I make junk journals and use them in my craft all the time. My grimoire is made from junk papers- things most people would throw away. Hi Richalyn! I love that we shared a cup of chamomile tea and some (witch)craft time together. I love that you use junk journals regularly in your craft. There's something so special about making the books yourself
The building where I live had a community library but we decided to do a renovation and they were just going to throw all the books away. So I grabbed a few old Reader's Digest condensed books with the hope of making them into altered books. Alas thus far they are just sitting in a corner untouched. I really need to start making something beautiful out of them. Thanks for the inspiration!

Children's hard back books can be great for this too. It can be lovely to use a book that is no longer being read but was once much-loved into a journal for memory keeping.

Beautiful! I absolutely LOVE it! I am feeling inspired to dig out a book I was working on but sort of abandoned. I felt guilty that I didn’t finish it but hearing you say we can always go back to it & add things is encouraging 💕 And thank you for mentioning that it took you a long time because it’s easy to get discouraged when we see creators making these beautiful things with seemingly no effort. 🍄🌺🦋

I made an AB out of an old "men who made America great" book and turned it into "WOmen who..." and THAT was healing. :D I tend to worship the soul of a book, not its corpse, though as a literature professor in university, I certainly get the desire to preserve them as precious. It's just that, to ME, art is also precious, and if a book is destined for recycling (which often just gets dumped in a landfill after the recyclers pick it up), then... I don't feel bad about it. That's just ME though.
