I have to confess, I'm a new fan of Heartland. I "discovered" the show on Prime and subscribed to the Faith and Family channel to watch the rest of the seasons. That led me to CZcams videos of cast interviews, etc. I was born and raised on big cattle ranches in Oregon, which meant I grew up horseback working with cattle. My mind picks up the differences between my experiences and the situations depicted on the show, but it isn't too far apart from what I lived. The biggest non-different thing is relying on family and friends met along the journey. This video made my day. Your Granny is such a beautiful soul. She's obviously one of your most beloved people on the planet. (with good reason) Thanks for sharing her with the rest of the world.

Your grandmother is precious. I really enjoyed that. I would never guess that she is 90. My mother would have been 90 this past October, but she passed in to Heaven a few days after her 89th birthday in late 2022. I see where you get your beautiful blue eyes.🙂

I totally agree re your animals I too live on a farm here in Aussie 🇦🇺 we have horses , dogs cows & sheep , couldn’t be with out animals in my life & my hubby is the same

I'm from western NY 🐎🐄 & spent many days in Canada ❤ since 1950's. Many years ago I Watched 😃 a " Guess Who" 🎸 concert in Beautiful London Ontario ❤ 😊. Heartland is my #1 🤩 show ☺️.

Your Granny is amazing. I do like the freedoms she allowed you as a child, yet sometimes think it’s fun to discover the world together but through a child’s eyes. I like learning from children
I love this episode of Side by side and meeting your grandmother. Very special times. I am gald you spoke of letting make their own mistakes or exploring. We brought up our two daughters this way. My favorite times were when the girls and I would go out Exploring they called. From waking the creek lines, to fields and the woods. It was fun to even see them go exploring themselves and see the treasures they would return with. We did not have a TV for a very long time. More time was spent outdoors or reading. I must confress. I came across Heartland on the Rocu. I was not going to watch. The opening picture looked interesting, yet I did not watch. I have not been impressed by what is wathed or made for entertainment. So had a jaded point of view that this was just another soap opera type show I remember from years ago. One day my daughter had me sit down to watch. My family has a dairy farm and I grew up with my dad having Percherons for pulling carts. I loved them. My daughter said to me to give this show a chance and just watch one episode. That was all it took. I have been hooked on Hearland ever since. It reminds me of growing up and live around the farm. Though with some differneces. yet family life was very simmilar. I have fallen in lover with the story line and all the characters. I am not up to date on the show. I started to watch from the beginning and am going this route to catch up and watch the whole of the program. Love you all. Jim

Great video! Looks like your Granny had a very special birthday and reminds us that age is just a number that doesn't have to define what we can or can't do. Love the idea of highlighting people in your life...I learned that the most enduring impact we have in our life is how we touch the lives of others. There is something very special about the people, like your Granny, that love, encourage, and inspire us...we have a part of them with us forever.
My favorite farm activity is to just hang out in the pasture...just sitting in the middle surrounded by the livestock grazing. So peaceful mid summer and also mid winter snowstorm.
