SAUL “Brother” Lyrics
I write this letter
It’s a letter I’ll never send
Words I’d never say
Would you read it anyway?
Tell me brother what’s my fate?
Did you see the sunrise?
Did you see the rain?
We’ve come so far
Penniless in pain this is my fate
The world awaits
Hold my hands and tell me that it’s alright
You proud of everything I’ve done in my life?
Are you still listening?
Oh tell me brother
Are you still proud of me?
After everything that I’ve done?
Clock is staring
With no sympathy at all
I tremble and I fall
We need answers now!
Didn’t make the sunrise
Now only pain
I’m sorry brother
I walked away
Hold my hands and tell me that it’s alright
You proud of everything I’ve done in my life?
Are you still listening?
Oh tell me brother
Are you still proud of me?
After everything that I’ve done?
Brother - Brother - Brother
Are you still listening?
Oh tell me brother
Are you still proud of me?
You said you’d never leave
Are you still listening?
Oh tell me brother
Are you still proud of me?
After everything that I’ve done?
This song hits home for me. I have 5 brothers, I lost one to suicide and this song helps bring him back to life. Brother's are everything.
Sorry to hear that, The Begin
I lost my brother to suicide also. I played this song at his service.
Sorry bro
I am sorry for your loss. Music is always an outlet.
How did you overcome it?
I lost my brother on 30 January 2019. I first heard this song on Octane a few weeks after his funeral. Thank you, while the song is hard to listen to, it gives me a connection to my brother again.
Joshua Rowland we feel your pain brother. Sorry to hear about your loss. But we’re Equals and we got you whenever you need us.
Man that's sad! I only have a brother and hes addicted to meth! This song hits home for me! And your story as well! God bless u in your time of sadness!
Sorry for your loss my heart reaches out to you
This song hits hard. I lost my brother to suicide 1/12/2018. 💔
April 29th 2019 I lost my brother.... and one year later, almost to the same date I lost my other brother...this song helped me so much and also helped me shed soo many tears. I bought a 7 string just to learn this tune.. thanks dudes!
You can tell when someone's soul was poured into a song...this is definitely one! Thank God for octane probably wouldn't have heard this gem✌️
Hear the raw passion in this
Facts
Many years ago when I was much younger, you played in my mom's bar in Kingman Kansas. I remember helping you move your equipment and explaining what everything was. I even got a signed poster from you guys, I still have it. You have inspired me to pick up an instrument, and because of that, I'm now a bassist. Thank you guys for making such a positive impact on my life.
The love of a brother can not break.
True
I lost my older brother in 2012. When I heard this song I instantly felt it.
I wish I was closer to my brother. I sent this song to him. Brings tears to me eyes every time I hear it, we’re so far apart now that we’re adults.
I CANNOT believe you guys aren't signed. Your time has come.
They are now, with Spinefarm Universal.
When you scream/sing, -screamging?
“tell me brother what’s my fate,” cold chills for days
I like the “you said that you’d never leave” such powerful lyrics
Happy birthday brother. I love and miss you.
I remember the week this dropped on Octane, I think it blew everyone away, not just the power and the strength of the riff and shifting mood, but the sincerity shows through
So many rock bands are going the pop route now because it apparently sells. And here we have these guys not afraid to throw down and power out some killer metal.
Much respect. This is my new favorite song.
Which actual rock bands have gone pop?
@@tylerbonser7686 BMTH
tyler bonser BMTH, Shinedown, papa roach just to name a few
ehh. well Shinedown has always had some soft songs mixed in with heavier songs so all and all not much change there. Papa Roach i will kinda give you, they have certainly change since Last Resort. But then again I have a feeling that you consider anything pop when you can actually understand what they are saying. Also good job at naming a few. Both those bands are a long ways from doing a tour with Taylor Swift. Just because you dont like it doesnt make it pop.
tyler bonser Papa Roach. Not necessarily “pop” but am absolute disgrace to the metal/rock they used to be
My brothers did it!!!! Road to 1 million crossed!! I will forever be extremely proud of you 4 and Im so thankful to call all of you family and close friends. I love you guys past the moon & stars and can't wait to see 2020 be the year of Saul!! Cheers guys! #weriseasequals
Oof this comment did not age well
My oldest son died in November last year. His little brother is an Army medic who has been to war in Iraq and A-stan. This song makes me hurt for both of them. John never wanted to leave his brother and Lee always wanted to make his big brother proud.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Octane sent me. The replay button kept me. I felt this shit.
