She may not be the most useful blade, but she was the first rare blade I ever pulled; so she's still special to me.
It's a shame that she isn't better she has one of the best Blade designs imo.

Perun is definitely one of the most beautiful blades in the game
The best part is when Nia summons her. She rolls the "R" in Perun, and it's wonderful
Fun fact! Pretty sure I've discussed this one before, so,,, whatever.
Her, Godfrey, and Perceval have very different ideas on how to approach justice and one of the game's DLC quests *does* acknowledge it.
That's where Godfrey calls Perun a masochist (first amazing thing I've seen him do or say)
I think there is a heart to heart with godfrey and zeke that gives him an existential crisis. He’s like “My passion for justice is burning, so why am I not a fire element. WHY AM I NOT A FIRE ELEMENT!”

I think monolith chose to give ice and dark to the justice-trio (not to be confused with the swords of justice) to juxtapose their own personalities ("the people seeking it are fiery and they aim to bring 'light' into this world, but the process is often times cold and dark" kinda vibes).
I find that they executed this perfectly with Perun and Perceval (Perun could easily be light and fire imo. Perceval COULD be fire. This is only for the aesthetic, of course. Their current elements are ALSO for gameplay balance, which is important).
Godfrey though... Godfrey's just very annoying and very pushy (so much so that his passion for justice is dulled for me). I'd make him earth element. Stubborn. Unmovable (not a compliment).
Funnily enough, I'd say Godfrey is based more on an freeze-burn than just ice, so you could say his inspiration is... a weird word-play?
Anyway, idk how this turned into me giving an analysis of Monolith + The artists they worked with's choices and to someone, but here you go 😭
Watching even the tougher enemies' HP bars melt in this game (like at 10:07), even with the weaker Blades, is honestly one of the most satisfying things. Holy moly is the combat system rewarding.
Perun can be summed up by the phrase “auto attacks kinda suck”

aside from being an Amazon. But seriously she was designed by the artist of Code Geass. That alone is awesome.

It's a shame Perun is not a better Blade, because she's absolutely gorgeous.
I like Perun she was my only Ice blade who wasn't Ursula for most of my game and Ursula was off doing her singing thing most of the game
She does actually have one pretty important niche use:
She's a suitable replacement for Dahlia if you don't have her yet.
I feel like Perun is a blades whose skill design leans more towards the early game where auto attacks still have some value as a damage source because you need to use them more in the early parts of the game. She also sort of fits the role, or at least is designed to, of an emergency switch in if things are going sideways which is probably more useful in the early game to where you aren't building party meter as quickly.

Perun’s design is amazing! While she may not be an amazing blade, her style and personality are something to behold.

You didn't go over that if you put Perun, Newt, and T-Elos on the same team, the driver they are equipped on immediately suffers from "Crushed Pelvis" status and become incapacitated. It even works on Nia and Morag!

With Azami low HP gimmick, that might be powerful chain attack shenanigans.

Glad to see these guides are still coming out! I started a new Xenoblade 2 playthrough on a whim and I'm re-hooked
Perun was one of the first blades I pulled (after Boreas and Dahlia) on Morag and I used her for the rest of the game, can't explain that!
I know Perun may not be very good, but I really like her as a character, and she was one of the first Rare Blades I got so I'm always going to enjoy finding ways to use her. For example, she was really helpful when I was still figuring out how to use Herald, who kept dying - and both of them have very strong level 1 specials for Chain Attacks!
When I see this blade, I get the urge to revolt against Britannia

Perun is one of my favourite blades in this game!
While Bloody / Demon Orb Perun is far from optimal, it is a fun use of her skill.
With a Demon Orb, Diamond and Loincloth / Vambraces and you got yourself a very tanky, and self-healing blade.
It's really fun seeing her take hits that under normal circumstances would KO any blade, or solo-ing superbosses all the while you are in no danger whatsoever.
As stated before, it is far from optimal as the process is very time-consuming, but it's nice to see her excel in her one niche.
Apart from her 16 hit Level 1 Special that is.

Aside from having probably one of the most unique methods of unlocking her Affinity Chart, that is. I mean come on, one of them even requires salvaging Heavy Round Shields lmao.

I love Perun's design, she is probably my favorite gacha blade. It really sucks that she's not very good. I've tried Demon orb set-up, and its not too amazing, but I also don't have Perun at S+ yet. Maybe I'll try something with T-elos or Herald lol. Thanks Enel!
Since Defender works when they're only _low_ on HP and not just dead, I wonder if she could pair well with Azami who thrives in Chain Attacks at 1 HP.

