Oh you poor poor child, LEGO is worse than that, its just not the products thats bad, its their fair competition. Back in march 2021 LEGO got a massive backlash because they do EVERYTHING they can to drown any competetion in regards of building bricks that stick together. They just sue smaller business that sell said other companies products fully know they cant compete because of lawyer costs

I don't get why haters would go after Lego for the resemblance of the Jabba's Palace set. It's not their fault, if they wanted to attack anyone they should have attacked Lucasfilms!
Not to mention, the Simpsons one was dumb as well. Ghostbusters has swearing in it, Star Wars has killing in it, and Marvel/DC is full of violence, but Noone complained about that!

Also, in Star Wars canon Jabba's palace was originally a monastery anyway, so it kind of makes sense that it looks like that.
It was really silly though, just people trying to get offended for attention.
The Mr. Gold one is so unfair. It's not LEGO's fault everyone went crazy trying to get them, buying and returning them, and employees checking packages before putting them on the shelf. People shouldn't have gotten mad at LEGO for trying to do something different to celebrate ten series of mini-figures, it was supposed to be something fun for kids, but people went and ruined it. That wasn't LEGO's fault at all.

That Jabba the Hut Controversy is dumb. Wheather Jabba's Palace is based off of the mosque or not, why is Lego being accused here? Shouldn't the Star wars franchise be accused? Lego just took the palace. and made it into Lego. They didn't design it. If anything this set should be controversial because of the Oola figure.

Those are TOYS. And as much as we all love to collect them and build MOCS, we should never forget that (except for collector series) lego sets were made for KIDS, not for adults, and not for youtubers.

Personally I find the Jabba's palace argument to be kind of dumb. If you had a problem with it you should have taken it up with Lucasfilm. Lego is just producing sets based off Return of the Jedi, it's not as though they were basing it off of any religious structures.

I went to a bunch of lego summer camps and homeschool groups as a kid. There were plenty of girls there and not a single one of them played with Lego friends, just regular lego.

So this is either a dumb kid who got scared by one of the Halloween specials, or some strict, uptight parent who simply doesn't like The Simpsons. To say that one of the most popular TV shows in history, which has been running for *30 years* isn't appropriate for anyone is a really bold statement.
(Ok, maybe "just" 25 years when the comment was made...)
Most of the others are pretty dumb too, especially when they're pursuing LEGO for the "mistakes" of other companies. I can sort of see the point of the Mixels one, but I think LEGO made a good quick fix for it. The one I mostly agree with though is the Assault on Hoth set. It's actually a decent and cool set, but I also think it feels more like a large play set than an Ultimate Collector's set, and it probably shouldn't have been labelled as such. It's also pretty weird to have a huge Hoth/Echo base set and _not_ include Princess Leia.
Honestly, I find Simpsons better than Family guy... at least Homer treats his daughter with Respect...

The reason most people want rare characters is to sell them. If only 500 of them were ever made, they are very rare and could be sold at a very high prices. Some people enjoy collecting things, so getting a rare figure for them is quite nice, but not all people are collectors.
I hate limited issue things, I think all it does is piss on the less fortunate.

It’s UCS, the ones for adult collectors.
The UCS or "Ultimate Collectors Series" are supposed to be extremely detailed sets specifically for adults. They're meant to be put on display, which is why the Hoth set got so much hate. It claimed to be a UCS set, but it's clear that it was a playset.
Take a look at the other UCS sets. Note the level of detail, the lack of gimmicky play features. Sometimes you can call yourself lucky if there's even a minifig included.

The Lego ucs hoth is actually one of my favorite sets I own. It has amazing play ability and comes with unique Minifigures for a 2015 set. I'm sad it got so much hate.
It's hated because it's marketed as an UCS instead of a large battle pack (Which is basically what it is).

wrong. lego had an existing partnership with shell that even extended several months after their agreement not to renew the partnership.