100% agree, it's like an IV for your/my soul... 💉
Heck yeah, felt it when first heard it.. have on Spotify as one of my workout songs, love it.
Mash that sub button
a grappler baki amv actually sent me here lol dont regret it, that replay button smashed
What is this Octane you speak of
Lost my brother in 2010. Chills at 3:36 Thanks for this.
My fiancé has two brothers and he loves them dearly. This song speaks to him in ways I can never understand, and I love that it brings them closer. This sound is amazing and I wanna hear more from Saul!
For everyone talking about hearing these guys on SiriusXM, you should really go see them live when you get a chance...they kick ass!! Blake, Zach, Joe and Will are all great guys and deserve the support! Buy the merch too...nicest band tee I've bought in a while and I go to a lot of concerts :)
I dont spend enough time with my brother, I really need to rethink my relationship with him. Family is priceless.
Absolutely
Am I the only one that gets excited when this comes on XM?!
Nope, you're not alone!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 love this song!!!!!
I crank it up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
Love these guys. I can't believe they still aren't signed.
No I love it just like disturbed are you ready
Nope, me too!
Such a great well done song. I know these guys personally. And trust me, they are some of the best guys around. Love my SAUL brothers.
Heard of u guys like 15 mins ago on sirius xm octane came right here to listen over and over again🤘🤘🤘rock on
Thanks SOOO Much! Glad you like it! Share and show all your friends! #equals
Same. Came on CZcams and tracked y'all down. You need your album on spotify. Besides the episode. The episode is good listening too.
Same here! Love it!
@@kelliedoffin8797 Thanks a ton! :)

My brother is my best friend !! I'd be lost without him. Love the song and the band!!!
I'm an identical twin, and I can't listen to this song without getting emotional, great song!
When CZcams recommended is on point!! Holy crap! Still as good as it was 3 hours ago.
Proud to have these guys from Iowa! Another great band to come from our state and wish them the best! These guys rock
Still gets me...every time.
I lost my brother five years ago.. this song gets me. Thanks for the music. Can't wait to hear more. 🖤
Caity Barker-MacVean sorry for your loss.
I've been playing your song over and over for the past month now. My son is 3.5 yeas old, and says when we are in the truck, "Dad can you play brother, that's my favorite song." You guys should come to The Original up in Minot, ND and play...
On a side note, my brother is mentally and physically challenged in a disability home back in Louisiana, and this song makes e think of him a lot. I told my wife a few days ago, we need to go see him. Through your music, it helps me coup and remember him. Thank you.
Dennis Madrid that is amazing! Tell your little boy he’s a rock star. And that’s amazing. We wish you all the luck with your brother. Family first
I'll never stop listening to this song, I'm an only child but my best friend who I've known since i was roughly 5 is like my brother. This song isn't just a song, there is emotion put into this and that's why I love it. I feel it in my chest, I understand the pain and strife, there is a beauty in this song. The perfect balance of sorrow but the release of it in the chorus in the outbursts of chaotic emotions creates a blend of happiness and safety to know you're past the past and into the future. Thank you Saul.
The all too real emotion this song contains is what gets you.🤘🤘
Thank to my my local radio station in Michigan. I get to hear this great song.
Sometimes you just need someone to tell you everything is going to be alright. Someone close enough for you to trust.
Like others I heard this on Octane while I was driving home one night, had to pull over I was struck by the words and message of this song. I lost many friends from the military due to personal demons and this song just resonated with me.
That's exactly what it made me think of too.....just lost another brother to suicide a couple of weeks ago....
@@ohenry4892 sorry on delay, sorry to hear about your loss. It's never easy and you're left with alot of questions that can never be answered. I have 10 brothers I've lost to suicide, and it never gets easier.
Hope you've found peace with it.
First time I heard this song was the day my Big Brother passed away ... been listening to it every day since that day.... RIP GRH Apr 9,2019
I was a big time mess up. My little brother still looks up to me and has made it easy to not go back to my old ways. Hes 24 now and is still proud of me.
whitewalker mike that’s excellent man. Having that as a backbone to make you stay on the straight and narrow is a must have. My daughter did that for me. And losing my brother started the cycle. -Blake
Love the song! Sounds like Disturbed instrumentally and Gemini Syndrome vocally.
