The Blues guard who is the Elizabeth Cup Winner is one of my favorites because he doesn’t put up with any nonsense from the tourists! I wish more of the other guards were more like him.
He has a real presence..he's my favourite trooper!! My outright favourite is a certain Blues COH..such a fantastic NCO!!

Great vlog again today. When you said the horses name Vetoria the second time she snaped her head up and then the ears perked up was so good and when she turned her neck and you can see the nice brown color & black main hair in that light was lovely on the horse thanks for always showing a wonderful vlog😀

@suzannelewis761 It is not easy to lose a loved one. Except for two first cousins on my mom's side, I'm the last one of my generation. All my cousins on my dad's side are gone. All the first cousins on both sides had children, but they didn't grow up around me, and they are all scattered across the country. I am blessed, however, to have good Chistian friends locally. We help sustain each other.

I find it odd people would complain about people speaking to you, whilst filming, as I'm sure they'd do the same if they came across you in the yard! I enjoy the chats as your photog friend, and a couple of the other filmers can quite often fill you in on what's been going on before you arrived, or what's in the future. To me, it's all a part of the experience.
So refreshing to see children who are truly interested in where they are visiting and so well behaved. You are right the one teacher looked just like James Corden.
This man in the guard is just amazing. Few are so forthcoming and as you say, they are positively overcome in those uniforms!!
I hope all the Guards and horses enjoyed their time on holiday , but I am so glad there back. I missed Ormonde so happy to see he is back. Now those rude tourist will be put there places because we know these Guards and horses won't have to put up with them . I felt so bad for the others that were there , I had to stop watching because I would get so upset how they were being treated and not being able to say much and when they did , the tourist ignore them and they were so disrespected shame on those tourist . I'm glad Reds and Blues are back along with all their horses especially our fav ones like Ormonde, Arnie, Monty and the rest . I still think the signs should say no touching the horses and Guards . Thanks John for all your video's and for sharing your do's and don't and giving us a tours around London .

I'm shocked that British school children don't know about the King's Guards and Horses!! You would think that the parents and school teachers would inform them as soon as they're old enough to understand. If this was in My country I would definitely know about it!

Pomp and circumstances, we've had alot of excellent bands, Horsehold C at Horse Guard, Trooping of the Colour. Finally the Opening of Parliament parade. Then no more, 😱. Expect John and his cohorts.

Thank you for your running commentary because I have learned a good bit about the horses and guards and the various events surrounding them and their jobs. Loved when both horses reacted to you saying their names. Victoria seemed surprised to hear her name being said which was cute. Personally I don't think anyone should be touching the horses without asking first and definitely not when it is heavily crowded and the horses seem unsettled, bored,or over stimulated which only leads to an unpleasant experience as the horses nip,bite,kick, shove or try to steal purses, sweaters, backpack and anything else that catches their eye especially when it's on a rude tourist. Hopefully the weather improves soon. I live on the East Coast of the United States and the humidity here is always pretty bad and it has been horrible for the last 2 weeks.

I'm fairly certain the other Life Guard horse you didn't get a chance to identify, John, was Isengard.
That happened in Eden Park Auckland NZ. With the Rugby game 24 -17 to the All Blacks against England on the weekend. It's been thirty years since AB's were beaten at Eden Park: Agreed . . . it is the winner of the Elizabeth Cup in that first lot of Blues and Royals, I recognised him too. The crowds are amazing Thank you for another hour of fine and super horses and Guards: Kiwi
World Cup Final1966 , on family holiday in Cornwall , mum and I at a horse show Dad in the pub with his mates watching the match ! No surprise Mum drove us back to the b&b after 😂😂😂. Strange how once the gates opened everyone stayed on the street ! What a shame for the school group and teachers missing it by 5 minutes . What a nerve , someone telling your friend the photographer not to talk to you when you're filming , he often provides you with valuable information and is a genuinely nice man ! What a lovely gentleman the Coldstream guard was interacting with the children , poor man must have been roasting . I hope you get to film Beating The Retreat and enjoy it yourself 😀. The attempt on Reagan was in 1981, right after the inauguration. I was 6 yrs old, and in 1st grade at parochial school. I remember my class being lined up, walking to the church, and kneeling in the front pews; there were TV cameras from the local stations there, too.
I only know one phrase in Mandarin and, trust me, you don't want to know it. Although I would probably use it sometimes if I were there. I am not polite to rude people. LOL My hubby says I'm allowed, as for many years I had to put up with the fools and at 76 "If you don't like me, I really don't care." is my attitude. LOL Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
John I passed basic training in August 1974 in Fort Dix,New Jersey then went to my advanced training in Aberdeen,Maryland at Aberdeen Proving Grounds for my training as an Aircraft Armament Sub-system Mechanic then after that to Airborne training.

Hi John.Yes, the guard at the ticket table would have had to have been a musician. Regular guardsmen and even the Pipes (or Fifes) and drummers are set to a very high physical standard and would not be allowed to wear glasses. Even older guards in their 30's and older have to go through a tough physical fitness test carrying a full pack while running. My husband (Irish Guards) had to do this at the age of about 38 or 39. Of course this was over 40 years ago, but I'm sure it is the same today! By the way, I am in the U. S. and watch you every day!

John in this country there is a legal ratio of staff to pupils depending on age. I frequently had responsibility about 10 pupils from a class of 30. With my head constantly spinning to make sure I could see all of my group.

Yesterday, my Fb feed started showing "Horse Guard" videos. I started watching, to deselect them to 'show less'. They were awful, especially with knowing a youtuber was posting revealing images of Troopers.
That was awful. He was paid for that clip. Please watch John on City Walks, he talks and informs as he videos. Educational and entertaining
@@shirleykibbie5149 This IS 'London City Walks' channel. Listen/read Buska's side of the story to get a balanced view. He claims he was not paid, just as John claimed he was not paid for his footage of the trooper who fell off a horse back in April. There is no proof either way for any of their stories, so don't invest too much emotion in them. CZcamsrs are not close friends or family who we know in real life.
