That moment when you type "youtube" into the browser and realize that the Spirited Man dropped a video just as you clicked on the "subscriptions" menu item - always a pleasure when a new video drops, quality as ever, life is good :) Thank you Van for providing joy and inspiration to everyone :)
Man, I feel like this series was years in the making because you were so good at cataloging shit in your life and it’s like authentic self stock footage.
My father bought me the same Craftsman socket set when I was 18. Still going strong (turning 35 soon). Brings me a smile whenever I use it.
Thats really cool
This fulfilled man is amazed with how portable and how comprehensive is Van's landcruiser tool kit. Rather than have your cherished vehicle stuck in a repair shop for a lump sum of money, tools you can get at your local hardware store are a life saver. Amazing work!
I watched this video, bought the plug n pump kit at 3:33, the next day got a flat with a screw and fixed it instantly. Thanks Van
Thank you for affirming my belief in always carrying a basic toolset and zip ties in any vehicle or working space I preside
As someone that lives in Arusha, Tanzania with an old land cruiser. You have no idea how often I go back and reference this video. Thank you for the most useful video on CZcams!
I really appreciate the car videos, I’m 16 and I feel like I learn some new with every video you put out, no matter what the genre. Thank you sir!
My Toyota Tundra was built like a tank, but the hoses weren't. My "ERRK" [Emergency Roadside Repair Kit] always had chewing gum and electrical tape after I blew out a hose in South Buttscratch, NM. I chewed the gum until smooth and sticky and wrapped it tightly with electrical tape. Not a drop all the way back to the SFO bay area.
Wow,you went serious Macgyver mode.I like it.
Amazing!!
Love these videos. They are simple concepts but well executed. Beautiful art, all around.
Love this! I have an 89 HJ61 and need to put together a toolkit like this ASAP. Keep making more Land Cruiser content!!
I have these bags/sleeves that power tools came with and didn’t know what to do with them. This tool collection idea is awesome use for that! Great video
Thank you Van, I woke up about to get ready to go off on a house renovation job. Your videos always make me feel inspired.
Hard to describe the love you have for a cruiser.
Much love from the land down under Van the man. 👌
With my current car troubles you're really convincing me to buy a land cruiser.
Good luck! Might have better luck getting into a new Toyota 4Runner. They’re about half the price, about the same size as the old Land Cruisers, and built extremely well in Japan. Either way, you’ll end up in a very reliable vehicle.
Thanks for getting back to basics… your short how to movies suck me in every time. Love it.
I keep a set of tools in my jeep. I'm slowly collecting the tools I need with each repair that requires a new tool. It's a nice insurance having the tools and knowledge to repair your car. You can also help someone else. I've once pulled someone off the freeway and to a gas station, but I wouldn't have been able to do it with out my recovery ropes.
Love this Land Cruiser topic!!! Toyota’s are so well made. My 2013 Tacoma has 256,000 miles and has had no mechanical failures. Only 2 minor electrical components have failed
Van, or more accurately Isabelle, if you would be so kind as to direct my gratitude for these videos towards the spirited man. These "kit" films are epic to say the least, now when are we going to get a glimpse of the ever changing custom $400/month NYC micro-apartment that I have only briefly heard discussed on a podcast featuring the spirited man. Take care.
I’ll let him know you love the kit videos! As for the apartment, it’s gone 😣
Van the man! I'm just sending positive vibes your way. Thank you for inspiring me. The world is a better place because of your films!
25” Nylon buckle Voile straps are incredibly useful as well, always have a couple in the truck.
beautiful video man love seeing your history thru old videos you're indeed a spirited man
I always wanted the Series 70 Landcruiser, have to settle for a 4Runner for now though.
Good to see you back at it Van. Thanks
Thanks! Added a few things to my own vehicle tool kit now. You rock!
"I etched out a little nook for an extender thing". My guy! Years ago I returned a broken ratchet from my Kobalt 13,000 piece set and the new one doesn't fit into the molded plastic. I just tore into that bad boy with my rotary tool, drove in a screw on both sides of the handle, put a hair tie between the screws (because it's on the underside of the hinged lid) and BOOM! It fits and doesn't fall! Thanks for the inspiration buddy!
You're so good at this sir. Greetings from Philippines 🇵🇭
This is what I was waiting for! Thank you!
really enjoying the "kit" series
What a treat, halfway thru the week! :)
Brilliant work Van. Excellent.
Hell yeah, always love a van video drop
Wishing every youtuber was as classy as this man
I live by the Irwin 6" needle nose vise grips since that size and profile is so utilitarian.
Best video ever. Don’t agree w all the tools but this episode couldn’t make me happier.
Fantastic. I don't have a land cruiser but it gives me ideas of things to use. Will make note of the vice grip and silicone tape. I've started to change my mind about adjustable wrenches. I like the convenience but yes, stripping bolts is noooo fun
Channellock may be a good idea, I sort of get the feeling they would strip less as you can feel the force better but idk
Great as always
These are great / intermixed with love for art supplies, literary and contemporary influences….Yada yada.
Fisherman's Friend tin slipped in there. Stuff of legends
Awesome job can
As a fellow Toyota tank owner, I agree all true. Also RIP Sears, it was a good run.
Thumbnails are getting better and better
Thank you! Canva!! It’s helping so much with thumbnails!
