Whats your pressures your regulators when using the rose bud? I run around 10-12 on acetylene and 50 on the oxy. Too low pressure on acetylene is what's causing the mixing tube to heat up and the popping.
Best thing is to leave it al ok nog for the night.uf joy tey cool it off fast you run the risk of warping the flywheel bill.it will be cold by morning if you leave it outside all night long.
Hi Bill, where did you say you got that light from? I like it and would like to get one or two myself. Could you provide the link for it please? Thanks!!
There isn't any reason to heat the old ring gear. Just drive it off with a punch. Clean the mounting surface and warm up the new ring gear and drop it on. I've done it hundreds of time over the last 45 years.
Bill. Generally it's a good idea to just snip ring gear and wack it with a chisel. Then don't heat ring gear on the flywheel. Heat it on some bricks and then it fall onto the cold flywheel. Well, you did get it on. Good work I guess. Keep on keeping on Bill
Been watching you for years bud. Keep up the good videos!
Nice work
Thanks
You need a torch to expand the ring gear to put it on, But just a hammer and punch to get one off, done many as a mechanic.
I have heard of this working. Now I can say I have actually seen it done. Thanks Bill.
there ya go 👍👍
You could of put the new gear in your oven. Keep up the video's!!
Good job, thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work!loving the tractor series!
Thanks 👍
Benn along time fan love the vids
Them outdoor lights seem to work pretty good!
ya that ring gear looked to put up a little more fight then any other one i have taken off.
seemed to. more heat than I wanted to use
Never a again. Had to beat off the ring gear doing it this way. Chipped the flywheel ..Next time I grind it and split it with chisel.

maybe because I was lower on oxygen
Finally got it about time. I would have grabbed my grinder with a cut off wheel and been done with it.
that one you can’t due to the recess in the flywheel
It may be stupid how the starter works but you have to consider the time in which was designed an engineering mechanic created it.
it’s pretty good really. for that time

Real handy gas torch, there has to be a dodgy seal that expands more than it should and farts a bit of gas out :-D
Torch farts, too much currry :)
Good job Bill! Do you use Victor for torches?
yeah. Princess auto special.
Burning the table to hell.
