    Putting an electronic device with openings underneath wet clothes seems like a great idea

    Back in the 50s, my mother used a wooden rack just like this, hung clothes on it and placed it over the floor heater. when it was already on - Worked beautifully, clothes dried in an hour or so, energy consumption was way down.

    • @islandgal500
      @islandgal500 Před 4 lety

      I still use the wooden drying rack because some of my clothes do not go in a dryer (undies or delicate tops). In summer rack goes either near an open window or on the deck outside, and in winter also over the floor heater. It helps keep the house a little less dry.

    What I don’t understand about Dragons Den, is that they’re not allowed to take any notes with them and have to remember it all of the top of their head? A good business person knows their figures but also would have paperwork and be allowed to be prepared in a meeting ?

      actually, i have seen more than a few persons (ON the aussie shark tank & a copy of times on the UK version) that did bring papers with them. the aussies had a 13 yr old girl bring all her financials. I believe these folks just dont think to bring paperwork at all, not their patent's papers (which i have seen many times offered in the UK DD) or their cash flow statement. if they had gone to a bank they would have been forced to show some financials..... BUT I agree.. I dont understand sheep that cant fool their way into a meeting and then not know their basic numbers. / heck they could hide the numbers and statements on the bottom of their product and then fake that they had left the papers there themselves.. thanks for sharing, God Bless and enjoy the weekend.

      @@johnbeechy They let kids bring in notes but the adults can't. There is one UK Dragons' Den where a nervous investor had his figures written on his hands which was quite funny. The truth is if you run a business you end up pitching to potential investors accidentally in the pub, at a football match, smoking etc and you know your figures.

    • @johnbeechy
      @johnbeechy Před 4 lety +2

      @@peterd788 that is interesting. I have never heard that Rule in the CDN den, nor in the shark USA tank. the show's caption at the beginning only states the sharks use their own money. well cant blame the Game for the Rules. well then basics 101, remember 3 sets of numbers. Gross or as some blokes refer to it as 'turnover in sales', gross profit after COGS for products, and the net profit (although this value can be confused with 'before interest and depreciation'.. ONLY need 3 numbers/ best per yr/ BUT in the UK Den they do allow for all purchase agreements and partnership agreements and patents' paperwork. so i would still remind folks to bring these and vendor or customer lists with them. cant bring income statement, cash flow statement or balance sheet - but patent papers are ok.. I would pretend the products were in a store for sale and put a actual price on them, wholesale price if possible - this would not work for service related items (unless this too is not allowable).
      I shall hold back on really the only major concern - lack of knowing the margins. U know tax rates have no effect on the Margins, so it makes no cents to slaves of the system of low wages to vote for corporate tax cuts. even Personal tax cuts have no effect on wages, ONLY on the net pay if any effect at all. OK.. well like i said, thanks for the update and clarity. Cant Blame the Game for the Rules. God Bless and may all Your entries into any Den or Tank land, 'Win, Place, or Show'.

    Put a normal €10 household rotary fan in front of a bog standard clothes horse. Exactly the same job achieved and saving €70. That product needed to do something that was better for drying clothes than just fanning room air at clothes for €80. Good intentions but the product is nothing original or problem solving, its only a fan blowing air upwards. That's it for €80.

When the show fails to give you the drama and excitement you are looking for, you conclude it is dull.
