poor particle generation, has an element that doesn't set up useful reactions, is usually the only geo, so no geo resonance, and, well, doesn't do much at all other than protect his own bacon. He's one of the characters I like to see the least when I'm playing co-op, because his being there is about as close as you can get to not having a 4th player at all. Of course, with C2, then he shields the team, so then he's okay. You still feel the negative impact on clear time over other defensive options, but will have a better time than without one.
Note though that this is for co-op. In solo play, he's quite useful, because you have three other characters that can be on the field doing things, and his shield is there for them. Co-op, without C2, just makes all his weaknesses even bigger, and undercuts his strengths as well.
Don't bring Zhongli in co op if he's not C2. I don't want to see him
There is literally ZERO downsides to having zhongli, well… apart from the fact that he makes the game extremely easy
Making the game easy is not a downside, our mission as warriors is to take down the enemy. With Zhongli on our side, victory is even more assured.
as a melt ganyu enjoyer, winning that 50 50 on zhongli's banner was game changing
Laylas shield automatically applies to coops when used after her c1.... So i don't know if a constellation 2 for a 5star character is worth just to apply a shield to an ally after his BURST.
Team mates shields from C1 Layla is like wet paper even with 40k HP.

But i also think that co-op is always better of with a healer rather than shielder.
tl;dr unless your you wanna main Yoimiya, Melt Ganyu, Mono Geo, or to a lesser extent Hypercarries and Hu Tao, Zhongli is more of an overworld unit than an abyss unit.
There’s no real need for a shield in the overworld though, even most overworld bosses die in seconds. As for Hu Tao and hypercarries, I would argue that they’re past Zhongli at this point, Hu Tao’s best team replaces him for Xiangling, Wanderer and Xiao can easily swap him for Thoma, or C4 Yanfei with TTDS for the latter.
@@vladdyru yea that’s why I said “to a lesser extent” lmao. As a wanderer main, I’m perfectly aware that Zhongli is probably his lowest damage option in terms of shielders. That being said, he is my personal top pick for overworld since he has good uptime and his shield isn’t tied to a burst. Plus he can mine rocks. If damage doesn’t matter in overworld why not make it a lil bit easier for yourself? This is just my opinion tho, and I use Zhongli just because I happen to pull him way back when I was under the misconception that he was “s tier”. If I were to recommend him to a newer player I probably wouldn’t if they care about abyss.
he's a great flex slot for plenty of team & I still think he beats every other shielder in overworld. Hyperbloom, Al haitham, etc. I've even used him for Raiden hyper when the kenkis are annoying.
Is he needed in the current era of Genshin, no. Is he worth pulling for, absolutely, I pulled him back during lantern festival right after Shenhe was first released and is easily my top 3 favorite characters.
The best part is if you place him on a team for spiral abyss you can completely skip having a healer, his shield is that good.
Currently at 72 pity also guaranteed cant wait to pull him!

If you're not someone who's only purpose of existence is to 36,star abyss as fast as possible with big numbers. You can NEVER regret Zhongli. He's simply a GODMODE button.
honestly you deal no damage if your dead, so if you got the damage you need with just 3 units his shield will keep your big dps alive and not flinching from hits
fair take on alhaitham spread, although i think that at higher levels of investment that shinobu will likely overtake him due to her ability to hold both instructors set and key of khaj nisut at c4
however, while she heals she doesnt give you interruption resist so that could be argued
IMO his usefulness is like a bimodal curve. High utility early/midgame, completely useless endgame, and then back to high utility for comfort if you reach whale investment.
Below 27-star Abyss, I found that my biggest problem was dying. Specifically I remember the hydro zoo floor felt impossible to get through. Zhongli solves that problem.
From 27-36 star, and now at consistent 36, he is useless. The problem is no longer dying but time, and Zhongli doesn't help there. If I need defense, rather have on-element for the slot.
Even consecrated beast cycle, main source of failure/reset was over 3 minutes, not death. Sometimes I even sub in more offense less defense if I need a target chamber clear.

