Does your Mother Come From Ireland
There's a Hooley on In Hannigans House Tonight
      Mother Macree
      If Your Irish
All the old Irish songs. So disappointing. At least we had no Diddley di eye anyway.

The Irish themselves have no respect for saint Patrick's day with many of them calling it "Paddy's day" As for the religious aspect of the day that to has also disappeared and is replaced by drunkenness and foul language. The modern day parade is a joke and can only get worse.

There is nothing in this video that represents Saint Patrick … very disappointing .

In fairness, for years every single Irish parade had a St. Patrick character & a serpent.... for years,
      Every year
Folk are just doing other colourful things, like Mardi gras
If you were really interested, the Catholic Church celebrates mass, completely through the Irish language on this particular day... all over the country. Usually, that only happens in Gaeltacht areas

      @@lifeafter9to5 You're welcome.
The parades have evolved over the years & represent the time they take place in.
When Ireland was celebrating the 1916 rising in 1966 it was more military, for years it was very dull during the recession with commercial businesses making little or no effort with floats. Community groups were often just walking in their club outfits/club strip
It's become more artistic & multicultural with Ireland having so many cultural influences.... and the government has gotten very aware of 'Brand Ireland' so they started investing arts & entertainment for the day...

If you honestly think there was a St. Patrick you need to get a life. It is a pagan festival.
