People saying he can’t sing? He was taught by Jonghyun, one of the best and emotional singers in the industry. Even when he’s doing intense choreography he’s still stable. But I mean, haters are going to hate even if they personally go to a live concert and hear the sound coming straight out of their mouthes, there’s no point in trying to have a rational conversation with irrational people.

Even until today, he's still receiving vocal lessons to keep growing and growing and keep challenging himself with various styles. That is the mental of GREAT ARTIST. When you stop learning and think that you're on top of the world, you are done. Taemin set his foot on the ground and keep growing higher and higher.

Some people can't see that Taemin has been covering Jonghyun's part when he's not around. And let me remind those people who said that Taemin can't sing, Jonghyun's part are usually high!
Taemin and Jonghyun have sort of a similar vocal register (although Jonghyun could go a lot higher) and style imo. I love the color of their voices it gives me goosebumps
Taemin is more than just a dancer, he is also a great singer. Not many male Idols that beside being a amazing dancers are well- rounded like him and usually lack in singing. That’s why he is a legendary male solo artist, a role model to many younger idols and their favorite main dancer is not.

To my knowledge, he’s the only person in SM who had his positions changed to include main vocalist. Main vocalist and main dancer is a very unique combo; the only other two vocalists from SM that I know that hold similar positions are f(x)‘s Luna (lead dancer, main vocalist) and Red Velvet’s Seulgi (main dancer, lead vocalist). What always fascinated me about his vocals is that he wasn't born with a voice like a lot of other idols. He had to work hard and practice for days on end for years to learn how to master his voice and learn his strengths since his voice is so unique. That's one of the reasons that makes him an Ace in kpop in my opinion. His dedication to everything he does is nothing short of amazing and every performance I watch I am just more and more amazed and in awe of his talents and stage presence. Real talk, I was watching a kpop related video and I heard a song I had never heard before in the background, and my first thought was “is that Taemin?” It was.
For that one person who commented that his group (SHINee) can't really chart, sis, we're talking about legends here. They've literally imprinted their legacy on K-pop and set the standard for all following kpop groups. Charting is just a small indicator of their success, not really a huge deal to be honest.
I personally think their style really gave impact to kpop nowadays. They really have 'brave' style if I am not mistaken since I was following them since 2010 or so. Previously the clothing style, hair style of kpop boyband is not like today's style, they seems more just... black, white something, mostly showing manly side, not so many boyband wearing colorful cloths, at that time Shinee being brave by showing different style. Many people might forget about this. I personally think they are legend. About talent.. they always great, they didn't waste every single member's talent.

I've been a Shawol since 2009, you can see that he improved A LOT since debut. From singing minor parts to getting more lines, and having a solo. He definitely worked hard to be where he is right now. HE EARNED IT. HE DESERVES IT. Our angel, Taemin's #1 fan, must be so proud and smiling down from heaven. I am so proud of him, all of the shawols are. Can't wait for him to be reunited with his hyungs, and be a baby again ♥️
Thing is- when he debuted he couldn’t sing! He was known for being “tone deaf” but he worked his ass off and took notes from his members and teachers and peers and oh my god did he prove himself. I’m so proud of him for making his voice work for him and defying the odds. You can hear who his influences are (especially bling bling) clearly and you can tell how much effort he puts into it and for me that’s so much more appreciated than someone who was born with a “good” voice and stayed at the same level their whole career with no intentions of improving.
Just because some new sprouts have come that doesn't mean that the forever SHINee is over... SHINee is FOREVER... and it is meant to be... just like in 2kids those who are looking down on SHINee are "just too young and dumb" to know it.

