You are so right, those thrift store prices are getting a little out of hand. Especially at Goodwill which is a bummer.
Most likely because Goodwill is not non-profit.
Check out what the CEO makes!
I would not pay that much for Pyrex at Goodwill! You can definitely find the cheaper new!
I only window shop there now 😂😂😂
Yes Goodwill is very high.
Can you tell me where did the flowers come from in the basket on the door by the windmill picture? Artificial? Thanks. I have been looking for some like that at the stores . Love your decor!!!
At least you got your husband IN the store, mine waits for me in the truck. But hey, he at least will stop at the thrift store so I can shop. Love the windmill print near your stairs, looks perfect there.
Thank you! 😊
You have a beautiful home! I love the windmill picture by the steps, and your curtains you made from a tablecloth are so cute in your bedroom window. I always love a thrift and style with you video!
Thank you! 😊
The windmill painting is beautiful. It looks great on your stairway.
Thanks! 😊
I think the horse is perfect on the top shelf. You were right about too much art with the art outside the office door. Art in the stairs is just right. 💞
I love the horse. Every time I see it in a video I admire it and think that shelf was made just for the horse. I have several wooden horses, but none that big.
Love the windmill print where you have it by the stairs.
Thanks! 😊
Good Will IS GETTING VERY EXPENSIVE
Absolutely love your kitchen - So cozy, warm and cottage perfection! A real cook's delight!
Yes to the kitchen cafe curtains. The fabric looks great in your home.
Goodwill prices can be high. Especially, when there’s a price tag from the original store (that they left on the back) and that price is lower than the GW price! When I go thrifting, I put anything in my cart that I think I might get, then just before I head to checkout, I place the items back on the shelf if I’ve decided to leave them behind.
I love the heart basket hung outside. It will make a nice rest stop for the little birds.
Ha, you cracked me up about "goodwill towards men." YES-- agree wholeheartedly! I always put back items when I'm thrifting that seem too expensive for a thrift store. Gosh, so appreciated your lovely video!
That sweet jar may not be special but found a special place in your beautiful home. 🌷
One thing to do with that willow heart basket is to place it on the ground, scatter some flower feeds in the bottom and keep it watered. You get a lovely fenced flower mini-garden.
What a cute idea!!
What a cute idea!!
I traveled to Germany 42 years ago with my husband and 13 month old daughter to visit my father-in-law and mother-in-law, who were stationed there at an AF base. All the old women wanted to buy my daughter gingerbread heart shaped cookies (lebkuchen) often iced with chocolate. These are a big deal there at Octoberfest and Christmas.
Yes. Goodwill prices have gotten a bit ridiculous. Since things are donated to them, I feel they should keep prices within a reasonable price range for the budget conscious person. You’re windmill print looks lovely going up your stairs too. Thank you for taking us thrifting with you. I love seeing what other stores and areas carry. I’m going through the process of changing things up in my home and prioritizing what I really love and getting rid of the rest. Thank you again for such a lovely video. 😊
Oh man, Goodwills prices have really gone up in the last year or two. When you mentioned the sweet little cake plate that you put back on the shelf and forgot to come back for... I have done that so many times! Now, if I'm interested in something I put it in my cart and I push it around with me while I shop. It helps me keep track of how much money I'm spending based on what I have in my cart. 🤔 Secondly, I don't risk forgetting to come back for an item I was interested in or even more disappointing to return to the shelf and find someone else had bought the item.😢
Great advice! 😊
I love thrifting but, yes, Goodwill prices are HIGH these days 😞
Perfect placement of every item you purchased.. good job! Yes, include the extra fabric as a kitchen window cafe curtain with brass rod. Look forward to your next posting.
Thank you! 😊
Yes! Goodwill has went crazy with pricing!
When we are snowbird down south , my husband puts a movie on in the RV while I thrift. 😂😂 I love the heart basket on your garage. ❤
Thanks! 😊
Great finds! The windmill print looks great next to the stairs!
Thank you! 😊
I have a love hate relationship with those heart shaped baskets. If its nice like the one you found, I do bring it home.
