I have to admit, I’m pleased it’s finished because it was a difficult project to build…but I’m quite pleased with the end result. It plays really well although the thick strings are a challenge 😊
Yeah I’m really pleased. With being pine it’s so light too although I have to be extra careful as it’s quite soft. It it plays really nice a with the thicker strings it sounds more Quo like than my other guitars.
@@Smugwood softwoods are not ideal for guitars as its easy to dent/ding them. however. it is a great way to have a go building one cheaply. have you thought about looking through ebay or gumtree for old tables and using them to make guitar(s). someone suggested it to me a while back and its a good idea.
@@meowwoem6372 I must admit, I have started recycling/upcyling where I can. I was given an old oak table and managed to turn it into quite a few new projects. A little trickier with guitar bodies as Ideally id need it thick but I have built a body using and old oak worktop...look alright but is a little bit heavy.
@@Smugwood i think i'm lucky, looking around on freecycle, gumtree and ebay, loads of mahogany tables and more exotic wood ones turn up all the time and sell for low prices. i know why, where i live there are a hell of a lot of rich or well off people. so when i make the leap and actually build a guitar, i should be ok for cheep wood.
Looks and sounds the part keep up the good work Lee 👍

Awesome build mate! Glad you pulled it off
It could be better but if I’m honest it’s not bad. Plays really good though 👍
Great looking and sounding guitar. Well done and here's to the next one.
It was a tricky build but glad I persevered now. Plays really nice and the thick strings really make it sound more authentic 😊👍
I enjoy that you printed out the wear pattern for the pickguard! All in all an excellent recreation of Rick's guitar
Thanks Chris…since I built it I haven’t stopped playing it 😂
Love it mate! Rick's always been one of my favourite players.
He's definitely up there with the best ever rhythm guitarists. Pretty much impossible to copy his style too...Ive tried so hard :-)
Great video! Love it.
Was a challenge thats for sure :-)