C2 makes him less of a DPS loss since you dont have to hold his skill just to get a shield while making his ult give a shield AND deal a lil bit of damage. A part of why he's called a DPS loss is bc of his long ult animation which does not exactly the biggest damage so slapping a shield on his ult is kinda huge
I really wish that they would make it so that Crystalized Shields would also increase DMG for both, Geo and the corresponding Element by a reasonable percentage based on the EM of whoever created the Geo reaction. It could at least translate to more DMG, and it would make both, Zhongli and Albedo even better potential support characters in that regard.
For me personally i don't think I'll ever get Zhongli unless i decide to collect all of the archons or something. I feel like other shield characters are just better purely because of how bad geo is. C4 Yenfei and Layla have incredible shields if you need them and their elements are more necessary for reactions. I don't think he's necessary for Ganyu either because if you're playing melt ganyu you can just use tankfei and for freeze you can use Layla. I hate the mono geo teams personally and it feels a lot worse then even playing a physical team or something imo
I have a c2 Zhongli. Thank you for the in-depth analysis I think you hit the nail on the head. Zhongli is probably the only essential Geo unit in the game. The rest are luxury. I have a c2 (c1 1.1 ) then c2 at 1.5. I love his c2 and very rarely hold skill now. I also agree I've had a Zhongli, Albedo core since (1.3) and can tell you now it is the most comfy and brain-dead core you can have. Both skills and forget with a low cool down. With c2 Zhongli (holding a Fav Lance) he's my team battery too constantly funnelling energy particles into whoever is currently on the field. Since version 3 I have used him less but that doesn't diminish how he carried me through the abyss all the way up to 3. Just having a Zhongli on my account makes me feel comfortable at knowing regardless of how aggressive the abyss gets I'll be able to survive (The Zhongli, Albedo core was so good from 1 - 3 that 3-member abyss with Noelle was viable). Geo might be the worst element (disregarding physical) in the game for meta but its characters are the best designed. From throwing rocks, summoning meteors, transforming into the thing, and summoning a huge buster sword. Aesthetically it is the best-designed element in the game. Under the right circumstances, its mono team has the highest raw damage ceiling than any other mono team.
Hes one of my favorites he's my shield and healer good value for me. Got mine c6 with r5 homa used him before he was buffed. I think for myself its good value his increasing the damage my characters do aswell as healing and shield, only heals because c6. I like using him on most teams but mono cryo favorite Kazuha, Zhongli, Shenhe and Ganyu
It's an easy skip for me, the only issue i run into is screwing up my rotations and getting flung and stuck into the air for a full minute as punishment lol, I don't play Ganyu and I don't have anyone necessary for Mono Geo, so I think I'm safe to continue saving for Venti to make my freeze team terrifying. I played genshin without a shielder for the entire year since i started playing after zhongli's banner expired. Now I've got him, i can see how my hu tao team improved.
Im not really sure if I really want him, I would only use it in mono geo and maybe in a ganyu melt but I think that pulling neuvillete will be a better option just because of playstile and gameplay.
also, dont worry abaut geo resonance in monogeo, if you use itto albedo and gorou you can use a healer like kuki or even a off field dps like fischel and yae and you will always have a cristalize shied on
Zhongli was one of the units I considered essential for my account, making it clear that I'm not into Abyss meta. Still considered an important component, but I was amazed at how I don't put him on more teams these days. The only teams I use him as a mandatory component are Hu Tao double Hydro and Double Geo with Ningguang and he is flex on my Eula team. And it still has the mining meta, clearly the reason for pulling him.
is your hutao c0 or c1 ? is playing her at c0 good or bad ? Its already difficult to get a 5 star (as f2p/lowspender), and if have to get a constilation on top of that then 😑😑😑

@@BlankSama For me, yes, it is good to have him in your account. But the question is whether you can and want. My case is, when I looked at his banner on 3.0 I was comfortable with primogens, I didn't worry too much about how long it would take for a rerun because archons have a more consistent cycle than other characters (his last rerun was in 2.4) and I like Zhongli. So do you want to get him now for future characters, or do you want to build a roster that you enjoy to play and then get him later?
My Hu Tao is C0 and I got her way after Zhongli in her rerun with Yelan (also C0). Using jump cancel is weird sometimes but is not a "you totally need this con, otherwise this character is unplayeble", as far as I know it's an increase in comfort. For what I have now, Zhongli is very good for her, but I could use other options like Layla and Diona, but I would need to change my rotation play. I prefer Zhongli because I find it comfortable and I'm sure I can use Hu Tao's skill until it runs out and not early.
For Ningguang, for me it's an obvious case, Zhongli is the best for her: apart from protection, he gave defense shred for all elements and also there is Geo resonance, which is good for her. I haven't been playing with her that much and my artifacts are garbege, but if you're willing to invest on her, Zhongli is one of her best teammates.
But again, what do you want and what you can do?

