  • If You've Had Enough Coping With Your Symptoms Of Anxiety Begin The #1 CBT/NLP Based Program Today: theanxietyguy.com/my-program/
Description: I've been getting the question of 'Dennis could you tell me what your worst symptoms of anxiety were, and how you dealt with them please' quite a bit lately, and so it's time to dive deep. I've made many videos around anxiety symptoms in the past few years but in this video I want to target the energetic/imagination side of my skill sets that I used to ride myself of coping with symptoms of anxiety on a daily basis.
Here's Why We Need To Talk About Hypochondria/Health Anxiety More!
Hypochondria is a mental condition marked by excessive and constant worry by people that they may have some kind of serious disease. The sufferer may not exhibit any physical symptoms of anxiety, or he/she may construe mild symptoms or bodily sensations to be a symptom of some severe ailment.
This can continue to haunt the person even after comprehensive tests have proved the absence of any serious medical illness.
Hypochondria/health anxiety sufferers live in perennial fear that they are afflicted by one or many diseases. Doctors may give them assurances that all is fine with them, but as the pain or cough is real, they do not believe the doctors.
Also, doctors cannot completely guarantee that a sufferer is not suffering from diseases like ulcer, multiple sclerosis, or cancer. This is reason enough for hypochondriacs to continue worrying about their worst fears.
It is important to talk more about hypochondria because sufferers who experience such debilitating symptoms of anxiety on a daily basis not only harm themselves mentally and emotionally, but also ruin many important relationships in their lives.
Hypochondriacs may constitute just six percent of the people who make visits to the clinics annually, but they make frequent visits and spend excessive amounts of time at hospitals as I did for years.
A huge amount of information about different conditions is now available through the internet online. This can also lead to worsening of hypochondria and the symptoms of anxiety that follow. Health anxiety sufferers regularly access the internet and find out about information on new illnesses or new presentations of older illnesses that they were never aware of!
Most doctors consider hypochondriacs/health anxiety sufferers to be of nuisance value and do not mind losing them as patients. There are however some physicians who believe that the assumption that nothing is wrong with the patients is incorrect. They believe that there is something wrong indeed, but the anomaly has more to do with abnormal thoughts, repressed emotions, and memory than physical issues.
Hypochondria can be divided into 3 kinds of mental conditions whose symptoms are somewhat similar to those exhibited by hypochondriacs. The first kind can be classified as a variation of OCD; the second kind can be something like depression, often caused by an event that causes guilt or loss; while the third kind is made up of those who somatize and place increased time and focus on their bodies.
In all the above cases, hypochondria assumes the form of a self-reinforced vicious spiral. Health anxiety sufferers may notice some symptom of anxiety, construe it as irregular, and start exploring for additional signs. All have minor pains and twinges. Further exploration of it does often result in finding more of such minor abnormalities. Thus, even when the doctor informs you that nothing is wrong, you do not get assured as you have the sensations to prove that something may be wrong.
For all the reasons stated above, and for many more, it is important for more debate and discussion to occur on hypochondria and health anxiety. It will increase awareness about the mental health condition, and about new empowering ways to overcome and treat it.

Nausea, knot in my stomach, and derealization are the most debilitating for me, in that order. This also reflects the severity of my anxiety in the moment. Indigestion is a daily occurrence for me, which can turn to nausea if I'm anxious enough. Then I'll begin to notice knots or churning in the pit of my stomach as I go about my normal activities, eventually leading to a panic attack if I'm not careful with my thoughts. All of my panic attacks come with derealization, where I begin to lose my grip on what's real around me, making it so much harder to calm down because it feels so dangerous to be in that state. It took me learning that I had to sit with, feel, and accept the feelings of dread in my body before I found any real relief and soon stopped experiencing panic attacks and derealization to that degree. The difference is monumental from the days when I was having panic attacks every week or two and would wake up before sunrise needing to throw up for no reason and spend the day with constant dread in my stomach. I still have anxiety and indigestion that I now treat holistically, aside from the occasional antacid. I will say that I went on an SSRI for almost a year when I was having these episodes regularly, which didn't solve the issue for me but helped me feel in control enough to work through it myself. Now, I'm off all meds and can experience the same thoughts or sensations that used to devolve into panic and ease them out of my body using mindfulness and breathing exercises. I haven't dissociated in 2 years and I'm still working to improve every day so that I don't have those terrifying experiences in the future.

I feel like my mind is throwing all of these symptoms out there to test how I'll react. Def trying my best to overcome it all. Meditation, exercise, and clean eating are a must... but resolving your issues is even more important.

