  • In this video we've dried the honey and it's time to extract. I demonstrate my process and equipment. You will see some different uncapping methods, small hive beetle slime, and explanations on my equipment.
With me is my 14-year-old niece Aniyah, you may have seen her in some earlier videos. You'll see a bit more of her as the summer goes on, she's been spending a lot of time in the bees this year.
Stay tuned for a third video where I will show how much honey this round yielded and give a better run through of my extraction setup.

Can't wait to have a decent honey house... been thinking of getting a 16 feet enclosed trailer, could put my extractor and uncapping tank in there. Adding gear as my operation grows, eventually getting an actual building .

    Very nice Gus!
I had some pretty nice frames of honey until I flipped them around and saw solid brood on the other sides. I just left that for the bees. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Gus, I really enjoy watching all of your videos.
You make it all seem simple and achievable. From the propagation of trees to the propagation of bees, I can find it here. Thanks for sharing!

Great video Gus. Could you do a video about how you get all that equipment cleaned up for the next run or to be put away for the season?

Good tip on keeping brood out of honey house. Do you have a problem with old comb that has had brood in it that they back filled with honey attracting SHB

  • @alhambraorchardapiary4882

Brood in the honey house, haven't done that one yet lol at least you got paid