Hi Jello, im new to Genshin and got Candace. Loving the playstyle of her. By any chance if posible. Can you do a Candace overall guide for 2023?
she is OKish at C6, pretty bad with low constellations. Also, very few comps she can be useful so far, besides Nilou bloom teams. Let's hope new units will make her more relevant in the future.
Some notable mention, I would like to add, is that there are Emblem builds for DPS oriented build of Zhongli, inside Goro teams. And there is a possibility of meme Pillar build of using the new Golden Troupe, which will increase his pillar dmg.
Debating for zhongli because yes, I have yoimiya and hu tao I’d love to play more, but these abysses have started needing specific elements to break shields or deal with certain mechanics and geo isn’t one of them, only wolf lord which if they rerun wolf lord this up coming abyss im going to be livid, but will most likely run hyperbloom and add in yun jin.
He’s good for Yoimiya if you have a well-invested Yun Jin. For Hu Tao, however, you’d be much better off with simply slapping Xiangling in Hu Tao’s usual double hydro team. Frankly, recent abysses are terrible for Yoimiya, so I would advise to consider skipping him, as it’s not worth trying to make the dying team work.

@@vladdyru cosigned, as someone with zhongli and a well invested team (r5 rust w/ 200CV, jade cutter XQ, c6 yunjin). The difference between clearing and not clearing is more likely going to come from dropping geo entirely and doing something difficult to play for AOE and element checks. For example beidou XQ fischl/bennett. Its still okay so long as your other side is overinvested/really good lately.
I've been fine with c4 Yanfei as my shielder for Melt Ganyu. Bennett is on the team anyway so Yanfei doesn't have energy problems. True, Zhongli would be an upgrade, but I don't think it's enough to warrant pulling for him in my case. Mileage may vary depending on player, of course.
He wouldn’t even be that much of an upgrade, you get so much from the pyro resonance and TTDS, that his shred might even fall short of all those buffs. Besides, I would argue that his pillars that are all over the place are especially annoying on Ganyu.
Zhongli pillars are especially bad if you're running the Nahida Melt Ganyu version because the crystallizes can throw off the Tri-karma timing and make you drop burning when you don't want to. Definitely think c4 Yanfei or even Dehya is the better pick specifically for that one.
But whether running Nahida there instead of a real Dendro team is worth it is another story. I've used it against flying bosses like Wenut, but would normally just say stick to the Xiangling version.
Got him at 2 pity with the starglitter i got after losing my 50/50 to Qiqi. My Ganyu's finally complete.
I know how good zhongli is but I don't know if I need him, but hopefully, i will know it after watching this video
geo resonance works with crystallize shield. a shielder is not a must. so any 2 geo units, with 2 other pyro/hydro/cryo/electro is perfectly fine. doube geo double hydro is easily the best

