This film was great. Hailee was so impressive, i mean really. In most films, child or teenage actors/actresses aren't that convincing. In fact, usually for teen dramas they hire young adults. But her performance was just spot on and probably the best in the film. Jeff Bridges was excellent but i thought she was better. I wonder if she is worthy of an oscar nomination? :p
Criinge
@@spockbeeblebrox4216 lol yeah this is kinda cringe but c'mon Bernardo I was 15 when I wrote this. You seriously commenting on something written nearly a decade ago?
@@Paperbagman55512 years, now. Wild. I think it’s a cute comment anyhow.
@@Paperbagman555 Not even that cringe, she's great in the movie, even 13 years after you wrote that comment ha.
I want an interview with the bear man.
I never thought I would say this....Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld are better than the original.
Never underestimate the Coen Brothers.
Nope
@@JiveDadson yes
Nope nope nope
I think there is an argument to be made between Wayne and Bridges but Steinfeld’s portrayal is much better than Darby’s.
Jeff Bridges seems like a very very nice guy. Glad to see there are good actors who are also genuinely nice people in this business
that girl is a veryy good actress
I love how Jake always impresses the actors with is film knowledge. He's awesome!
I think I just fell in love with Hailee.
Seriously, for last couple of moths your interviews are amazing and extremely satisfying in terms of questions. Good Job man! I'm looking forward for your next interviews.
One of the better movies I've seen in a while. Also one of the better interviewers I've seen in a while.
Josh Brolin has had an amazing career. He is a part of the Marvel Universe (as two separate badasses), he was in No Country For Old Men (one of the best modern westerns), True Grit (one of the greatest westerns), Goonies, Men In Black, and Catch Me If You Can... just to name a few. Like the man has been in soooo many successful movies.
great interviews!!! your questions are thought-provoking, you know your stuff, and you can reference movies the actors have done!! BRAVO!!
yeah seriously, good job on these interviews, keep it up sir!
I cannot wait to watch True Grit! It looks amazing, such a great cast and made by the Coen brothers! Ahh I'm excited :D
Great interview too!!
Hey Jake, I like how you do that questioning.."in this movie, your character _____....in real life, how would you ______"....your sarcasm playfulness is fun too. I love how you're the biggest fan of everyone. that's awesome. keep up the great interviews!
great interviews!!!
LOVED the movie & the book!
It’s really hard to say which film is better both are so great
Jake's right. If anyone tries to ever remake The Big Lebowski they need to be fought.
awesome question man! nice to hear a variation from the normal ones asked over and over again!
It just dawned on me, how I've seen Josh Brolin in a number of interviews where he seems to be doing the old 'Jerry Lewis Imaginary Lozenge' thing with his mouth.
Great questions!
i love that shot he mentions at 5:37
He is still and always will be the dude. The dude abides
Amazing film
He does a great job on the accent and voice
Wow! I’d go out with Haley. I love her bubbly personality. Seeing her laugh and smile made me want to just hug her.
Hahahaha he said the dude abides! I love you Jeff!
Thanos & Kate Bishop in the Multiverse of Madness
They all did the original proud, Bridges was great.
Matt Damon uses his Matthew McConaughey impression for his character, it's kind of funny if you've seen him do it. He is playing a Texas Ranger so it makes sense.
nice interview jake
Hailee is a fine actor. And as charismatic as can be. She’s a beauty!
I will name my puppy after Mattie.. my favorite film. Makes me miss kansas so much..
great interviews, jeff bridges is awesome, he has one of the weirdest laughs I've ever heard :D
THE CHINAMAN IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE!
I thought he was asking her out at 2:13:)
Mr.Bridges did an excellent job in this film.
True Grit is the real Thanos back story. Ever since he was shot into that canyon he vowed vengeance on the universe.
Wayne and bridges wore the patch on different sides
@cochranexyz That's one awesome film. So underrated.
9:19 Best laugh ever
That interviewer kinda cute though.
I would love to see Jeff win two oscars in a row... if anybody deserves it its him
She seems very impressed with herself.
@Paperbagman555 yes she is :D
Smokey... this is not Nam... this is Bowling. there are rules :)
It’s like she’s describing a religious experience
@Terminxman i actually liked that it wasn't. i liked that the cohen brothers brought in some of their classic humor
didnt think anyone could play the roll of John Wayne but well done pulled it off :D
Jonny Mcewan
John Wayne didn't have rolls. He was a low carb guy.
@justse2006 lol, that's what I was thinking too! He's totally hitting on her.
fucking loved Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld on True Grit.
@j009aguar13 She did.
@DonSantinoAndolini Haha yay. I'm kind of surprised actually? Why supporting actress? SHE CARRIED THE ENTIRE MOVIE!?!? lol she has a 3 % chance against Melissa Leo (the fighter) though.
Josh Brolin looks like jeff bridges
Usually it's intended to make it easier for her to win. Lead Actress would have been much harder competition. Making it Supporting Actress was supposed to help her. So so close
@j009aguar13
Oh, well thank you for filling me in.
Sarcasm doesn't exactly translate well through text, you know.
Jake Hamilton is the all-time best interviewer ever.
No Matt Damon?
@aPURPOSELYrandomGUY Case 39 was some scary shit. hailee should get an oscar for this.
9:34 MANBEARPIG!
@gryffindorxo it's called sarcasm
@ArchiPepper
I'll take that laugh and raise it a 3:04
Who is this interviewer?
@daniats300 hahaha well she looks way older
I fucking love Jeff Bridges laugh, haha.
jake the movie guy are you friends with chuck the movie guy
True Grit was amazing, my only disappointment was that the trailer portrayed it to be a lot darker and grittier than it was, it was a little more light hearted than I expected.
aw i like this interviewer. most suck so badly i don't even know how they landed their jobs.
good god she's cute,
Pickles Mcgee for real
I don't hear it at all.
@fanatykdody
Yeah, I love Jack
Chuck just wastes actors time
do they even talk about the movie lmao
Jeff bridges sure left alot litter behind, good movie tho
why didn't she say thank you?
Love both casts (Charles portis is the man) but isn't it the worst when an interview guy or girl just makes the whole thing awkward. Like stfu lol let the famous people talk. Everyone wants you to ask questions like, tell me about how fun it was making this..or what was your favorite part of the movie? Like a parent with a a child at the dinner table..you let the cool person talk and not have you be super gay on tape for other gay dudes to be impressed
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy are all these interviewers sooooo obnoxiouuuuuuuuus. BAH. i almost wanted to mute it.
btw... i love barry pepper.
She looks SO much hotter in the western garb. She should just always wear it forever.
I love Jeff bridges but his performance in this movie is poor, mainly down to the fact that he mumbles his dialogue throughout the whole film. You need subtitles to know what he's saying and it's at its worst when he's supposed to be drunk. I re read the book the night before I seen the movie in the cinema and its just as well I did as there was one scene where Mattie finds Rooster lying on his cot drunk as a skunk. I didn't understand a single word he said but I remembered the scene from the book so I knew what was going on. So as much as I love his movies the slurred speech does absolutely nothing for me.
im sorry smokey you were over the line....mark it 0
Interviewer leaves alot to be desired
Matt Damon wasn’t convincing, I just got the feeling he felt awkward in his outfit, where the rest of the cast was great, hell Barry pepper was an awesome Ned pepper and Haley was SO much better than Kim Darby Jeff did great as he made it his own and didn’t play John Wayne. Don’t get me wrong I love John wayne but this version is so much more realistic in a wY