Andrea, I've hardly ever regret buying something from a Thrift stores, BUT I always regret NOT buying something on the spot. Early this week I saw a beautiful small armoire, i didnt get ,but went the next day and it was there, but by the time I got to register to tellthe worker i wanted it ,someone else had bought! it! talk about being sad😢 i can keep on, buti know you are busy. Love your channel .
Thank you! So sorry you missed out on that! 😢
You are correct from what I've seen too. I no longer go to Goodwill, if I do go, it is rarely.
I LOVE THE HORSE ON THE TOP SHELF. It is such a great piece! The curtains came out great, I love your home and your sweet voice is so calming! ❤️
Love your little cafe curtains and I think the little jar you put the cornstarch in is really cute even if it’s not old. In my opinion everything looks better in a glass jar.
Le Parfait is a very tradionnal and emblematic french brand, I use their pots all the time here in France to store things in my pantry or on display. They are really nice and sturdy. They are used to can things like you would use a Mason jar
I totally agree with you on the high prices at Goodwill! The clothes are like the same price as Wal-Mart. I dont understand it myself.
Anyways great video! I loved it!❤
Enjoyed the patience your husband showed…nice guy. The windmill artwork on the wall looks good; your idea of going up the wall with more artwork sounds good. Your video was peaceful…. Who doesn’t need peace in this world! 🥰
I still find a piece here or there from my older collecting habit and have to bring it home. When I see something that I fall in love with but am not really sure, I will get it if it is not really expensive. Because I will think about it for a long time otherwise. I just love the hunt for little surprises.
Love the windmill print! It also looks great in the stairway.
Thanks! 😊
Loved ur haul the curtains turned out adorable.
Thanks! 😊
I LOVE… everything!!!
It ALL…looks COZY, yet BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thank you! 😊
Yes, you are right … I’ve been going to Goodwill for years and I’ve notice a big price increase on items as well. You can hear customers grumbles as they too feel the same way. Still I go to find my treasures LOL
Perfect spot for the windmill print.
What a great idea for the curtains. I loved it. Plus I also love the hearts I think it was the 80's . I have like four around my home. 😊
Thanks! 😊
That table was lovely, perfect for my home. I used to buy a lot of the style of things you buy. My tastes have changed over the years, I am more into french country with a touch of glam. Lol
I remember those heart woven baskets it looks nice on the shed. Your little glass jar looks nice in the wooden cabinet it compliments the larger one that is next to it.
Thank you! 😊
I had baskets like that in the nineties. Wish I still had them. Your husband was so funny in this video. I’m pretty sure men are just little boys in bigger bodies. 😂
I agree! Haha! 🤣
The picture looks great at the stairs! And yes, having a covered casserole dish is always needed for anytime. This week at my Goodwill I found on different aisles a complete 6 piece set of 100% cotton king sheets for under $20. Gotta Love it!
Thanks! And that’s great!! 😊
Unfortunately prices have increased due to many of the customers reselling on eBay as well as inflation for the non sellers. Your house is decorated beautifully. It has a a nice cottage feel to it.
Thank you! 😊
Your husband is too cute. You should add him to more of your videos.
I try! Haha He doesn’t like it lol 😂
I like where you put the wicker heart outside.
Some bird is gonna love ❤️ it. 😂
🪺
That print beside the window and staircase Perfect Great finds I agree with the pricing
Enjoyed your content and I think you and your husband look so sweet together. Looking forward to viewing more of your content. Blessings always
I love your outfit! It reminds me of an updated “Chessie” look from The Parent Trap 😍
Thanks! 😊
I love all your treasures & and you incorporated them into your home.
The curtain is so unique I absolutely love both of them actually ❤
They hang heart wreaths on their front doors in England ❤ I have a jar/canister like that that also says made in France and mine also has French words on the sides. I got mine many years ago at a garage sale (in Illinois) and it has an orange rubber seal that has become hard and brittle over the years. The Amazon ones say in the description that they are made in France.
The hearts were popular in the eighties I also had some their so cute!
