- Lana Del Rey plays the song "Doin' Time" live in concert before a sold-out crowd at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California on October 6, 2019. The song was released on Del Rey's new album Norman Fucking Rockwell (2019). It's a cover of a Sublime song from their self-titled album from 1997, which in turn takes its chorus from George Gershwin's "Summertime." Joining Del Rey onstage were Blake Stranathan (guitar), Byron Thomas (keyboards), and Tom Marsh (drums), as well as her backup dancers/vocalists, Alexandria Kaye and Ashley Rodriguez.

For what it's worth, she also has a couple backup singers, which you might be hearing mixed in there as well.

charlie z what does it matter?! the beginning of the studio version has a more layered, radio-esque vibe than the rest of the song which is what they were trying to accomplish! and they did:)
We wanna hear the song in its best form, not just a shaky live version for the sake of saying that there’s no backing track. Idk what y’all go to concerts for, but I go to hear my favorite songs in a live setting and get to be immersed in it, so I like when they accompany it with backing track because it sounds better and fuller.
