  • Glen is here on a little adventure into the city centre of Dublin to Celebrate Saint Patrick's day, I cycle in and see how crazy the town is during this yearly celebration where everyone goes crazy and drinks a lot of beer 🍺 Saint Patrick's day is to celebrate bringing Christianity to parts of Ireland.

Nice video but you need to get your facts right. St Patrick was not brought to Ireland in 102 BC. According to Patrick's autobiographical Confessio, when he was about sixteen, he was captured by Irish raiders from his home in Britain and taken as a slave to Ireland. He writes that he lived there for six years as an animal herder before escaping and returning to his family. After becoming a cleric, he returned to spread Christianity in Ireland. This happened in the 5th century AD.

Christianity wasn't popular in Ireland in 100 BC, maybe because it didn't exist yet. Small clue BC stands for before Christ, AD for Anno Domini. Words fail. Sorry, one last word on this, St Patrick didn't drink Guinness he preferred Murphys.

Not as bad as you say, have seen better, worse and the same globally. I have worked in the city for 40 years and loved working there, better any day than some soulless business park off the M50 . Had the experience and dumped it quickly. I agree as a Dubliner Temple Bar is a Kip, but it serves a purpose for who ever, I’m too old and can’t be arsed. All cities have their pluses and minuses and I have been in many, don’t be too hard on Dublin😀😀

this is what i mean, st patrick isnt being celebrated at all, just being used as an excuse to throw a party. If you were to ask the majority there who st patrick was or what he did, they wouldnt have a clue. Im proud of being irish but what happens in these big parades does nothing to quell the stereotypes about us and certainly doesnt celebrate anything on the history of patrick