I just bought 2 different looking heart shaped baskets like the one you have and the other was a grape vine looking one just because I liked them also and really didn’t know what to do with them and I think I may hang them outside. Thanks for an idea! The cafe curtains was a good idea also still letting the natural light in love that idea. That’s why I love watching your channel you have a great eye in styling and decorating ❤❤ thank you for sharing them with us.
perfect spot for the artwork!! Love what you did with the "curtains"--very clever, and so pretty!!
Love the pleat idea with your curtain rings!! I'm going to do that!! At least Mike comes in with you...I'm never rushed at all but my guy waits in the truck!!🤣
Haha! 😂
Those Le Parfait jobs are wonderful. I find them at TJ Maxx and usually snatch them up. You can find replacement rubber seals. I believe I bought mine at Sur La Table. Yes, thrift store prices have really climbed!
I just laughed out loud. I love you decor style! I just printed a vintage print of a windmill off Etsy yesterday
Thank you! 😊
I really like what you did with the heart basket. I always see those and I like them, but I never know what to do with them.
Thank you! 😊
I sell Le Parfait jars in my shop with brass lids...I love them.
Great thrift finds Andrea.. the heart basket is adorable on the garage.. Love how you styled all your treasures.. the curtains are perfect and yes I think they would look great in the kitchen ☺️
Your Ky friend, Belinda❤️
I love all your finds, you just seem to know how to style everything. I have an attic FULL of fun treasures I once loved. I hate to let them go but feel like a hoarder at this point. Any tips on what you keep in your stash and how you decide what to let go of?
I tend to keep most of what I purchase because I am always playing with my decor. It’s so fun to go down and look through my treasures and switch things up. It’s also very nice for my sisters. We can share things with each other. 😊
I love all the styling decisions that you made. Incl the windmill print. Beautiful, as always.
Thank you! 😊
I collect and use those mason jars . I love them .
I SO love the little horse, such a sweet piece!
My husband wants me to thank you for your recent crusty Parmesan coated baked chicken - I made it for us tonite and he (and I ) loved it!!❤ you have shared so many family friendly, easy, and delicious recipes. I think you should consider writing a Christian Mom’s cookbook of all your favorite recipes- being a retired English college professor, I think you would have a great audience for it! Thankyou for a sweet and helpful video! God bless❤
Thank you so much! Maybe I will someday! 😊
Hi, I am from Germany and I have a little heart basket in my garden. 😂 Greetings from Annette
I did love the heart basket outside but it wouldn't hurt to have two so if you find another you have an excuse to buy it. I also liked your curtains in your bedroom window. They look really nice but still don't block all the light. I did subscribe to your channel and could listen to you all day but I need to not watch quite so much. I also follow Kristen's channel and love all her videos. Loved Isaiah on another video with the cat, so cute! I love color but your home does look so peaceful and inviting which makes me want to start all over with mine.
Girl you have a beautiful house god blessed your home love the decorations and details.
Thank you! 😊
It's always so lovely to visit with you, Andrea. Thanks so much for sharing your thrifting, homemaking, and decorating. 🤗
❤ loved the curtains !
Gorgeous home !
Love the small jar & I like where you hung the art too!
I love that heart basket!
Thanks! 😊
I love those heart ❤️ baskets!!! , such a cottage vibe, now we’ll all be looking for them!!!
Thanks!! 😊
So beautiful and so much fun ❤ always enjoy watching you
Thanks! 😊
Andrea, I agree, thrift store prices; especially Goodwill have just gotten crazy. It almost makes me not want to donate to them. Your heart baskets are definitely 80’s, but I love where you placed it outside. Maybe put some moss & a little soil in the heart and plant an ivy. The painting of the windmill looks great in your staircase wall. See you again soon. 😊❤😊🙏
You have a good man❤ Hold onto him!!
All good choices... love that you share
Thank you! 😊
I just discovered your channel. I like how your home is decorated.
I love thrifting, as it is so inexpensive to change up the home! There are quality items available at affordable prices. I like the idea of the kitchen sink cafe curtains. I use spring-loaded rods, which are in very modernized colors and finishes, not like your grandma's rods!! That way, if I change my mind and just want a valance on a window, I can easily remove the rod.
Great minds think alike!! 😉I purchased that same Windmill picture at Round Top TX. I didn’t pay $3.99 for it, but I loved it!
