This is the unofficial anthem for my son who was born with Down syndrome and has had a medley of health issues. His most recent triumph as a warrior was open heart surgery at thirteen months old. My lil warrior has changed my wife and I both. I know this song can apply to warriors of all kinds. Music like this is power, release, motivation, and an opportunity for unity and understanding. Thanks Atreyu.

I don't think I have heard any other song from Atreyu so this sounds great to me. Sometimes bands change guys it doesn't mean their songs are bad
I have listened to them for better part of a decade and this rather similar to a lot of their songs. Still another great piece of art by a very talented band.

10 years ago, I was battling depression as well as GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and I was convinced to see a doctor over it. As a result I was maxed out on four different medications that weren't supposed to be mixed together. Had several doctors during checkups ask me how I'm still alive that those meds should've killed me. If it was out at that time, I'd have shown my physicians this song.

I kow bands gotta change but that's the sound we are yearing for. That passion doesn't exist in a mainstream vibe. FUCK the mainstream. I remember listening to atreyu since I was 13. The first album i heard was the curse. It was like a drug. 6 hours straight on repeat in the back of a van headed on a road trip. We love you guys. Just feels like you are singing/playing what the world wants you to sound like and not how you are meant to sound. I still check every day for a new song after over 10 years.

I saw this on lambgoat and had to come see the comments lol... seems everyone feels the same way..sigh. After jamming every album in its entirety for the last 17 years that Ive been a fan, Im sad to see you go. Just like Asking Alexandria, one of my faves falls to the radio rock scheme. 2 minutes and 45 seconds with a 25 second drum feature by tRaViS BaRkEr and "I am a warrior" repeated 11 fucking times?! I gotta say I thought the band was good enough to easily stay afloat without Alex but its obvious that he contributed a lot more to its direction than we assumed lol. No words... like, literally this song would have been better with no words.

Agreed on the Alex point. I always assumed he was one of the less influential members when it came to overall direction, I knew he wrote some of the lyrics and was instrumental in the whole dueling vocals thing they had goin on but still.... Absolutely false. Everything from Suicide Notes up to Long Live has been banging. I still liked In Our Wake, but it wasn't what Atreyu was known for. This however... I don't know if I'm a fan of... maybe it'll grow on me.

Okay, so here's the thing: I didn't grow up with Atreyu. I found them a couple of months ago, shortly after Alex had already left. So I got to know all of their songs roughly at the same time and not in chronological order.
I didn't even notice that Warrior and Save Us were different from the rest. Most of their songs sounded great to me, and my negative thoughts on Warrior didn't surpass an "eh, a little repetative, but still good".
What I'm trying to say is: I know the feeling of a band changing into something you dislike. But keep in mind that, since you grew up with them, you're very sensitive to even subtle changes, because everyone tends to prefer music they're used to and have been listening to for a long time. Changes that seem huge and terrible to you might not even be that huge and terrible, but rather normal and healthy for any kind of artist.
A band member leaving is never easy. Let them explore.

A Death Grip on Yesterday was the first album I ever bought with my own money.
Listening to In Our Wake for the first time literally made me emotional because it brought back so many memories from being a teenager.
I was worried about what the band would sound like without Alex, but wanted to reserve judgement until I could hear for myself.
This was the first Atreyu song that literally did nothing for me and made me feel nothing.
Really hoping it gets better from there.