I remember when I was a kid that Shell gas stations were selling these mini Lego sets featuring various vehicles. My parents managed to get me all 12 of them when we drove from Texas to Illinois to visit my grandparents for Christmas.

You have to remember that Lego owns anything you submit to ideas. What you didn't read the terms of service? You should always read the TOS. It doesn't matter they don't have to credit you - even if parts of your submission ended up in other sets. Dose that suck? Yes but you already agreed to give up your ownership of the submissions design.
Obviously #3 would come from an outraged parent on Tumblr!...
in Australia our rating goes g te lowest pg, m, ma then the worst. The simpsons is rated pg and Star Wars and lots D.C. and marvel films are rated m but all the people are saying simpsons lego is inappropriate and the other ones aren't?

In Canada my tv says pg is 8+ here’s some other bad movies lego has used: Jurassic park- muldoons face gets eaten by a raptor, Star Wars- the Death Star blows up planets, marvel- Loki drills a guys eye out! DC Batman’s parents were murdered. But having something about a chubby, balding middle aged man who loves doughnuts is terrible!

Jabba's palace is based on that type of architecture and inspired by it. But the lore of Jabba's palace says that the building wasn't originally his and that he found it abandoned and decided to move in. The bomar monks walking around in the palace are actually the original owners of the palace or at least what's left of them.

The ion cannon is missing back plating. It's just a bunch of differently colored bricks. Other than that, it's pretty good.
Basically LEGO called the set a UCS (Ultimate Collectors Series) set and there were many play features in the set rather than what would satisfy UCS collectors
I got the set a few years back. It is a good-ish set, but people hated on it because it was called UCS, which is supposed to be ultra accurate. There were a few discrepancies, like the 3 instead of 4 dishes on the shield generator. I think that if the set was called a normal playset and not Ultimate Collector's Series, people would have liked it more. I hope this answers your question.

I'm not entirely sure what kind of point you were trying to make but, Legos are made of plastic. Plastic causes just as big of a pollution problem worldwide--if not more--as most other pollution sources. That was the point of his comment.
Lego announced that they will stop producing plastic toys in 2030. Hopefully, they re-release the SpongeBob theme before that.

In 2013 for my birthday, I really wanted Lego Jabba's Palace and I remembered that I couldn't find it anywhere! Finally one day I found it at Walmart. Later on that week, I seen online that people thought it looked like a mossk or however you spell it. I'm so happy I got it that day because I never seen it in a store after that!

I picked up that Jabba’s Palace set last year in a huge bin of LEGO that I bought at a trunk sale for $150! Awesome set, and man what a deal! That bin surprised me when I got home and looked through it. So many neat sets in it, and most of them were 90%-100% complete!
Honestly, the comic con exclusive ones are fine if it's a different version of pre existing minifigures, like the platinum or gold ones, or like batman in a different suit than usual. My problem comes from when they're literally in no other sets, this is the only time to get that character, not just the specific costume.

It comes down to the fact that people too young to watch the Simpsons would have their LEGO sets bought by their parents anyway, so the parents can control whether their kids get Simpsons LEGO.
The Simpsons is rather adult when compared to LEGO, but I think it fits well enough.

I don't really have any problems with the Lego Friends series. I would have loved to have had them when I was younger. There's nothing wrong with Lego making toys for girls who like "girly" stuff. It doesn't mean that girls can only play with those sets. In fact, they remind me of the old Polly Pocket toys, the ones that could actually fit in your pocket. They had a similar design to the Lego Friends.
I personally hate the way the minifigures look as they aren't compatible with most other lego sets (they are too tall to be spesific). I'm also not really a fan of th colour palet chosen. However I don't care if people like them, boys or girls, each one likes their own thing.
What is however a "problem" in my opinion is when parents or relatives will choose a lego friends set for the girls in the family over a normal one because "it's for girls".
What I found funny about the whole sticker scenario was the fact that there was a sticker that said “Gettin Dirty” which people thought was fine but “Hey Babe” was unacceptable 😂