Love your home!
I love thrifting and antiquing. I would say everything in my home.. from decor to dishes, linens, furniture.. its all 80-90% thrifted! But we also own thrift store that we do not shop for, its all donations from persons and estates, home and storage clean outs, etc. Its A very large building and it stays pretty much packed. So I do get some things from there too. But going out & doing the shopping is my hobby, i love the hunt, finding those special pieces! And alot of the old pieces are great quality. Not to mention most are one of A kind, or we DIY the piece & make them our own. Baskets are always a good find, you can use them for so much, other than just decor. Personally I love old art & ornate frames, old lamps, oil lamps & lanterns too, primitive & antique pieces like utensils & wood pieces, kitchen & bedroom linens, doilies & hand stitched pieces.. just really old things! These are just some of my favorite things to look for & collect! I google lens everything, before i even buy it, then do more research when i get it home. I love watching you guys on Utube shop, love the hauls & seeing how you style or DIY pieces. It gives me inspiration! We're looking to buy a bigger home soon, hope to have a pantry, i want to put everything in the glass jars and canisters.. you all make them look so pretty😊 I love the way you made your curtain.. its so pretty, looks very nice! Yes to the cafe curtains😊 Great place for the art..i think adding more up the stairway will be beautiful, definitely something i would do😉 Again I enjoy these type videos always..TFS!
I can see a bird thinking that the heart basket would be a dream home for a nest.
I have a nest in one of the baskets hanging on my porch.
What a great channel. Thankyou for sharing your trip and tips, so much fun! 🌞Fl.
Love the curtains!
Your husband is a gem! Great finds!
Love your cafe curtains, great idea and they look beautiful ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful beautiful your home is gorgeous..the heart it’s so pretty I wish I could find one 😊😊🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤎🤎🤎🤎
Thank you! 😊
I love your style... I enjoyed seeing how you used some of these new finds in your home... Good idea using the tablecloth material for curtains... Looking forward to watching more of your videos ...
I like the windmill pic.
You can buy the orange seals at the hardware store, or anywhere you buy canning supplies. I always like thrifting with you. I like to look at the linens, too, for "fabric". I think the hearts were real popular in the '8o's Country decor style. I was a newlywed back then.
I have recently told the checkers at my thrift store it is like shopping retail!!! For a more I can buy something at Walmart. Plates are $3.00 to $5.00 each! Coffee mugs start at $3.00!!!! Seriously... its getting ridiculous. But it is sure saving me alot of Oh my gosh, that little green ramekin for $1.99 reminded me of being a little girl, at a store called Capwells back in the 1950s. We would shop, then go to the cafe in the basement and they had that little green cup filled with custard. It was my favorite treat, sitting there with Mom eating our custards. It was a time when something like that felt so special. It must have been ,because today at 73, the memory was right there. Those shower bombs must be all the rage , I have seen it on 5 bloggers sites in the past 2 days. I may just have to try it. Love the windmill print. It looks great on the stairwell wall.
Aww! Thank you for sharing that memory with me!! How special!! 😊❤
Andrea, I really like the curtains that you made. It was a clever use of the tablecloth. The windmill picture is lovely by your window. I hope that you eye issue is resolved quickly.
the seam you created on your bedroom curtain is call a french seam, i double fold my seams like this too, your home is lovely xx
Everything looks beautiful love it and you are right thrift stores and goodwill are getting too high on prices ❤
Lovely finds Andrea😊 Thrifting is so much fun!! I love the thrill of the hunt! I like the gallery wall idea😊 Enjoy your day😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the video. Your home is beautiful. Husband is great and a good sport to hang out at the store with you.
Love love your videos beautiful frame thank you for sharing your gorgeous H🤍ME..have a beautiful blessing Friday 🙏🙏✨🤎🤎🤎✨🤍🤍🙋🏻♀️
Thank you! 😊
Yes, those heart baskets were popular in the 80's. I had one, and another one that was two hearts together. It was super cute!
Very inspiring ❤ thank you!
I would of put the wood heart on the shed door
Love the windmill print it looks really good going up the stairs