I went to therapy, I took medication, did meditation, yoga, aromatherapy and it took me almost 10 months to feel ok again. But i went to the root of cause and got a piece of mind but i still feel my aches and desperation but i know is part of the conditions so instead of panicking about it i just accept take deep breaths talk to God and then i calm down. stop being afraid of yourself and youll eventually would get better. love you guys and remember, your not alone. God bless and pray a lot. it helps just have faith

This video is so powerful for me, thank you Dennis. I just recently realized that when one sensation passed for me, a new one comes about. Example, for a while I always felt a foggy head, heart palpitations, sweating and fatigue. With time most of those have passed, but now I get head tension/ringing in ears and stomach discomfort. I paid no attention to head tension but the stomach discomfort is new to me. Last night it felt like my stomach was on fire and my mind was telling me “go to the hospital now!”, I laid in bed thinking “maybe this is some sort of gastric issue”. But now, I convinced myself that this is only a trick. Because moments ago I felt fine with slight stomach discomfort and conveniently everything intensified moment I got to bed. I fell asleep and as I’m writing this at the park, I feel good. Slight discomfort in my head but fine. It’s truly amazing how the mind works and how it tries so hard to pull you back

I've been dealing with anxiety/panic disorder since I've been 17 (I'm 30 now). I was able to get it in check, up until 4 years ago. My most debilitating symptoms here recently are heart palpitations (so much so it keeps me housebound anymore. anytime I try and leave my adrenaline releases like crazy.), breathing difficulty/shortness of breath (it feels like my nose is plugged up all the time), and lastly that I don't eat when I'm feeling stressed. So my anxiety has basically caused me to become anorexic, which is horrible in itself, since it makes my body that much weaker. I feel sick to my stomach when I try to force anything down. I try to stay strong and fight through the horrible attacks, but once one subsides it's like another one takes over. My body is like on constant alert. All this over the years has caused me to become depressed, and just physically worn out. Watching this video, as well as reading the majority of these comments though, gives me peace of mind that I'm not alone, and there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel if I don't give up.♡

Hang in there and try to eat. I've had anxiety where I couldn't eat and lost 15lbs in 3 months. I would eat a waffle with butter and syrup, an egg... then throughout the day, I would drink smoothies, green drinks, carrot and beer juice, yogurt with almonds, bananas and spoonfuls of almond or peanut butter. Soup. That's it. I forced myself. And if I weighed myself, I freaked out even more. I'm now eating again but still have insane light headedness.

I wake up and the tightening in the chest starts immediately and then the bad thoughts of what if this happens and that, or I can't face this today maybe tomorrow. Then the shaking in the body and the nervousness then the dreaded oh I'm running out of time at home. Oh it's torture. Pure hell for sure. I always get that 'doomed' sensation through my body that says, you gotta face it and it's like please God just get me through this. It could be something small like driving to work or going to get gas in my car...or dating. You know, regular things people don't stress about! I should really start diving more into your videos. im in the middle of FULL body numbness and tingling (for 4 days straight now), as well as not being able to sleep due to 'shock waves' and chills that i experience the moment i begin to drift off. it just continues over and over again and no matter how much i focus on breathing, it persists. The only way i can sleep is by NOT sleeping for so long, that i become so exhausted that i pass out despite those feelings.
I have been unemployed for quite some time due to social anxiety... i cannot get passed job interviews because of it. I reckon that is the root cause of my debilitating symptoms.

Done the same and still feel the symptoms only when I think about it. I swear i had something wrong with me until i was told otherwise. It was my anxiety making me think that smh. Hopefully we all can get through this.

I've had lightheadedness for over a year. MRI blood tests all came out fine. I wake up in the morning and my head is so heavy. The ENT wants me to do a CT scan to see if it's my ears but wouldn't the MRI show that? I just want to feel normal again.

All tests came back okay for my ears, this sucks because I was at least hoping they would find something.😟

@@susanpusateri well at least you're ok that's the good thing. Anxiety sucks just have to find out what helps you best. I had to change my whole lifestyle, quit eating meat, diary, sodium, quit drinking alcohol, now I've been feeling absolutely amazing.

My biggest frustration is even if I can manage to be pretty calm on the outside, at times, I start having heart palpitations and social anxiety when in a crowd or talking to someone I don't know well. It is SO uncomfortable. I want to change my subsconcious mind but here it is holding on to deep down information and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Something is just not resolved apparently.

shannonm75 You’ll need to start working with an nlp specialist and someone who’s been in your shoes.