Someone recently asked me why I "thirst" for this man so much for this man and I had to explain that I although his physical image and style o very attractive I'm absolutely enamored with his passion. This man came up from being considered a really bad singer to wowing crowds into silence, something which, if you know fans of anything when they're in a concert it is a rare experience to have an all silenced crowd and have it be for a good reason. This man does not give up on perfecting his form, his movement, his vocal, his character and even his discipline. I don't think he will ever stop wanting to be the best he can be. He's always learning. There's something so fiercely appealing about a man who just wants to be their very best 100 percent of the time! Like God damn, do you know how much dedication that takes?? Like the way he moves and sings, it looks and sounds effortless... Like. Just take the song Move and try to mimick his flow. I have yet to see a dancer who can look as attractive and smooth as taemin. He makes every song and dance his to a point when you look at someone else copy it it can look wonderful but it still doesn't hold to Taemin's performance. He is the type of man who will give you soft vibes that break the stereo typical mold for men in music who aren't being pushed out as feminine or androgynous. He can also be very bold and cocky (in like the nicest way, which is like fucking refreshing) and take on the persona of a string male lead... And he is all these things but at his core he is so humble and still so much like a child. And he doesn't even always feel like he deserves praise when in reality he has the absolute right to be cocky and proud of his skills. But instead he just wants to show his art form and is content with just getting any chance to be on stage doing what he loves. And I know this is a rant, but like, if loving a man's passion and dedication to his life long goals is being thirsty or fangirly then bet your ass I'm thirsty for the man who sings songs like Thirsty and switches over to Soldier so easily. Like, I'm rarely emotional over people I don't know but this guy gets me fired up because he truly deserves to be seen in an absolute positive light. Okay I'm done. The reason Taemin can get away with having that sensual, whisper-y vibe to his songs is because it is COMMON KNOWLEDGE that he is an incredible singer. He doesn't have to prove it, because his entire career starting from SHINee proved it.

He is an amazing vocalist. Not only because he can perfectly hit high notes (which he can), but most of all because of his musicality, sensitivity and a deep emotional understanding of what he’s doing on stage and how he’s delivering emotions. I have great respect for him as an artist - both in dancing and singing he doesn’t show off his ego, but he shows us the art itself in a most captivating way. And this is a skill you can’t learn, you have to be born with it.

When listening to Kiss Kiss from the new album you can hear this one harmony and then refrain that Taemin sings and for 1 second it sounded so much like Jonghyun I had to replay. Then I saw others commenting on it & realised they heard it too! Jonghyun must be so proud of Taemin!

Here’s the thing, you can’t improve on something you don’t have. Taemin has always had the raw talent for singing. It’s just that he discovered his love of dancing much earlier, so it was his most developed talent when he debuted. Add in the fact that he was going through puberty at the time, which affected his voice. What’s truly amazing is his perseverance to learn, on working so hard to achieve his dreams. So proud of him.
I feel like such a old Shawol saying this, but does anyone remember when Taemin sang U for the To the Beautiful You soundtrack? I remember the moment I heard that track I knew Taemin had so much more to show the world, and it's been so incredible watching him grow vocally from debut to now.

He was actually..but he was a kid at that time. It was good that he didn't practice at that time. I recently watched a video of Adrian McKinnon talking about how great of an artist Taemin is. I think he said something like "taemin didnt see himself as a great singer but HE IS. He doesnt show it all the time but when he actually uses all his power, he's very good at it". That's not exactly what he said but pretty close to that. Point is, those who criticized taemin's vocal ability usually knows no shit about music and the art of performance. Those who know, well they know how amazing taemin is.
And good singing isnt just about hitting the high notes. With the dance and everything, taemin still manages to show some dynamics in his vocals is just chef's kiss.

What always fascinated me about his vocals is that he wasn't born with a voice like a lot of other idols. He had to work hard and practice for days on end for years to learn how to master his voice and learn his strengths since his voice is so unique. That's one of the reasons that makes him an Ace in kpop in my opinion. His dedication to everything he does is nothing short of amazing and every performance I watch I am just more and more amazed and in awe of his talents and stage presence. Anyone who says these things about Taemin clearly no nothing about real talent. Lol.
I cant stand these kids who disrespect 1st and 2nd gen idols who literally paved the way. Yes, some groups nowadays are much more popular than maybe shinee was but the reason why they are so big is because of legends like Taemin and Big Bang and Shinee and Super Junior. Real talk, I was watching a kpop related video and I heard a song I had never heard before in the background, and my first thought was “is that Taemin?” It was.
For that one person who commented that his group (SHINee) can't really chart, sis, we're talking about legends here. They've literally imprinted their legacy on K-pop and set the standard for all following kpop groups. Charting is just a small indicator of their success, not really a huge deal to be honest.
I personally think their style really gave impact to kpop nowadays. They really have 'brave' style if I am not mistaken since I was following them since 2010 or so. Previously the clothing style, hair style of kpop boyband is not like today's style, they seems more just... black, white something, mostly showing manly side, not so many boyband wearing colorful cloths, at that time Shinee being brave by showing different style. Many people might forget about this. I personally think they are legend. About talent.. they always great, they didn't waste every single member's talent.

