      @@cannoncolossus2449 I just think people exxagerate the cost difference between building your Ford to make power or swapping in a different ford to make power vs swapping a ls. There is alot of things that need to change to make an ls work in a mustang which eats into the whole "it costs less" arguments. The only dirt cheap ls engines are 4.8 and 5.3s. Ls1 costs more and the ls2 and ls3 cost more too. I mean they're great engines don't get me wrong I just don't understand people wanting to stuff one into a ford. If you wanna do ls stuff get a gm vehicle and do it lol. There are ways to go fast on a decent budget with fords too it doesn't always cost 10x more than ls builds like everyone acts like it does.

    @BREW2L Absolutely love everything you've done so far. The car is looking amazing. My only complaint is the ride height in the rear. It sitting too low compared to the front. I don't recall if you're running the isolators or not, but if you're not I'd consider putting them back on to even it out. The offset with the spacers is on point, but my OCD is kicking in with the rear tire so tucked and the fronts not. Keep up the great work and keep these videos coming.

    Thanks to lmr and other companies like them there are way more 4 lug options than their used to be back in the day. In the early 2000s when I first got my first fox the 4 lug options were far and few between and alot of guys would go 5 lug for that reason alone plus you can do sn cobra brakes which is a huge upgrade on fox cars. But nowadays with the options in 4 lug wheels and stuff it isn't as big a deal staying 4 lug. I would just run drag wheels on my fox if I had one today and you can get those in 4 lug. Can't go wrong with drag lites lol.

  • @FancyAnimal

    I daily drive a 1989 GT with 165k. Acquired in 2009 with 70K. Was woman owned. It’s been across the country 3 times including Bonneville, desert, and Rockies. Done nothing to it by necessity other than scheduled maintenance and a TFI module. Previous to that I had a 1989 LX. Daily’d it 100k to work 3 hrs and only replaced a fan, wheel cylinder, and a clutch cable. At 200k shell rusted away. These cars are very reliable and you do not need to be a ratchet-head if you buy a clean low mileage, well maintained car from someone older...as opposed to a beater purchased from a kid. The Fox is no worse than any used car of that era. Rust, heater core, fuel pump, computer, TFI module, and fan are the only items that should be of concern...unless you want A/C. If you held a gun to my head, I wouldn’t buy the car featured in this video. Buy a stocker right down to the intake silencer. Pay the extra cash. IMHO these cars are best left alone. Mass air, pulleys, mufflers, and suspension bushings are as far as you should go to preserve reliability. If you want to go fast, buy a new GT. The Fox chassis is an unstable archaic death trap. You’ll be into for the price of a new car before you get it right.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Před 3 lety +1

      I think a 96-98 2v would be a fun build. Go with ported pi heads and intake and a nice set of cams. Using the pi stuff on the npi engine gives about a 1 point bump in compression compared to an original pi car so you end up around 10.5:1. With a solid set of cams and good port work you can get up above 300 rwhp with the right supporting mods pretty easily with the stock bottom end. Not bad for an old 4.6 liter 2v. They sound delicious too. Plus those cars are some of the easiest cars to coyote swap if you ever wanted to go that route. That body style is underappreciated but looks sick when the right drop and a set of wide meats on em with a big lip on the wheels.

    • @mikegay8511
      @mikegay8511 Před 3 lety

      I may go that route. A 96 to 98 GT'S are still cheaper and still in good nick to found. I could do one just to experience a 2 valve action. The other for a Coyote swap! Those would be great project cars for me.

    Hey! I just saw your video! Loved the info! Got a question for you. What do you think of the cobra intake for an AOD? It’s a daily driver with 4.10s magnaflow catted x pipe and flowsmaster 40s. Want to just be a quick street car and nothing else. No boost. Keeping it NA. May not go for heads, but have bbk shorties as well, forgot you mention that. Everything else though, is bone stock. Would like to make at least 300hp to the crank. Am not going to buy heads or rockers anytime soon cause am broke. Also, I have a transformer shift kit for my rebuilt AOD. Is the AOD shuffle possible with that kit? Heard that it won’t destroy the transmission. What do you guys think?

    What do you think of the Ford Motorsport “C” springs, instead of cutting the factory springs?

    • @truesyn1
      @truesyn1 Před 4 lety +1

      The C springs are not progressive rate. Check out the B springs (M-5300-B), which I am going to get soon.

    Convertibles weigh more in the rear so watch cutting the springs a whole coil on the rear.

    I am hoping someone can honestly answer this question. I owned a 1988 5.0 GT Mustang Speed density air induction system. At what speed, this car gets sucked down, suspension system drops about 6-8"? due to the aerodynamics system and over-rides the power steering system? Since my speedometer in my car only went up to 85mph lol, I have no idea how fast I was going. All is that it took about 6-8 seconds for the needle to move off the pin after applying the brakes firmly . The pins is placed in the middle bottom about another 10-20 mph from the posted 85. I don't recommend just anyone trying to find out unless is safely done on the track with someone's else holding radar gun.I am hoping someone can honestly answer this question.
