Concerns after New College removes, then tosses books

  • Some students and faculty want a heads up the next time News College of Florida in Sarasota decides to remove books on campus.

    Maybe the books were tossed and the room was closed because NO ONE read the books and no one went to the ridiculous program.

      Did you even look at titles of the books in the dumpster? Contemporary Archeology, War of the Worlds, and so on. It’s a whole sale book burning regardless of subject matter.

    Wow why throw away all those books they should have been donated them I don’t understand why people want to do away with books especially with internet always crashing and hurting your eyes constantly reading off a computer or phone

    I honestly didn't know actual books were a thing in colleges . I figured it was all e-books by now. I always thought books from libraries were gross . How many dirty hands and sneezes. , dirty floors etc.

    There is such a thing as printed material that contain not only speculations without proof or evidence of truthfulness, but also many that contain worthless writings, worse than fantasy!
    In other words, just because it is in print does not mean it is in the same category as other writings that are of great recognizable social value worthy of being considered as truly reference material of great sustained value.

      Believe it or not, people read books to LEARN about stuff, random stuff, it's how you gain knowledge. Close minded folks are unable to comprehend this fact, because they think they already know everything and THIS is why they are always SCARED of EVERYTHING. Sad.
