  • Easy, fast and organic way to clean your shower faucets without scrubbing using only white vinegar and DAWN dish soap!
    To purchase the white vinegar I'm using: amzn.to/2bMVdQY
    To purchase the DAWN I'm using: amzn.to/2bEVoKA
    To purchase a good buy on 3 spray bottles: amzn.to/2bEUPRj
    In this video I will show you how to easily clean and remove hard water & soap scum stains in your shower and bathroom without scrubbing, using this homemade cleaner.
    1. Pour 1 cup of white vinegar in a plastic spray bottle
    2. Add 1 tbsp of Dawn dish wash soap
    3. Heat it up for 1 minute (no need to shake it)
    4. Put the sprayer on
    5. Spray generous amount on the desired surface
    6. Let sit for 15 minutes
    7. Rinse with water, spray again, and rinse one final time
    There is no need to scrub if you clean your shower every week. But,
    if there are tough spots of hard water or soap scum, consider using brush or sponge and let the cleaner sit longer.
    You can use this cleaner for shower heads, faucets, glass shower doors, bath tubs, toilet bowls and granite.

    • @AnOldSchoolHome
      @AnOldSchoolHome  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi Howard! ...I am not sure how the bronze will react with the vinegar... If you can do a test on a very small area with just a drop of vinegar and wait for 15 minutes to see what happens, that would be best. I've only used it on the fixture in the video.

      @AnOldSchoolHome  Před 5 lety +1

      COLLEEN CHENG hi, you can use the same method on the floor, but after you spry it, you have to let the solution sit longer. And you will have to do a bit of a scrubbing as well.

    • @AnOldSchoolHome
      @AnOldSchoolHome  Před 7 lety +3

      Hello, yes you can - you may need to do some scrubbing on the walls,
      especially underneath where you keep the soap. I so far have used it
      for almost everything in the house - sink, toilet (just vinegar, no dish
      soap), counters, bathroom sinks. Be careful if you are using it on
      metal as I have never done that because of the vinegar. Good luck! Thank
      you for watching! Sasha

    • @AnOldSchoolHome
      @AnOldSchoolHome  Před 7 lety +2

      Hello Benjie, it seems to be working much better when it's heated. And if you do not have microwave, you can heat up the vinegar only on the stove and then add the soap (it will bubble up if you heat the soap on the stove). I hope this helps :) Thank you for watching! Best, Sasha

    The real question is, does the hard water stain come back after the cleaning? Is there something on the market that actually prevents the hard water stain buildup? This has been the best simplistic cleaning video I have seen so far.

    • @AnOldSchoolHome
      @AnOldSchoolHome  Před 7 lety +1

      Hello Mike, usually there are no spots left after I clean with this solution but I do it every week. If there are tough stains, you can try rubbing them with half of lemon. As far as the stains not building up again, I am hot sure. But you gave me a great idea for a new experiment and a new video :) I will try it right now and will keep you posted if it kept the stains from reappearing. Thank you so much for your compliment and thank you for taking the time to comment! Best, Sasha

      Try the Rainex water repellent meant for car windshields. I've found it protects against hard water stains on glossy tile and glass shower doors.. even fixtures and tubs do really well with a quick coat after they're scrubbed clean. It usually lasts a few months.
