How do you open it without the magnetic key. Just drop it , only reason to do so is you don't want any more trash ( the box ) to throw away.
The highly reinforced 1/8” plywood and finish nail hinge should hold up.

This is actually quite ingenious. No robber would think anyone is dumb enough to store anything of value in that thing.

Well the idea its decent to say the least but it would be preferable to just buy a safe even a cheap one it's like 50 bucks and it's a lot better than that box, and its its about the it being a secret storage, for fuck sake i can make one just by opening a plank in my floor and putting it back every time

The nice thing about this box is that it doubles as a finger puppet stage!! And who doesn't love finger puppets??
The magnetic lock should only work by lifting the latch off a stop. Over time gravity will overcome the pivot friction and pull the latch down and the door will spring open as if by magic.
Ok, you've made such a lock, and afterwards the thief came and turned it over, so the latch felt anyway

Thanks to the lock being held in place by tension thanks to the spring, all you had to do was push the door and it would fall down. Make a plate under the lock so it cannot fall down, and lift instead, problem solved.

It's not smashable and it's Fireproof. I would definitely store my valuables in this box.