I like Perun. You talk about a niche? You should do a Nuzlocke NG+ with her on Rex, a driver with one common blade that will die and the third driver capable of reliably and consistently drawing aggro. I'd watch that series. I'm sure it would be better than the 40ish minute one you did 😬

Too bad she’s not very useful though. I really wish her passives were about her arts/specials and not auto attacks. The single Aux core slot doesn’t help either :(

2:21 - OK THIS SHIT; I _swore_ during my entire first playthrough of XC2 with all the equipment split between "reduces/boosts arts aggro" and "reduces/boosts auto-attack aggro" that _surely_ there were different formulas for auto attack aggro and arts aggro.
After all, AA Stealth cores reduce aggro by 30% and Arts Stealth reduces by 17%, but Arts do WAY more damage, so clearly auto attacks must generate a ton of proportional aggro to their damage, right? It wouldn't make sense otherwise. If I do 100 damage with an auto attack and 74,380 damage with an art, yet you won't just give me a "less aggro" item, then there has to be something going on.
...But... no. They really just left in XC1's Auto-Attack Stealth and Aggro gems and said "whatever, the players'll figure it out."

Someone on the dev team clearly forgot how poorly auto-attacks scale in this game. Battle Plans would have to be at least a 1000% damage boost to be worthwhile.

She was the first rare blade I got on my second playthrough. Never got her on my original playthrough
Wished they would have added the greek warrior stuff indicated by her likes into her design, heavy round shield, ab armor, hopilte helmet, fancy greaves, could have took inspiration from Nephenee from FE9.
Perun is also really good when paired with Azami.

Unfortunately for Perun, her auto attack damage increase does not double the actual auto attack stat. But maybe it's for the better in terms of balancing the game

Late to the party with this, but would Perun work well on the Azami chain attack set up you showed off in her video? If Azami is in super mode, Perun is also in super mode and the level 1 is also a chain attack monster. Haven't tried it myself, so maybe there's a crucial detail I'm forgetting that makes this underwhelming

Dunno why I haven't overdriven complete Ursula over to Nia. Maybe I just forgot about overdrives completely, and prefer to try and make things work on the drivers they start on.

I got her during Chapter 3 on Rex and honestly never used her that much. I ended up giving her to Mòrag just because of the Smash art and sometimes I forget she exists just because she's not that useful when you can just use Patroka.
I always get her early so I use her a lot also her design is 10/10 along with Catalyst/KOSMOS/Brigid/Herald do not @ me)
Question: Are Blade Arts (not driver arts) not very important? I don't remember seeing them mentioned in most of these guides.

She was my first rare blade and I think she's kinda neat. Never thought she was super good or anything though. Perdido's a way better and cooler version of an auto attack set up, even though he's not particularly amazing either in the grand scheme of things.

Are auto attack talents good in the game for cpu controlled heroes? Does the cpu cancel autos? If not I feel like auto talents could be good? Not sure tho just thinking
Since she has great defensive capabilities on the affinity tree (Defender), can abuse Demon Orb, and has "Accuracy Up," that's why they gave her 1 aux core slot. Oh yeah and don't forgot her "Debuff Cancel" Blade Art. It can cancel out Doom so there's no need to equip Fighter's Circlet (100% doom res). She doesn't get oneshot as easily when solo-ing Tyrannotitan Kurodil, but the power hitters like T-elos and Vale really need to lean on crit-heal to not die. For this reason, Perun is one of my mains simply because she's an independent queen (even though fights drag on longer since I'm not using T-elos). Just need to add Nia to the party and let her die with Gargantuan Feather + Platinum Nopon Mask then swing for big damage. But as others have said in the comments, I think the Azami setup with Perun would make great team synergy. I kinda have an interest in using non-optimal rare blades just for the fun of it. The specific niche uses helps invent some interesting strategies.
The only 2 blades I seen worth relying on auto attack is fiora and Oberona and even then despite auto attack spam being good you're going to be linking it into spamming arts anyways unless with Obrona you plan on getting party guage up asap
Hi im pretty new at this game and i have watched a lot of your guides for now, only 72 hours into my current save file now not in new game plus just yet, and I was wondering why do you use common blades as backup blades, does it have to be a specific type of common blade? and also my other party mates AI sucks and changes blades almost all the time instead of healing/aggroing getting me almost killed all the time, how do you prevent this? would really like if there was a party/solo setup guide you use for battles looking through every blade you bring aux and all the stuff. What a cool blade. Its such a shame, theres literally no need for aggro reduction skills when your tank is already grabbing it all. At least auto attacks do something, and her last skill is just dumb…

Hey serious question, does Resurrection symbol revive your allies at less than 30%? Can you let your teammates die while you set up orbs and then chain attack with Perun to take advantage of Defender
No idea I've never used that accessory LOL
Could Perun work on Morag with a Rex/Mythra evasion build and Dagas/Fiora/Shulk support? With Rex always sitting on 30% HP for the bonus evasion and never getting hit, Perun would always have the 250% damage increase. Plus, should she pull aggro the 40% damage reduction helps as well.
