Our penny floor in the kitchen. Start to finish in a little over a week. We used liquid nails from a caulking tube. Just spread it out with a small adhesive spreader. Used an unsanded grout. Then sealed with polyurethane.
Dont understand why this offends so many people. Steel pennies are cool, but pretty much worthless, like all other pennies. Cooper is worth slightly more but the government has a hold on them being melted for scrap, so they are pretty much stuck at the value of a penny. This looked like a fun neat project that they enjoyed and has no bearing on anyone else what so ever. Chill out people and let others do what makes them happy. Side note, they used 2 five gallon buckets full, which both hold about 500 dollars, so they have something really unique for about a grand.
I must say you guys are rude as hell it looks awesome guys that took a lot of work but the cost was a lot Less then anything you can buy at Lowe's and they customized it and also brought value too the house awesome ;)
I just watched this. I liked the fact that it was only 4mins long. It looks great. Your centre sun is very eye-catching and creative. Have any of them come back up?
I love this idea, it's so different , effective -- and must definitely be cheaper than buying new tiles or any other floor materials! I bet it would look great which ever coins u use (British / euros/ U.s ) I presume the high currency valued coins may work out abit more expensive! 💰!!!
Just wondering how you feel about the oil based polyurethane coating. Do you like it? I like the idea of being able to still feel the contours of the pennies, which doesn't happen with epoxy. Will it keep the coins from changing color? And does it have to be reapplied over time? Thanks!
Hi im doing a penny floor now in my guest bathroom but haven't decided on what type of topcoat to use yet. I heard that epoxy will turn yellow/amber over time, is yours still looking clear & shiny? how is yours holding up? Thanks Jack
Nicely done, always interested in these penny type videos. I wonder how many square feet I can cover with 2,058,815 pennies. I'm guessing about 256 pennies per sq ft. I used that exact number because this is how many pennies will be in my pyramid once I complete it. I was going to simply go with polished concrete floors with a dye but I keep finding myself gravitating back towards using pennies. Any regrets? Any cons to this? Oh you can see my pyramid under construction if you want so you'll know I'm for real. Interested in hearing your feedback on the pro's and con's and the best techniques you've developed. Perhaps you can do another video going into a little more detail. I hit the like button.
how awsome is that ? lol if you paint your ceiling with galvanised paint,,weeeeee! wi-fi power! but it would make your metal fillings receive radio waves,(voices in your head)
+Joe Coaster Soap would be my guess. Pennies and maybe a little liquid nail before he washed his hands though. As I type this I can't help but think what else would they smell like??? If there are other thoughts than soap or pennies or pennies and a little liquid nail please people help me with thought tips.
+Tryoutz747 I'm guessing it would also depend on what he had for lunch... Let's assume he had a cheeseburger with raw onions.... So now his hands smell like onions...😁
Man that took a lot of work and it turned out great. Kudos to you.
What happens if you drop a penny on that floor now? How would you ever see it?
They drop a penny and never found it. The lady of the house went insane and in now in Bellevue mentally hospital.

Incredible! How much money worth of pennies used?
I love this idea, it's so different , effective -- and must definitely be cheaper than buying new tiles or any other floor materials! I bet it would look great which ever coins u use (British / euros/ U.s ) I presume the high currency valued coins may work out abit more expensive! 💰!!!
that looks like a nightmare to grout lol all the reliefs and unevenness in the faces
Haha the cool part is that would have been cheaper than tiles!
+roflcopterkklol What makes you think that?
OR ELSE Good quality floor tiles are generally really fucking expensive.
roflcopterkklol I know i was being sarcastic lol haha

Beautiful. That shiny penny coating makes a beautiful floor. If you put a piece of shiny laminate over those pennies that floor will last forever.
"Then sealed with polyurethane."
Very well done
That looks nice
looks great man, what base glue or grout did you use, cheers
WOW!
Making a floor with pennies makes so much.... cents.
Did you purchase a brown grout? Also what do you use to clean the floors? What brand of polyurethane did you use?
what polyurethane sealer did you use? Nice job!
how has that floor held up. im thinking of something similar
Hi im doing a penny floor now in my guest bathroom but haven't decided on what type of topcoat to use yet. I heard that epoxy will turn yellow/amber over time, is yours still looking clear & shiny? how is yours holding up? Thanks Jack

Cool idea......floor looks like it cost a pretty penny !!
what has been your overall pros and cons?
Very nice

would the penny floor actually increase the value of the home.

How long did this take and how many pennies?
What would you use to adhere pennies to concrete?
Less than $2 a square foot.....pretty cheap
I wish I could do that!
very creative idea, just takes a lot of time, but the floor might conduct electricity now.
Very cool! How's it holding up? Thx
How many wheat pennies did you destroy there?
how many Penny's per square foot
then was just silicone? no Clear Resin?
how awsome is that ? lol if you paint your ceiling with galvanised paint,,weeeeee! wi-fi power! but it would make your metal fillings receive radio waves,(voices in your head)
Suddenly I feel like washing my hands.. Inb4 OCD trigger
what brand of polyurethane did you purchase?
Does ur floor need an earth outlet.?
Glaze mix would make this awesome floor last forever
Awesome how many pennies
i wonder how hard its going to get when you drop a penny
I wonder what his hands smelt like after wards
+Joe Coaster Soap would be my guess. Pennies and maybe a little liquid nail before he washed his hands though. As I type this I can't help but think what else would they smell like??? alanms1975 You are correct sir!!!
+Joe Coaster
Maybe like the 30,000 hands of all the people who handled the pennies last :D
They prob smelt like blood
could you do this on subfloor?
Freaking out because I don't know if the took out the wheat pennies
so how many pennies did it take to cover the floor
Thats awesome man.. how many pennies did it take and what you think it ended up costing per sq foot?
It takes about 250 pennies per square foot
