Hobbies are so important and can be life changing. In the past 8 years I've picked up several different dance classes, circus classes, knitting, crocheting, hiking, biking, surfing, yoga, and continued my hobby of reading. Life is meant to be enjoyed.

Hobby girl era is exactly what i want my next yr to be. I wanna get into reading and drawing (i used to do both a lot but got busy) I wanna crochet, write stories. As u can see these r super creative. I would also love to learn to dance but I'm scared of going to dance classes cuz everyone will already be so good. I also wanna start a youtube channel, play video games, cycle, swim. girl I def want to do a lot but i doubt i'll hv time but i'll do my best 😭😭
please go to that dance class, girlie!! it's not about how good you are or anyone else is, it's about your enjoyment and the fulfillment you get out of doing something you love! we have got to get out of the mindset of thinking we have to be super duper good at our hobbies, like please just enjoy yourself and have fun!! and who know, you might be one stellar, kick-ass dancer so don't doubt yourself! sorry for the long, corny ramble, I just felt the need to let you know, one stranger to another, that I think you're awesome already !!

This is my fav podcast ever. As someone who grew up with only brothers and around boys this podcast feels like I'm listening to an older sister
I started hobbies during the last quarter of the year! And it has been life-changing, so far! I wanted to pick something old that I knew I loved and missed, and also some things that I hadn’t tried! So for the old hobby, I picked reading, and it has been so much fun, just delving into stories, and loving it just as much as I used to! For the new hobbies, I picked embroidery, I wanted, non-screen hobbies, because I work full-time on social media and my business, so I did not want to be on my phone during said hobbies! And the last one I picked is a sport! I decided to start taking lessons for ice-skating and I sucked. I was literally the worst in my class! And now we took our final exam, and I skipped a level along with my other peers! One thing that I’ve been keeping in mind while I do these hobbies, is progress over perfection! I’ve always been a perfectionist, and at first it was my biggest strength, but now it is almost suffocating? so if you’re a perfectionist as well and it’s been getting in the way of things that you want to accomplish, I say do something that you know you suck at so that you can progressively get better! I know it sounds weird, but it helps make the activity more fun! If it’s something you know you can easily master, you might be too focused on mastering it! Although I love ice-skating, I’ll never be in Olympic level ice skater, and that’s OK! I love how it makes me feel. I love the sport I love the rink and I love how it looks and that’s enough for me! Do I want to get better? Absolutely ! But my goal is not perfection, it’s progress! So, when I make even the smallest amount of progress, I feel so proud of myself instead of feeling like it’s not enough! I know this is long and most people probably won’t read it but I hope this helps somebody, even if it’s just one person 🩷
Yes! We all need hobbies especially as we get older and lose our “play time.” I love all your suggestions! Another really fun hobby that I never thought I would have been interested in is learning how to pole dance which lead me into the aerial arts world! It’s so much fun and if you want to meet open, like-minded women, it’s one of the best places ever! I now know so many women of all ages and they’re all super fit and playful and supportive of each other and I could not recommend it enough 💖
i’ve been collecting retro video games/electronics for the past 8 years and it started as a childhood interest in video games to a want to own cool niche memorabilia and rare items, it’s definitely my biggest hobby, searching around stores and garage sales for stuff is super fun and i love to display all my stuff
I started a hobby last year and honestly it was the best thing I have done for my confidence and mental health I have met so many new people and I have built a tiktok community to inspire others🥰 it’s honestly the best thing I have done

Hi, a COLLECTOR HERE 👋🏼💕 I actually have so many hobbies but I did want to share what I collect: so I love collecting all kinds of cute pretty pebbles/rocks and I store those in clean jars and display them with my plants. I guess you could say I also collect plants (mostly vine plants because I love propagating them) but my most proud collections are of FOSSILS & MINERALS (most people call them crystals, but I like them for their scientific natural purpose, not healing purpose) I basically have a museum in my house and I love incorporating my fossils ( some that I dig out on my own) around my house as home decor
Ooo I also collect a lot of mugs, antiques, and books!

love this! i started investing so much more time and energy into my hobbies last year (crocheting, painting, drawing, cooking) and the difference i feel in my confidence and overall happiness is amazing. i want to continue doing those things this year and also get into knitting, sewing, embroidery, and cross-stitching! loved this video :)

