Hi Nick 👋. Great reaction to 13 Angelina. Angie just turned 13 when recorded. This is what Nico said about the song, Back in April 2019. "Song for A" is the only song on the album. It is performed by Angelina Jordan, a very young and very talented singer. I needed a bright final for my instrumental album. After the series of cold hell's and Melting itself I longed for a song of a liberated soul, a soul that was set free from suffering. So, I remembered a beautiful poem by Robert Burns and wrote this song especially for Angelina. And she gave a sensual performance. We recorded the instrumental part on Abbey Road. Angelina recorded vocals later in Los Angeles. Angelina is awesome & enigmatic”- Nico Cartosio. Most people think that her voice is something from another world. you do realize Angelina was on Americas Got Talent The Champions . she finished in the top 10 but she was screwed over because she refused to sign a contract with the show. she has a new album coming out soon and her first song from that album has been released with a video. its called " Love Dont Let Me Go". freaking amazing song that Angelina wrote herself !!! she had said all the songs on this album would be originals. cant wait to hear more from the new album !!!

@@jeffreyyenior9757 I'd be interested to learn how you come to that conclusion. That would suggest that Nico Cartosio wrote the song and recorded the melody and sent it to Angelina over two years before he released "Melting" in 2019.

Cartosio wrote this for Angelina; thus the title. The text is a poem from the 1700's by Robert Burns.
The title probably has double meaning, since the song’s character is Annie.

What person at such a tender age could navigate this 18th Century Burns poem wrapped lovingly within the sharps and flats of a melodic cadence so perfectly, absolutely perfectly? Angelina is suited for such things as this - she's able to float and soar with breath, and range, the lows and highs, the pauses and poetry of her voice itself. A song for A was written specifically to be sung by Angelina Jordan, Hince (" The Song For A" = Angelina). If I'm not mistaken I believe Angelina was 12 years of age when this was recorded. It was released April 17, 2019 after she turned 13 in the month of January.
Cartosio, produced an incredible album called melting, all beautiful music, he reserved only one singing piece( that he said, was to be a song of redemption.) He felt Angelina, at ten years old( almost 11, incase someone makes issue) could sing this, Thus " Song for A."
Nick, yes, how can we say it? This performance came out of left field and took us by surprise when we first heard it. If there were any doubts this proves she can sing whatever she chooses to sing. We just listened to an absolute pro handling this new piece of music by Nico Cartosio. Nick, she will NEVER appear on another Talent Show. She's way beyond that.
When I was young and spent time outdoors on meadows at night at home sometimes my I would have a dream that I was in a meadow at night with the full moon floating among clouds and then a voice of a young woman would be singing just like Angelina as in this ethereal song with angels scattered among the stars and humming along from the heavens upon waking up I couldn’t remember the words that were sung or what the singer looked like but after hearing this song she must been Angelina’s angel spirit singing for the world 👨👨👦👨👨👧👦👨👧👦👩👧👧💁🏻♀️

This is a lovely, soothing song and. It could not have been done any better. I have listened to the album Nico released with this song on it. With the exception of this song the album is all instrumental. It’s pleasant listen, and when this comes on it’s quite the treat.
The instrumental was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, with Angelina recording the vocal in LA. She certainly connect to the music and gave us this magically smooth rendition. Somehow I feel that the word versatile does not go far enough in describing her range of talent...

Since the album this was on (Nico's) was released in mid-April 2019, I think we can be reasonably certain that she sang it when she was still 12. (Even if it was the last thing recorded for the album, which it may well have been, 3 months from recording to album release is probably an impossibly short turnaround time.)

She's with Republic Records and from what I've read and because of mainly her parents setting up conditions before signing, I think she is in very good hands and is well supported by many.
She signed with Republic Records of UMG 3 years ago & she is still there.

Facts can be loathsome creatures to the misinformed. She contracted with Republic in the fall of 2020, and is still with them.