Any Land Cruiser content is good content!
love your vids
2:01 I have that same junk 2 end screwdriver and had the exact same thought. I wanted to toss it but the bit is long so I kept it.
Thanks for using our bungees again!!!!!!
Thank's Van, after this video I go out and repair something on my Saab I know I should and could repair!
Another great video.
Fantastic
If I can recommend a few other things. 5 min epoxy can repair a hole in a hose or just about anything else. And about 2-3 feet of mechanics wire. If you have something hot fall of you don’t want to be messing with zip ties. Also throw a rag in there, pref red so it can double as a warning flag on the end of the lumber you have sticking out
Add a coil or wire and a wratchet strap.
Coil of wire can lash up a broken exhaust, this happened to me on a 5 lane motor way when debris from the road smashed the underside of my Rav4. I stripped the copper out of an extension cord I had and used that to get me home, wish I had the wire.
Wratchet strap is my most used car tool, usuall for moving lumber but I also lashed a fuel tank back up when the tank straps failed and the drive shaft caught the tank.
Keep the tool vids coming my man! Also when will teach us how to make that swivel tool kit? 😬
I have wanted one of these for probably as long as I can remember.
You cam start for like, 10 bucks or so. The big box stores all carry mini tool kits.
Your dream is within your grasp... Unless you want a Land Cruiser. In that case, keep dreamin' pal.
@@garystinnett8321 🤣🤣
More Land Cruiser vids yes please
Thanks mate
Awesome kit. I would not discount the adjustable wrench completely it can be used as leverage to bend brackets and sheet metal if needed. Also I’d recommend Knipex alligator pliers and their pliers wrench which is a superior adjustable.
Now I know what to get van for his birthday in March!
@@isabel-rj4kd are you THE isabel?
@@aayotechnology haha, like as in Van’s wife? Yeah!
@@isabel-rj4kd very cool if so! Let me ask then for everyone here please. When will you be in his videos? Better yet, start your own channel? I’m sure you’re equally entertaining and interesting!
i have a 01 lexus lx470/100 series landcruiser and i absolutely love it, wouldn't trade it for a new ferrari.
Just a note, that’s not a tire iron. A tire iron, or tire spoon, is a thin pry bar that is used to remove and install tires on a rim. What you showed is a lug nut wrench.
Maybe a dead horse but if not knipex cobra pliers and knipex plier wrenches. They will change for life! Only Journey is which size and which tool kit. BMW, land cruiser, home, shop….
YES
Shoutout to all the fellow TOYOTA owners. Where u from & what you run?
Bay Area, CA
-1984 22R Pickup lifted, high steer, 4.88 diffs with Detroit Lockers F&R, dual cases….Blah blah blah
I want one of those toolkits in my future life
hell yea another kit
When you've got that long tail of cars following you up the hillside, we call it our "comet tail."
Love that closing shot. LOL
Good video
Nice vid
Still debating if I will buy a Land Cruiser or a Defender for when I'm in Zambia (beautiful country of my wife). Well one comment, in Europe and the US probably stuck in a repair shop for a week. Well in Africa and probably South America this will be much more likely be fixed by some local hero's.... but for sure handy to get myself a kit like this when I finally bought a truck like this.
Love these videos Van! Can you make one for bikes?
Cool!✌️
Oh finally first comment.. a huge fan from Bangladesh ❤️
Nice
0:29 CASEY!!!
Consider a "locking adjustable wrench"... it's like a crescent wrench had a love child with a pair of vise grips.
KNIPEX PLIERS WRENCH
I was thinking this was a gun channel but hey I’m not disappointed logo does look like S&W logo tho
Hi Van!
Greeting from Mongolia :)
Damn now I want a land cruiser
Does anyone know what brand and/of model that bag is? I absolutely love these videos! Every time I find a tool or kit video... I'm a happy camper.
I have this same spirited man socket set lmao 🤣
beauty
Great vid! And would anyone happen to know, is this UN-standard repairability true of new LandCuiser models available now in 2020s..?
I would love love love to see that Toyota converted into electric by Van 👍🏻
The future is now! REPLACE the CRESCENT with a KNIPEX PLIERS WRENCH, you can make a nickel square with them bad bois.
Van tell us about the safety glasses you always wear
Shout out to Coco's Variety for the 6 in 1 screw-gee
Commenting for engagement!
Yo where did you find that new gravel in your voice?! Nice tone!
What type/brand bag do you recommend for building a small kit for items about the size of a deck of cards?
More tool talk!
Are you driving to Montana to have the new motor installed, and driving back in one fell swoop?
How about a flashlight and a roll of ducttape?
Btw using stainless hardware in non stainless materials could get you more issues than replacing galvanised screws from time to time.
I was just now listening to Rush’s Working Man. Hahaha
Fantastic tune for those lucky enough to know of the bands extensive collection of music. Been a fan since 1980
I had my 1986 Land Cruiser for 250k miles. Gave it to my stepbrother. Best car in the world, until the AC failed and the repair list was piling up. But my money was piling down!
Black electrical tape is always good in a kit or always in your car.
Can you please calab with Adam Savage? its super important for two tool kings to talk tools
❤️❤️❤️
♥️
👏👏
How long have you had the land cruiser for?
You forgot the plumber’s putty!