I've been a Shawol since 2009, you can see that he improved A LOT since debut. From singing minor parts to getting more lines, and having a solo. He definitely worked hard to be where he is right now. HE EARNED IT. HE DESERVES IT. Our angel, Taemin's #1 fan, must be so proud and smiling down from heaven. I am so proud of him, all of the shawols are. Can't wait for him to be reunited with his hyungs, and be a baby again ♥️

Thing is- when he debuted he couldn’t sing! He was known for being “tone deaf” but he worked his ass off and took notes from his members and teachers and peers and oh my god did he prove himself. I’m so proud of him for making his voice work for him and defying the odds. You can hear who his influences are (especially bling bling) clearly and you can tell how much effort he puts into it and for me that’s so much more appreciated than someone who was born with a “good” voice and stayed at the same level their whole career with no intentions of improving.
Just because some new sprouts have come that doesn't mean that the forever SHINee is over... SHINee is FOREVER... and it is meant to be... just like in 2kids those who are looking down on SHINee are "just too young and dumb" to know it.

Someone recently asked me why I "thirst" for this man so much for this man and I had to explain that I although his physical image and style o very attractive I'm absolutely enamored with his passion. This man came up from being considered a really bad singer to wowing crowds into silence, something which, if you know fans of anything when they're in a concert it is a rare experience to have an all silenced crowd and have it be for a good reason. This man does not give up on perfecting his form, his movement, his vocal, his character and even his discipline. I don't think he will ever stop wanting to be the best he can be. He's always learning.
There's something so fiercely appealing about a man who just wants to be their very best 100 percent of the time! Like God damn, do you know how much dedication that takes?? Like the way he moves and sings, it looks and sounds effortless... Like. Just take the song Move and try to mimick his flow. I have yet to see a dancer who can look as attractive and smooth as taemin. He makes every song and dance his to a point when you look at someone else copy it it can look wonderful but it still doesn't hold to Taemin's performance. He is the type of man who will give you soft vibes that break the stereo typical mold for men in music who aren't being pushed out as feminine or androgynous. He can also be very bold and cocky (in like the nicest way, which is like fucking refreshing) and take on the persona of a string male lead... And he is all these things but at his core he is so humble and still so much like a child. And he doesn't even always feel like he deserves praise when in reality he has the absolute right to be cocky and proud of his skills. But instead he just wants to show his art form and is content with just getting any chance to be on stage doing what he loves.
And I know this is a rant, but like, if loving a man's passion and dedication to his life long goals is being thirsty or fangirly then bet your ass I'm thirsty for the man who sings songs like Thirsty and switches over to Soldier so easily. Like, I'm rarely emotional over people I don't know but this guy gets me fired up because he truly deserves to be seen in an absolute positive light.

He is an amazing vocalist. Not only because he can perfectly hit high notes (which he can), but most of all because of his musicality, sensitivity and a deep emotional understanding of what he’s doing on stage and how he’s delivering emotions. I have great respect for him as an artist - both in dancing and singing he doesn’t show off his ego, but he shows us the art itself in a most captivating way. And this is a skill you can’t learn, you have to be born with it.

When listening to Kiss Kiss from the new album you can hear this one harmony and then refrain that Taemin sings and for 1 second it sounded so much like Jonghyun I had to replay. Then I saw others commenting on it & realised they heard it too! Jonghyun must be so proud of Taemin!

Here’s the thing, you can’t improve on something you don’t have. Taemin has always had the raw talent for singing. It’s just that he discovered his love of dancing much earlier, so it was his most developed talent when he debuted. Add in the fact that he was going through puberty at the time, which affected his voice. What’s truly amazing is his perseverance to learn, on working so hard to achieve his dreams. So proud of him.

I recently watched a video of Adrian McKinnon talking about how great of an artist Taemin is. I think he said something like "taemin didnt see himself as a great singer but HE IS. He doesnt show it all the time but when he actually uses all his power, he's very good at it". That's not exactly what he said but pretty close to that. Point is, those who criticized taemin's vocal ability usually knows no shit about music and the art of performance. Those who know, well they know how amazing taemin is.
And good singing isnt just about hitting the high notes. With the dance and everything, taemin still manages to show some dynamics in his vocals is just chef's kiss.