I’m probably going to skip Zhongli for Focalors (sorry grandpa!) but he’s def in my top 3 characters I want, hopefully will get him during his next re-run!
I pulled him on his first rerun near my starting account he’s top A tier for universal support and comfort but also suffers from being defensive Geo character who doesn’t offer much like Diona, he’s easy skip mostly cause Furina is coming soon but also he’s more optimized with Yoimiya and Ganyu players or just Geo fans.
I havent pulled all year in hopes of getting my zhongli to C6. Its been a long case of blue banner on my account. I hear he is out again soon. I'm about to bust my primogems load all over that banner.
I got him since I main Yoimiya, but I really love his burst, DPS loss or not, so I have him on a cracked Noblesse hybrid build.
Hey, Jello. You mentioned hu tao with double hydro and fischl multiple times on your channel, but I haven't managed to find on the internet any pros and cons of running fischl and I wanna figure out why is that the highest damage hu tao team. I'm just on the fence because i think sucrose sharing EM and shredding hydro ress with VV provides more damage overall, but I'm not sure. Could you please lead me somewhere where I can learn more about that team variation. Thank you for your videos
Fischl provides a 3rd sub dps which increases the overall team damage by a mile because of overload and because fischl’s damage is already insane.
I have the full Ganyu team except for Zhongli and my current replacement is Diona. I reaaaally need a bigger shield because hers is just not cutting it in the abyss.
As a returning player I wanted Zhongli, but after playing without him through Inazuma, Sumeru and the Abyss... I realized I didn't need him anymore. I'd probably pull for him if I was a mobile player because I'm still not used to the inputs + performance issues, but for now, he is not a priority. ESPECIALLY with some big units in the horizon.
I didn’t really need him. I have a BUSTED Layla for my shielding, so I felt I was gonna get him later, as I am saving for Monsieur Neuvillette, but I got him by total accident early, by pulling for Freminet. I’ll try building him :)
I pulled for zhongli for one team, Ganyu melt and in almost 2 years only have used him in that team, where i couldve been fine with diona. I used him in overworld a little, but after getting kokomi he is just dead weight in my account since i dont use ganyu that much nowadays. Not as bad of a pull as ayato for me, but i wouldn't have pulled him if it was today
As a C2 Zhongli plus Staff of Homa haver, I wish all Zhongli wanters to be Zhongli havers and good luck on their pulls!
Added tip: Another f2p pole option to use is The Catch (via fishing), especially when you can easily R5 it. The 45% ER is nice for frequent bursts, has added 32% burst damage and increases crit rate by 12%.
I went Zhongli C2 for co-op as I frequently co-op with friends and also for weekly bosses. A tip for a co-op build is to add a bit more ER so you're bursting more often to proc the burst that gives shields to the team.
i hope we get more pulls before raiden banner ( i lost 50/50 to diluc and then got zhongli in like 50 pity )
Zhongli + Homa its became a funtional shield. I dont have Albedo, but with Itto go smooth.
Big Dong Zhong has carried me through this whole game since his first banner. He is in 90% of my parties. Getting interrupted is incredibly annoying. His CC is super useful and does decent damage. When the game was new, I would say he was mandatory, but nowadays, Diona and Layla are very good shielders as well. I do have to say, his ingame benter gets old real fast. If I have to hear about osmanthus wine one more time...
I was considering doing a YOLO 10 pull for him....but I accidentally pulled by mistake yesterday. No 5 star but I got Barbara to C3 instead of possibly getting Freminet 💀
Zhongli is an "enabler" for fragile characters, like Yoimiya, Ganyu, pre-C4 Yanfei, Ningguang, maybe more. Zhongli is a buffer due to his resistance shred and you say his HB team with Nahida/Raiden/Yelan rules. Also, he looks like me, I cannot but pull for him. What stops me a tiny bit is that 1) I have C5 Layla - but I am not sure sure about her shield toughness, and 2) the 4* characters on the banner are not the characters I like most. Maybe I should try building pity on the current banner while it is still active...
I want zong li for his looks and i wanna try every character in my account as dps without leveling them up.And also for mining, I ahve ganyu too with layla

I'm honestly torn between Zhongli and Tartaglia. I fear that I will probably need to wait. I barely have any primos saved up, cause I got Kokomi for Nilou bloom, but Zhongli probably won't have another rerun until Natlan. As for Tartaglia, no one really knows, so there's that too...
if you want a hydro on field dps unit, get Neuvillette, he's probably going to be better (unless you love Tartaglia).

Would the new craftable fontaine polearm be really good for him as it's an HP% main stat? I know the effect is minimal and will most likely not trigger ever
the HP stat is lower than the Black Tassel which is a 3-star gacha weapon, and Zhongli doesn't really need ER so imo it's just more worth it to build the Black Tassel
And Black Tassel has a somewhat better drip than Rightful Reward for Zhongli

Yeah, I'm fine with C6 Layla. I'll keep him on hold till I have others I want more (Alhaitham, Neuvillette, Raiden, Navia, Furina, Ayato, and a few upcoming ones, if they're cool).
