💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

Here in Rochester in the path of totality , we had heavy cloud cover. Lots of visitors did come , but the show was not as good as it could have been without the clouds. I live just a stone's throw from Lake Ontario. Watched it from my upstairs window and saw it go dark , but all street lights and lot lights came on , so it looked like a normal night. Oh well...
I'm in Northeast Ohio, we were expecting full cloud cover but lucked out. The day was BEAUTIFUL and the eclipse was sooooo cool.

We were also quite fortunate here in New Brunswick. It was a beautiful sunny day which was surprising since our weather wasn’t great last week and we tend to be rainy and cloudy in the spring.
I'm glad you covered the Eclipse. Not everyone had the opportunity to travel. Where we live in Tennessee, we got about 3/4 of an Eclipse. My youngest son is 20 and Autistic. He was really into the Eclipse. He took alot of pictures and video! ❤ It didn't get as dark here, we had NO cloud cover, which was great! However, you got some awesome video! It really showed the Eclipse beautifully!

Thank you for sharing this video. Here in central PA, the cloud cover was so thick that I couldn’t see the sky, much less the sun. I could’ve saved the money I spent on a pair of eclipse glasses.
Total eclipses are totally awesome. I saw mine in 1979 in Idaho. I was in the 8th grade. Wish I could have come and visited Hercules Candy, but alas I could not. 😢

I am in Pittsburgh and we only had 95% but it is cool to see other places that had totality.....a lot of people headed to Erie to watch it and seeing the pictures on the local news of the traffic going to and coming back from Erie was crazy. One of the local weather guys went up to cover it for one of the local stations....took till almost 10 pm to get back to Pittsburgh from Erie and it is only a 2 hour car ride.

In indiana we were able to see the full eclipse it was amazing right when the moon was covering the sun all the dogs in my neighborhood were going nuts and the birds that were flying had no clue where to go.
We had blue skies and 98% totality in North Conway, NH. It was still pretty light outside, just a little darker. The shadows on the ground were really cool though. Shadows of tree limbs looked almost 3D. And it did get pretty quiet and a lot colder! Dropped about 10 degrees!
It's so interesting how it affected things in ways you don't anticipate until you experience it!
The shadows were so cool - we followed the recommendations to look at the shadows cast by the holes in a colander - little slivers of light

We got to see the Eclipse here in Dallas. Our usual order is the Smores and Cookie and Cream bark and a pound box of Almond Brittle.
I saw pictuers of the Texas one, I think you guys had a better view than us!
@@HerculesCandy We got lucky with the clouds breaking up enough to see it. It was very awe inspiring, beautiful, and wild at the same time. Of course we had torrential storms later that night because we are in tornado season, but that’s Texas for ya.

Yeah it was cool seeing how the birds reacted and the street lights turning on and part of the sky being lit up and other parts being dark.

In Portland we got 20% and we had clouds, but I did get to see the one in 2017 because we were in the path of totality for that one. I am sorry you had cloud cover.

Did u say traffic? Oh my word!! We live in MO but drove to West Plains & saw it. Traffic going wasn't too bad. But going home it was both lanes bumper to bumper 3/4 of the way home, literally. Which you probably saw.

I thought about heading up your way from Maryland, but I was going to drive the day of in the morning and drive back after, but I decided 6 hours there and the probably 164361 hours to get home wasn't worth it. I already saw the last total eclipse, so I knew what I was missing. I was very close to going though😆.

At least you guys got a glimpse of the sun , I live west of you down the thruway we had zero sun ☀️But it was very cool when it got pitch black .
We live in Amish County Ohio and we were able to 2 of the other planets during the solar eclipse.
I live in Greece ny and was looking forward to seeing the eclipse but only saw cloudy skies but seeing it going dark was cool thought

It was surreal being at the store in real life! Got to meet Karen and Terri but I felt like I was in a weird video game. Got way too much candy. And much of it is gone already. The sour apple hard candy was so flavorful and so sour. Five stars!

I was able to watch it on the NASA website because it was solid cloud cover and raining here in Louisiana!

Wasn’t it wild?! We let our kids stay home that day and had the grandparents over. None of us had ever experienced it before and our skies were pretty clear after weeks of the Dallas.Ft. Worth meteorologist waffling about if we would be able to see it. lol

We had over four minutes of almost cloud-free eclipsin' here in central Texas. It was truly magical. 🌑 But I'm not happy in Texas, either. 💙
