  • Mostly, tech guys do review of new products and no one really comes to know about the actual performance of the product during long term usage.
    So, i thought of making a quick video on feedback and basic maintenance which i had to perform on this laptop.

    One more video of overall review about the machine itself, performance, battery, work flow etc will be much appreciated!

      Thank you for your feedback. Frankly, i don't have the tools for performance analysis and there are already a ton of videos on CZcams with regards to testing. The key missing issues which i found was actual hands on upgrade and long run maintenance issues which affect performance.

    Glad to know that this was the only issue you faced on the gram. Just ordered the 2021 version. Hope it stays as reliable as it will be from day one.

      @@chiradip24 no. The i5 11th Gen actually. I didn't think I would need the i7. I don't do any graphic intensive work though. I'm not tech geek so I have very little idea, will it be problem with the i5?

      @@gauravmaitei Although there isn't much price difference but considerable performance difference in i5 vs i7 and hopefully you are getting the 16gb ram variant, since the ram is not upgradeable in the 2021 models

    Nicely explained. Liked the explanation of your logic on why the repasting was done and the context of it to the Indian sub continent. Heating will partcularly happen more with thin and light laptop models as they also tend to have a smaller fan to maintain the low weight profile.

      I am glad you liked my video. Interesting, in spite of using a good quality thermal paste, the heating issue came back in just about 7 months of posting this video. i changed the paste again and Bingo! the thermals were down again. so i think it would be good to use "core temp" and do continuous monitoring of thermal.

      @@devjitbanerjee6510 Yes, kind of but it hadn't dried up completely. i just replaced it to see if the paste was the culprit and it worked. actually, i use my laptop very extensively for work, almost like 10-12hrs per day, weekends included.

    Hi! Is the SSD storage upgradeable? Only the 512 GB variant is available in my area, and I would have wanted it to be at least 1 TB.

    hey thanks for video, even after applying thermal paste sometime its spikes to 90 is that normal? its ideling at 60-65, i have same model.

    • @chiradip24
      @chiradip24  Před rokem

      Yes that's normal, as ssd ages or if its loaded above 65% capacity, it starts to behave like an old hdd leading to cpu heating issues

    I have been thinking of buying LG Gram 16 laptops with Intel 12th Gen (2022) but a bit worried about the flex in the chasis that comes with this year model. Should I go ahead and buy this laptop what is your advice. Thanks.

      Only part that you must take care is ram, since now the ram is not upgradeable as it is soldered to the motherboard unlike my model

    I have the LG Gram 14Z990, Intel Core i5 - 8265 model. I would like to upgrade its RAM from 8GB to 24GB. Can you please suggest exactly which RAM should I go for? As I'm really confused about the compatible RAM speeds varying from 2400Mhz to 3200Mhz.

    • @chiradip24
      @chiradip24  Před 2 lety

      Use CPUZ or similar software to figure out your ram frequency. my one small suggestion would be to go with equal ram division and making up 16Gb rather than 24GB since the 16 will work better than 24, you can read about it online.
