The Soviet Object 906 light tank is probably the best of its type in War Thunder, at least in my opinion. This 7.7 vehicle is stabilized, has a very fast autoloader, and APHE rounds that can take out just about anything in one hit. I think Gaijin should move it back to 8.0, it has no business fighting 6.7s.

Hey spookston. The next tank you and oddbawz should suffer in is the M5A1 Stuart with SAPHE only. Or if you’re feeling extra spicy, try the M6 heavy using the 37mm only with SAPHE.

For slightly less suffering, the m22 gets the saphe as well. So only using the m22 with saphe is also an option

I remember playing as a tiger 1 (I'm one of the few german players that realise how stupid op it is) and I was sitting behind a junction on abandoned town and I got shoved out of the way by a tiger 2p right in front of a t34 american heavy. We both died. : /

For ones who were intrigued by Spookston's words about a crocodile
In Russia, a crocodile is a slang name for desomorphine, a handicrafted opioid injection narcotic, made from cough syrups or pills that contain codeine. Low quality input and harsh circs give an output of a mud-coloured liquid, that contains remnants of acids, gasoline and other reagents that are used during the brewing process. Once I was in a battle with my Leopard 1 in the new map
I was fighting one of these obj 906s and I managed to get a shot on his turret, killing one of the crew members (who I thought was the loader of the supposedly non-autoloading tank)
At the time I didn't know it had an autoloader, and a real fast reload for that, so I sat on front of him to put another round into him, reasoning that I would out-reload him since he had shot at me at the same time I shot him

Would you say the object 906 is better than the amx-13-90? I remember having to argue against a warthunder veteran on the forums once, as they persisted to argue that the object 906 was a actually an underpowered tank and inferior to the amx-13-90. Honestly I think he was crazy
Object gets a faster autoloader, larger ready rack, APHE , stabilizer, better reverse speed and can swim.
AMX-30-90 gets a slightly better HEAT-FS round.
That guy had severe Russia suffers syndrome.
If you consider that the AMX is .50 cal proof then I would also say its better, I personally never had a problem dealing with those vehicles (obj906 pt76 normal ver and bmps) since I usually spam my HMGs at anything I see. Though it's most likely that i played against people who didn't use their vehicle to their full potential
@@roadhigher In addition to that, OPj also has half the repair cost. obj could go to 8.0/8.3 and not have any issues, I dont even wanna guess how an amx-13-90 would fare
@@user-rs5ui5lg5i I’ve .50d 906s many times before. They usually survive unless you’re firing at a vulnerable spot. Hit the rear and you’re only going to damage the engine, hit the front and they’ll bounce. Top works for tall tanks and planes but only rounds to the sides will kill if you’re anything shorter.
Then again, it’s still up to the whims of the snail as sometimes you can shoot this thing with a 120 mm cannon and “bounce”.
Heck, I’ve shot this thing with my CEV’s 165 HESH before and it survived.
Probably the same kind of dumbass to argue that the t55a is worse than the m60aos

You should play the IKV 91 now that it has had its B.R. increased. It is "no armor best armor" while also having a laser rangefinder and a 400mm pen heatfs. One of my all time favorites.
I absolute hated fighting those things with 6.7s
I loved playing with a line up of the ikv91 and the strv 81 when the where both 6.7s

Love your editing style. It's the perfect mixture of keeping it humorous and entertaining as well as being genuinely insightful to how you play the game from your commentary and gameplay footage.
That second STRV kill was soooooooooo nasty. Getting what is essentially a roof shot is always satisfying. If possible could you also do a video on the M50? It's mostly thought of as a meme tank but I feel like with enough practice it can be one hell of a fun tank to master because of all the potential to wipe out an entire flank.
I remember the patch when the OBJ 906 came. People thought the PT-57-2 or whatever that shit is called was OP. Imagine a time when you were at 7.0 BR with a 4 second reload. vs WWII tanks and maybe a few centurions here and there. This was before Sweden, Italy, Israel, and China. When it was just US, GER, RU, Brit, and japan tanks were just released but didn't have what they have now.
Actually it was fine it was when gaijin decided to buff it in later patches that it became op such as giving it a 4.0 reload

I love the 906, but I haven't had a downtime in over 50 games. I've counted. Over 50% of my games are uptiers, and early game jets/helos are just brutal. Glad you get top tier gameplay tho...

@@LeiSnows Yeah the war thunder matchmaker is pretty magical. If I play 7.7 all I get is 8.3 and 8.7 but if I play 6.7 all I get is 7.7. Maybe downtiers are just a myth created by gaijin

hey Spookston, great vid as always. I was wondering if you could do a video on the British line up after 6.0, the repair costs are out of this world imo I think they are a good example of why balancing with repair costs and country stats is a bad idea.

At this point volumetric feels more like an RPG RNG than a realistic depiction of armor performance.
Rolls D20, IKV uses saving throw, gets constant 1's on an IKV that requires a 1 roll miracle bounce.

I was surprised by how long the barrel is, i wonder if the game would be better or worse with barrels being able to interact with objects in game.
(it would be terrible if the barrel was fragile like they are in real life and break your barrel on a bush by driving too fast through it)

Personally I think the premium cv90105 is the best tank in the game I would say I’m a average to a little above average player and I get like 5-7 kills average a game in it the fast mobility good gun fast reload and amazing thermals makes it a amazing tank for 9.7 but I also think it is under tiered and would probably still do good at 10.7 but it normally fights 10.7 because it constantly gets up tiered

Its really fairly balanced for 7.7 when you look at other tanks around that br range. Its just br compression hits extra hard around the 6.7-8.0 range, where you have WW2 medium tanks fighting cold MBTs with HEATFS. like T44-100 vs M60A1 AOS is totally fair and balanced

When using the PBY-5A you really should use the naval mines, they have so much more explosive mass than the normal bombs of the same weight.

Hey Spooks another vehicle I reccommend is the ARL-44, the french tiger as I like to call it. Powerful 90mm with really good hull armour, only down side is the lack of a proper reverse gear, it's the size of france and the turret cheeks can be a bit of a weakspot.
Edit: It's french so no APHE :3