Kevin Parizek I can hear stone sour in there as well
Along with a touch of Wayne Static.
A Saul and Gemini Syndrome tour would be the tits.
Yes! Definitely a Gemini Syndrome vibe!
I don't think they sound like Gemini syndrome
Nice jam room, great sound, 7 string, great singer, great melodies and riffs, i really need to look up more of these guys
Can't get enough of this song. I love the guitar riffs. Long live rock!!!!
I met a gentleman today at my work.... he had a Saul t-shirt on so i asked him about who it was.... we had a great conversation about his sons band.......i like this!!!!!! Awesome
Blown away! What a powerful song (and album!) Very thankful that CZcams recommendations brought me here.
Yes yes yes. Love when you hear a song and immediately it catches your ear and you can't stop listening to it. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
This is now one of my favorite songs...can't stop listening to it! Rock on👍
The people from Brazil are thankfull because this band exists
Thank God for grant random and octane!!! This song is amazing. Just heard it today and was blown away!!!!!
I came here from octane, too! My real older brother was never there for me growing up and now he's turned his back on the family. So this song will always remind me of my dead step brother that was more of a brother to me over the course of few months than my real brother ever was.
I lost my little brother in February. At 34 years old, he went to sleep and didn't wake up. He left behind a wife and 5 kids, his mother, older brother and sister. I cry when I hear this song. My brother and I hadn't talked in 6 years. This song means so much to me and speaks volumes about how I feel. Thank you for expressing my pain.
West Texas Sinderella feel free to approach us when we’re in the area.
@@williammcilravy8531 Um, that was unexpected. Idk if y'all ever come to Odessa Tx. I just moved back. It would be great to catch the show if y'all are ever here. With the responsibility that I have inherited, time is hard to come by.
Heard this on octane and this has been quite honestly one of my favorite songs lately
This song is awesome..Thanks Octane for playing these guys!
Every time I got in my car this song came on Octane SiriusXM and I LOVE IT!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Just heard this on Octane and heard that is was about his brother. I lost my older brother December of 2017 and this song is how I feel about him a lot. I wasn't able to say goodbye to him and he didn't get to see how I have grown as a father. I constantly wonder if he would be proud of me.
Joshua Zieleniewski sorry for your loss Joshua.
Being the only son in family can be sad sometimes. I have three sisters i love. The song makes my mind wonder just what my bitty brother is up too. Its been 27 years now. But i have too keep moving on.
Great song! Gotta love Octane, I never would have heard this otherwise but now I’m hooked
One of if not the best song of 2019!!!
Anytime I hear this song I immediately rock out to it over and over again
Can’t get enough of it.
I've listened to this over and over. Has to be one of my favorites easily, amazing song writing and musically amazing. Love love love it
Yup! Didn't take to long to become my favorite!
Just found this song love this guys voice! Oh and i have played this over and over again today!

Sorry to hear about your brother. Bless you guys and keep BRINGING IT!!!
Matt Kellogg thank you Matt.
This is one of the greatest songs playing right now. Best part, there are 4 other tracks on the EP that are just as awesome.
4 great guys i am glad to personaly know
4 great guys tht i am glad to personaly know. Done so much in so little time and only getting bigger
Every time I listen to this song I get spine chills!! Keep rockin' SAUL!!
The first time I heard this song on Octane, I immediately went and bought it so I can listen to it every day. And I do. It immediately reminded me of my best friend who I called my brother. He had a hard life growing up and sadly that led him to make wrong choices and associate with the wrong people. Although I knew the things he did behind closed doors, I still gave him the friend he needed. The last time I saw him alive he told me how grateful he was because I was the only friend he had that never asked anything of him and I only wanted his friendship. To this day i wish I could have been around more, even though his mother told me to never say things like that to blame myself for his passing. He suffered a drug overdose and was left to die by those he was with.
The first time I heard this I sang it in my truck on repeat until my voice horsed for 3 days, and 'You said you'd never leave' makes me cry every time I hear it. Now I talk about him every time I stream Wild Arms 2 as it was the last game we played together. I even had a memorial hat made in his honor with the quote, 'Our meeting was fate itself' from Irving's quote 'Take my hand. This bond is the only hope that continues from the past into the future. In other words, our meeting here on earth is fate itself.
