I’m glad you’re securing the tubs most people wouldn’t have
Thanks. I wanted to be able to move them without having to take it all apart or making a huge mess. So screwing them all together was a simple solution.
Not bad. I would maybe recommend a terra cotta water bowl because I have noticed that baby tortoises can sometimes fall over on them but that's a personal preference.
Fall over on the reptile ramp store brand bowls*
Thanks. The Tara cotta bowl is a good idea. My little guy did roll over on his bowl. It happened only once. But definitely don’t want it to happen again
Great idea, thank you 🐢
Glad I could help!
How did you cut the plastic so cleanly?
I used a table saw to cut it. It is a bit squeaky to do it that way. But a jigsaw would work. Or even a hand saw. Then you could use a file or rotary tool to clean up the edge
Cool ! mine was built outta wood. I think we have the same species are they a Herman’s tortoise?
Yeah he is a little Herman’s tortoise
Nice, voice volume was pretty low for future reference👍
Glad you liked it. And thanks I will work on that
can you make it for mee?
Did use a slab of concrete for turtle to eat on?
It’s a piece of ceramic floor tile. A small price of concrete would work too
@@SomethingJackMakes do u think that a brick would work as well or no?
@@fergusaur_7306 you would need to put the brick down low enough in the substrate so that the tortoise could get on top of it. A brick just on top of the substrate would probably be too tall for a young tortoise. And I would worry about the tortoise flipping over if the brick is too tall
@@SomethingJackMakes oh ok I’ll be sure to keep that in mind. I was just worried that the brick wouldn’t be a good substance for the tortoise to eat on.
@@SomethingJackMakes any plant decorations you recommend for an indoor enclosure ?
Yo
Yo
@@SomethingJackMakes So wait- Can this one last till adult hood or will you need to replace the setup?
@@catsforlife2491 for a small species of tortoise this could work for an adult. If you have room bigger is always better. It’s possible to add on another section later if you need. I made it to fit the space I was working with under that stand.
@@SomethingJackMakes So could it work for a greek tortoise or herman tortoise? tysm for responding we might get a tortoise soon and im very un educated right now so my goal is to give him the best home possible lol
@@catsforlife2491 this would work for a Greek or Herman. Mine is a Herman. If you are getting a hatchling I’d start with just one tub and upgrade them as they grow.
