This is a massive Russian offensive that was not even announced ever. This is how offensives are conducted, out of surprise and shock. Not by advertising it like it's some movie premier..
I think it passoble that the plans were always there but instead of forcing a date to launch it, they decided to launch when the conditions were right as the fall of Avdiivka and the replacement of Zalushny caused disruptions.
@@catocall7323 people expected this offensive a year ago, by the time it actually happened nobody thought it was going to happen. The element of surprise is important and it's more important to not hype it up because hyping it up makes your enemy wary of it and lets them prepare heavily.
Zelensky is a show man and he wanted to put a show for Western audiences addicted to Hollywood, and in the process he put his troops in a horrible situation. The only secret he's capable of keeping is the amount of casualties Ukraine has suffered. Note that Putin never talks about anything outside of the politics of the war, he's aware it's not his position to do so and that the military structure is best left to do what it's designed to do. Civilian oversight on military affairs is just that: oversight. It doesn't mean the civilian leadership ought to interfere with how the military conducts its specialty.
Actually, it started as a probing offensive (same as Ukraine's summer offensive) which has effectively managed and exploited a breach through. The Russians effectively predicted the ammo/supply shortages affecting Ukrainian front lines. The massive part of the Russian amassment of troop and material had met very slim gains at very high cost. Same as the Ukrainians experienced a few months ago. Neither side can continue this type of warfare. One side refuses a general mobilization and the other cant get their young to do the baby making thing.
ALL modern doctrine states this Russian break through should have penetrated hundreds of kilometers at this point. While it was beneficial, in terms of what should be expected, 50kilometers per 12hrs following a breakthrough until a purposeful tactical/technical halt is ordered, the Russians flobbed another hard fought breach.

Everyone thinks that expensive, and complex equipment is the answer to a real war because it worked so well in undeveloped countries that couldn't put up much of a fight, but a real war is about industry replacing a lot of lost equipment. Even expensive equipment will be destroyed and need to be replaced.

Also it wasn't till the late 2010's when diesel engines became as good or even better than turbine engines (diesels being louder and have hotter exhaust for the longest time) have now reduced and/or nearly got rid of their down sides and are going to be put in the M1A3 series of Abrams to address said fuel consumption.
Also Russian T-80s use a turbine engine so I guess the US army isn't the only "dumb ones" for using a turbine as a tank engine.

Here's an interesting story. One Russian soldier was captured during the assault; the Ukrainian who was assigned to guard him, when he was left alone with the prisoner, gave his weapon to the prisoner and said that he himself wanted to surrender. After which they safely reached the Russian positions.

Firstly, the interview with soldier is obviously a made up story. They also said it did not fire a shot. We have seen videos of abrams trashing trench lines with Russians in them from distance. So it’s obviously a poorly done propaganda video.
I also really don’t get pro RU. Tanks get knocked out in war. But why draw attention to the fact the Ukrainians are rolling around in better and more survivable MBTs than the Russians? They even show the abrams. Not once was it destroyed, they are immobilised. Possible the first one had the inside trashed if ammo compartment door was not shut. But the blow out panels worked as advertised possibly saving tank and crew got out. The fate of Russians in T series is not good. It’s incredible the level of stupidity you encounter on the internet

It's not but a war between US and ITS'S Ukraine & IT'S OTAN against Russia.
Of course it’s a civil war. Ukraine was part of the USSR for decades and even before then Russia and Ukraine have a difficulty and untwined history that goes back centuries.
I have a very good friend who was a former marine veteran, he’s 29 years old and he also happens to be half Ukrainian half Russian. When the war broke out in 2022 he went to go fight in a militia in Ukraine. When he came back home I asked him why he decided to fight for Ukraine instead of Russia since he has parents from both countries, he told me that it’s because if he went to go fight for Russia he’ll never be able to come back to America and if he did he’d probably be sent to Guantanamo bay for treason or something.
I'm half Ukrainian and half Russian, the whole thing is a tragedy :( The only real loser here is Ukraine and it really sucks.

A lot of the equipment given to ukraine is either in old stockyards, has their advanced equipment removed, is not in service, or is expendable enough to be replaced, yet i admit its a bit hypocritical but comparing russian losses to nato and ukranian losses in terms of vehicles, aircraft, naval vessels, and infantry doesnt paint a pretty picture for russia, they've been in ukraine for 2 years now and have yet to claim over 20% of ukraine, i wouldnt call this a win for russia, but not a win for ukraine either

Thanks for pointing out that 40-year old MBTs don't stand up to latest ATGMs when ambushed. At least you are honest about it. 40 years ago it was state of the art, and proved itself in the Gulf War (M1A1). At that time it was one of the few tanks with digital computers. Nowadays we expect it, but you have to also remember 1980's Russia. Their entire military was analog and the cost to concert to digital when the Abrams (same one) went into service.
To the US's fear & Ukraines & NATO : Russian troops adapted. They might not have the accuracy of donated US-dominated battlefield armaments, but they have what they have in volume and drive of their troops. They see what we cannot in the West see. The profiteering of US companies selling weapons systems - and now the Russians can see that relates to battlefield strategy. Can Ukraine really put up enough of a mobile defense when facing volume? Its not going to be easy for Russia. It means burning through a lot of artillery shells + Russian/Ukrainian troops.
For me, this is a war that should never have happened. Evil men doing evil deeds and all the stuff the Bible warns against - happening. Hate it when the country I love is the bad guy. Hopefully they can course correct and get a peace deal + nuclear disarmament treaty signed with the next Administration. That would be the insult these evil old farts would take to them in their grave. To await the Powers that Be that watch and saw what is in their hearts. I think the fact that only a handful of M1s have been killed is actually proof of good employment of tanks in general. Ukraine is 28 times smaller than Russia, and Russia has 3 times the population. I don't know what the deal is with Siberians, but they have a history of being fantastic soldiers. They were very feared by the Germans in WW2.
The deal is that hard places make hard men.... and 1920's Northern Sibera was a much tougher place to grow up than in 1920's Berlin lol

Reportedly two were obliterated via iskander strikes in the Kherson area and yes there is footage both of the himars being transported together and of them both being blown up at the same time.

In high school, I had a friend Robbie he was from Novi Saad, Yugoslavia. It was hard for him. His Stepfather was half Serbian, half Croatian. They saw it as a civil war.
Well, it was. It's just one side had the support of US and Europe. War in Korea is the same. The Ukraine - Russia war is also basically a civil war that was instigated by the same people. Actually funny fact Biden was one of the people, who instigated the Yugoslavian war. There's an obvious pattern here that's impossible to ignore.

It was a civil war, just like in the US civil war. Family members fighting on different sides. War is always a sad affair, but this is even worse.