RIP Andrew. I miss you brother!
Awesome in concert tonight in such a small venue
Sam Zurn thank you Sam!
Favorite new band I've discovered in 2019
Great song guys, means alot to me. Please continue to make it big.
Baaaaaad Asssssss my brothers!!! Wow!! Very emotional and powerful song . Can’t hear it enough..
Gives me goose bumps every time I hear it..
Thank you for writing it and sharing your soul with us all.
This me and my brothers song he passed away last year. today is his birthday so glad he showed me this song💚
Thank you Octane new music to sink my teeth into! This is 🔥🔥✌🎧💿💜🤘🎸🤘🎸
This song is great, thank you Octane for bringing this band to our radios. Can't wait for everyone to hear them on they are going to be great.
I'm so glad I found this! And it's not so often anymore you hear guitar solos like that! Well done to this band!
This is a song that projects great feelings of power. It should be the ending song to a movie or the hero song when the protagonist has decided to risk it all to get what he wants.
Sitting here at work listening to the radio, had to come here and listen to it again, great song, and great band
Jakoda Kost Thanks for the love! What station did you hear it on?
Jakoda Kost ffm.to/aeons
Anyone else hear it on octane and get instant hooked
Matt West yes and that voice sounds familiar like someone in another band but it doesn’t look like they have been in another band.
Heard this right after getting hired on for a job. Been down in the gutter, looking for work and this song came on. Turned it up LOUD and thank God for it cuz it made my whole day. Thank you for making my day.
Excellent song and band. Looking forward to hearing more.
You guys are so frickin awesome!! I'm so excited for you!!💋🙋♀️
If the rest of the album is like this, it's going to be fucking awesome.
Ben A. ffm.to/aeons
I can't get enough of this song/band!
2 weeks ago I heard this on SiriusXM on Octane....I'm obsessed!!!
Damn...I'm diggin the sound guys! Can't wait to hear more! Hopefully soon?? I'll be waiting!
Nick 01 thanks Nick! ffm.to/aeons
No problem!! I'll definitely be following you guys! Keep on rockin!
I have 6 brothers and lost one in a car wreck. This song hits home
I just took a screenshot of today's date and your page, so when you guys finally get big, I can say I was here at the beginning, consider myself a fan, you guys have an incredible sound, I love it
Octane Sent us all. Saul will be huge, upcoming band on the way! Underrated!
Heard it on 98.5 Lynchburg va, y'all rock, it brought me to CZcams ❤
Fantastic song, it has been on repeat in my head for a few weeks and it just gets better and better! So proud of you guys!
Just found this song I can relate I lost one of my best friends may 28th he was old enough to be my grand father but we we're like brothers
I heard this song on octane, and feel in love with it right away. Unfortunately it was right after I lost my brother, but after hearing exactly what this was about, it brought such a surreal feeling to me. Music is the way I express myself, and this way the first song that I shared after the passing of my brother. Thank you!
My new favorite song! I can't get enough👏💚💙
Hell yeah. Epic. Love the acoustic version as well.
This song has gotten a lot of our fellow brothers and sisters through a lot. An instant classic as far as I'm concerned.
Learn to sing this song, get it exposure. You wanna prevent suicide? Relating to suicidal people is how you get it done. You can only do so much talking to them, this is something they can leave on repeat and will talk to them forever.
Legendary song already!! to all of us who have a brothers. This song is for us!! Thanks to the writer, singer, band!
My favorite song of the year. This is why I fell in love with you guys. 💜🖤🤘
Amazing show at The Machine Shop! Thanks for making it worth my 3 hour drive! I would rank your performance with the legends before you here in Flint. I'm looking forward to your return, I hope to see you back! I'm definitely looking for big things to happen from you guys!
Jim M thank you Jim! Really great meeting you my dude.
Wow!!! I’m in love with song!!
My brother recently passed away in December and I was just now thinking about him again and this came on Octane radio AS I was thinking about him, this really hit me. I just think it's funny the timing.
Officially signed now with Spine Farm Records
So much emotion in this track. Hope to see these guys make it big
Thanking the good Lord for Sirius XM giving us damn good music that the regular radio stations won’t play ✌🏼✌🏼
Got here from spotify. This shit made me tear up. You guys have a new fan. Don't stray from this, the world needs more of it!
