  • Dr. John Lipman discusses what he believes every woman should know about #fibroids . He explains that at no point should a woman ever have to get a #hysterectomy because of fibroids. He goes into detail about the non-surgical procedure he performs for fibroids called #UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization), and how it is the safest and a very effective option compared to a #myomectomy and #hysterectomy (losing your uterus).

I'm very happy that you said there is no reason to have a hysterectomy for fibroid God bless you as its given me confidence that I did the right thing not going ahead with an operation.

After a scary cycle in January I made a drastic lifestyle change, and I am down 40lbs now, I went Vegan and I’m on plant based iron with vitamin c, D3, lady’s mantle, wild yam, turmeric, dandelion root and essiac tea.

I drove all the way to ATL to this doctor and got the UFE procedure done I was so excited just hoping everything was going to be better. It’s coming
up on a year Dec 31 and my fibroid has gotten bigger also now I have to get a hysterectomy😢 my story is sad I tried everything not only that I end up having to come out of pocket to pay for this procedure and it did nothing for me. And y’all the pain after is unbearable the worst pain I ever felt.
Not talking bad about the doctor at all my experience with this doctor was not good at all😩 I’m so tired of going through this but who ever it work for that is wonderful

This is awesome news!! I’ve had 2 endometrial ablations 1 at 40 and another at 50 due to heavy menses that gushed and lasted for 10days which caused me to become anemic, the 1st one didn’t work and the only thing the last procedure did was delayed my heavy menses to every 6 months of heavy bleeding instead of every month, for the past 2 years I’ve switched to a more plant based diet and cut dairy out as well but I’m still have this issue with My fibroids every 6 months. I have debilitating pelvic pain, sore breast and frequent urination and 10 days of bleeding. I’m so frustrated with this, I want this to be over, I feel having a UFE is right for me..

I’m 53, had small scaring or endometriosis removed at 28. Now, at 53, and post menopausal for 14 years, had hemorrhaging and fibroid found. Painful, heavy periods since teens. Suspected adenomyosis? Trying to avoid hysterectomy surgery my GYN is suggesting. I’m ever so grateful for this post. Perhaps, I will travel to Atlanta and you to have procedure. Grateful for this post and to see there’s a doctor who cares. Thanks

Finally. So tired of these old school OBGYNs telling me I need to remove my big bad uterus. I did an iron infusion recently to combat the anemia but the bleeding I’m trying to manage with pills. Not so successfully 😢 was told after 2 myomectomys which sucked btw and caused issues

My ufe I had last November 2020 and it failed. There is no vascular activity going to my big fibroid. My 7.2 cm submucosal fibroid has only shrunk to 5.5 cm as shown on my last mri I had in September 2021.
My radiologist asked me if I have considered surgery. Since my ufe I still have heavy periods, pain and clots. The radiologist stated it's my multiple smaller ones causing me the issues I'm experiencing. I thought that ufe was effective for big fibroids as well as the smaller ones? All of my fibroids are in the endomentrial lining of the uterus. I am seriously now considering a hysterectomy as I am tired of dealing with fibroids.

Same here I had a myomectomy in 2017 didn't work and had the UFE procedure done June 2022 and I am still bleeding heavy no relief. I have to schedule another MRI so the fibroids could be measured hopefully they are getting smaller but I doubt it. The bleeding is crazy heavy. I teach and can not go in the bathroom every hour but it's go every hour or have blood on my clothes 😔
