We borrowed and spent living the good life/high standard of living
That is what you folks don’t get… we are broke. Azzzzzz…. Canadians who can’t pay our debts sitting on 2 trillion in Provincial/Federal debt these days
Debt we really started running up in the 1940s.
Sow dem gud ole dais ye pine fer?
we didn’t pay for the first time around
Which we just kicked this debt down the road for future generations to pay for
Problem is, we stopped meeting “natural” population replacement rates in 1971
And we have around 1000 boomers turning 65 each and everyday in Canada (That started in 2011 won’t end until 2028) By 2036 we will have around 11 million Canadian seniors
As by 2032 immigration will make up 100% of our population growth
So we pack in the immigrants the poor ones to make our french fries and more importantly flip us over in bed in the old age home
The rich ones to come support the economy and prop up the real estate
Because most of these boomers are also personally cash poor/in debt
      But luckily….most of these boomers????

      sell if they have to
Which they should not .. … as that home will be one their own personal old age home in the future unless you can show me some links…
on our building/buying enough facilities to house millions of Canadian seniors in the next decade
Yes it’s one big Ponzi scheme that scr (ew) over the younger folks but we don’t want to crash our Ponzi Scheme of economy.

or trying to sail a boat to some distant country for a better life wind up washed ashore on a beach
Or grandmami/grandpapi begging on the street because that nest egg home they have they can’t sell off or afford to live in
So the people at the bottom of our society lose out…. or we all do
Don’t like packing in these immigrants/people as the solution?
Let’s hear you folks say “I demand to pay more taxes” and “I demand less social services in return”
Or let’s sell 25 year 50 year forward contracts on our natural resources some foreign corporation or Country can come into mine. Using our young as cheap labour
Or let’s be known as the deadbeat generation who had to resort to selling off pieces of Canada
Plus since we stopped replacing ourselves.
It will be more and more likely the great great great grandkids of these new immigrants stuck paying off the debts we run up long after we are gone… As we stick them with the bill

I'm irish-finnish and my ancestors came here from a combination of 1900-1948 and they were very hard-working people and made an effort to put everything into trying to fit into the older canadian society, so I respect them. Sometimes they weren't treated well and were disrespected but they tried so hard to make an impact in our country, even if it might've costed them their lives. I respect anyone who comes to Canada and tries their best to be a hard worker and integrate. However I don't respect anybody who comes here and doesn't try to fit in and leech off being a student. You never enter somebody's home and claim it's your own.

I'll tell you the Indian's secret to how they mass migrated so easy. ( I don't mean this in any sort of negative way. ) This was told to me by a friend I work with who's entire family came to Canada from India. So what his family did and many, many others did was... In India they all pool all there $ to 1 family member, that family member gets his full citizenship to Canada then moves here. Soon as possible he will buy a business, then they start brining family members over 1 by 1 through work visas and they all work on getting there citizenships, they all work together and purchase a house. Once they get that house, one family member stays there and the rest buy another and they all work to pay it off, then just keep repeating until all the family members have there own house. meanwhile they are all still working together at there business and start bringing close friends from India via work visas then it all just repeats over and over.

Shockingly by some engineered miracle the last few decades 😉!!!!! own a 40 year old plus never been renovated, overpriced home some immigrant is willing to overpay for.
Which these boomers can get lines of credit on or reverse mortgage on or
      sell if they have to
Which they should not ..
(I have purposely gone to live in countries and among the locals living on a dollar a day wages in comparison to our dollar. You think your life su…cks these days)
Try having 50k of someone else’s currency worth 2 million of our Canadian dollars
Or have what kids you and I did actually have…
Having to sell their wares to Russian sailors for a 500 CDN dollar loaf of bread
or trying to sail a boat to some distant country for a better life wind up washed ashore on a beach
But since we have been sel fish our whole lives living that good life let’s “now” complain about the solutions after decades and decades of this
Our being broke… azzz Canadians who couldn’t replace ourselves

I'm tired hearing the Indian accent in whatever language they speak everytime i pass someone on the street ... everyone is from India ... what backdoor deal was reached with our politicians ? why was Harper trying to get free trade with India right before he knew he was going to lose the election ? how is freetrade good for jobs in Canada ? it isn't ... You know, I have to wonder. Are overpopulated placed off loading its citizens to a country like Canada because of sparse population. Sometimes I wonder if the United Nations is playing a "redistribution of people" program to alleviate India and Pakistan's population burden. Canada, is a target country by the UN to load up on overpopulated countries.
The problem being with Canada. Our land mass, quite large is size, is lousy on farmable land for food. Look folks, there is a reason why nobody pretty much opened up the land for civilization North of Parry Sound, Thunder Bay, etc. Canada was described as being a Country 250 miles north of the US Border but 4000 miles east and west.
Our country sucks aside for a few mining camps and lumber resources. You can't grow scrub as you went north. It's why you only see pine trees and rock cuts.
As for immigration. We had a workable immigration policy. It was even crafted well by a liberal PM, Laurier. It worked for the longest time. Now, it had its limitations which Milton Friedman described. No country with a Social Benefits providing federal government can have OPEN BORDER immigration, if that country wants to finance its welfare system. Friedman was spot on. Laurier's national immigration policy said that all new incoming potential people. Don't be a burden on the welfare of the nation. Don't cause criminality. You can believe in whatever religion you wish to believe or not believe. But don't push it on your neighbor. If you come to Canada, we have two, only two official languages in Canada, one is French, and one is English. Nobody says you can't speak your mother tongue. You can speak you mother tongue, but if you go into public and wish public discussion. You are obliged to use one of the two official languages.
Milton Friedman also said of any country with a Social Contract with its citizens. If the country provides benefits, the country has the right to choose whom can come in on merit of necessity.
Meaning Canada, for example doesn't need 100,000 foreign or a Million long haul truck drivers. When the necessity might be a science teacher with applicable qualifications to fill that vacancy of necessity.
In other words, Canada doesn't need unemployed unskilled people from other nations competing for unskilled labor jobs in Canada. When we have unskilled labor available right here right now needing a job to get off of Canada's welfare system.
So, why on earth, are the Canadian Coalition Governments permitting in so many out of country people and illegal entry people?
Only one reason -- demographics. Leftist Researchers have studied the groups coming in. They overwhelmingly vote either Liberal or Socialist NDP.
Nobody votes out the hand that feeds them.
So if you see an uptick on countries flooding into Canada. It ain't for our Hockey history, or the weekend Blue Jays Games. It's for what they can get out of your coalition government handouts.
We are a Country of Convenience.

I believe it was because a way much generous migration policies at that moment. Canada needed people and had good affordability. Things are different now. Chinese people are not willing to come. They prefer their home or go to the south.

Au Québec spécifiquement. Le Canada et le Québec ont des populations immigrantes distinctes. Mais comme le Québec n'est toujours pas un pays cette réalité est effacée quand on parle du Canada.
      Le Québec a 1. France 2. Chine 3. Algérie 4. Maroc 5. Haïti