I started ice skating a few months ago, this year I wanna improve my ice skating by becoming more flexible and stronger. I also want to start reading and doing my nails more. I am addicted to tik Tok and instagram and im trying to spend less time on them and go outside more.
This video came at the perfect time for me. I’ve just stumbled across your podcast and it’s already changing my mindset and my life. when i was a kid i collected stones, even painted them! nowadays i still pick up some but what i really am collecting is monster high dolls, i put them on display all over my room :)
Now that I have a break from my studies, my current hobby has been crocheting Christmas gifts while listening to your videos :)

i’ve been working on this for over a year and it’s all about baby steps. i’m now learning two languages for fun (norwegian and welsh), im fluent in french and still improving every day, im reading more, i started learning drums and even with just a little bit of work every day i’ve been improving exponentially, i learned to crochet and completed multiple projects, i learned how to solve a rubik’s cube in under two minutes, i’ve improved my sewing, fashion sense, and just up cycling of clothing, i started volunteering at an animal shelter, etc etc etc. sadly now i have no time to sleep because i go to a highly competitive school and have to maintain straight As. you win some you lose some ig, but i hope someday i can thrive academically in this environment and keep up with my hobbies
You are real about waking up are staring at a wall for hours or talking to yourself to pass the time! It’s crazy how we don’t allow ourselves to be away from our phones in moments where we should allow ourselves to be bored

I have so many hobbies and pursuing my art and writing on the side of my 9-5 😭 but still excited to listen, my husband says I never relax haha. I relax by doing a different hobby or pursuit than one I was already doing that day XD

when it comes to collecting items, I love to collect crystals, minerals and rocks, sea shells, small holy items, and glass objects! I find my crystals in crystal shops (lol), and anytime I visit a new town or state, ill try to find one of these shops to get a small item for memories! I like to find my holy items and glass objects in antique shops or when im thrifting; for glass, it can always make a great gift when im ready to surrender its beauty, for the holy items, they make me feel happy! I don't subscribe to any particular faith, but these small beautiful items are things I like to place around my personal space. and seashells! anytime I have the opportunity to go to the beach, ill always search for seashells, I have beautiful spiraling shells, pieces of coral, shells with barnacles and growths on it, and pieces of bone or animal shell I always love to look at. for me, these items I collect bring me closer to nature, and encourages me to go out and continue to look to add to my collection. I love my crystals the most, they're so beautiful and feels almost meditative to look deeply and appreciate all the impurities, cracks, and holes they have. I never realized this was a hobby of mine, but I really do love it!
i collect cds, playbills (from shows, plays, and ballets i've attended), vhs tapes, and i think this could count: photography :) i've been taking photos on disposables for 5 years and have filled up quite the many photo album! :D
While I was deep in thought that I should learn the Skating because I have been wanting to learn it for two years, this video came to me.

One of my favorite hobbies is collecting. I love collecting rocks and crystals. It is kinda expensive but I also like collecting rocks I find outside. One thing I like to do is do some research on the rocks and crystals I have. Currently I’m working on making a notebook with all of my notes. Another hobby I have is coloring. It’s really relaxing. I recommend the Lisa frank coloring books, they are so nostalgic and I love them. Coloring books by Johanna basford are also really nice.

I don't think anyone is scrolling all day that isn't an influencer. We all have jobs or school or lives. We would go do hard things because it's fun. It is far easier to get caught in a hoby (im about three hours into my project and you just came on from thw podcasts I was watching)
a lot of people have part time jobs, not many friends, in highschool, struggling, etc.. i know alot of people have a lot of free time
not many people who are working full time jobs or full time school or maybe even parents but maybe there’s still a whole other demographic :)
I have a decent-sized collection of VHS tapes and DVDs. I love physical media (movies, music, books) and I go out of my way to find ones I don’t have to add to my collection. I think the hobby of collecting means you collect things with the intention of collecting. Having a lot of something just because you have it probably doesn’t count unless you’re buying more lipgloss because you want to have every kind of lipgloss lol

I have deleted tiktok today after seeing the horrors hidden behind it and not wanting to support it anymore. I can't wait to start reading during the day (rather than only at night), getting into painting, learning languages more seriously and basically enjoying my time more than before! My only mistake has been to download cats & soup the game, it is addictive but so cute and relaxing love it!
i literally got excluded from my old friend group because i was seen as boring. then i remembered that i have more than ten hobbies i can count and i'll never be boring to myself.

onto the collecting topic. i collect shells from the beach. each shell is different and unique, i find that shells resemble us sort of. each individual is different and unique, like humans. aside from that, i like shells that have pretty colours. 💗
