what's so weird is that the movie kind of spits on the face of the torture porn genre. most movies of that style understand that the audience want to enjoy how fucked up it is, like being mesmerized by a Plane Crash. think of the human centipede. that movie is fully aware that you're watching cause it's gross and you secretly enjoy Your Own disgust. but this movie... it's not torture porn, it's just torture. its the worst thing you've ever seen and you're not grossed out and exhilarated after you watch, you want to forget it as soon as you've seen it. don't watch this movie. and it's not even like a lure to get you to see it. don't fucking watch this movie. the writer wrote it when he was suicidal. it feels like being plunged into his mindset. you'll be hopeless for days. don't do it man.

The depiction of Kali in "Indiana Jones" is actually highly inaccurate. According to the legend, she was born from the brow of Devi as a warrior goddess to fight Raktabija, the Demon King and his forces. Although her bloodlust nearly got out of control afterwards, she continued to act as a guardian against evil forces in Hindu mythology. Furthermore, Shiva was not her enemy, but her consort, and is reputed to be the only one who could calm her down.

Actually it was original version of Red Dawn that was the first film to get the PG-13 rating, 3 months after Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was released. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was rated PG. It was due to the graphic nature of both Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Gremlins (also PG) that the PG-13 rating was created in July 1984, 2 months after the release of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Here's some fun fact...the "fictional" Summer Isle in The Wicker man is actually the island of Somersby off the coast of Cornwall, where they make Somersby cider, and the rituals in the original version are based on the religious practices of the Celts as recorded by Julius Caesar and other writers of Classical antiquity, and are somewhat more accurately represented than the Thuggee rituals in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The only good thing about the remake is that it has Nicholas Cage.

Five Points Trinity is probably my favorite, for the unique blend of Waco and Westboro.

That Thugee ceremony gave me the worst anxiety as a kid equal to the xenomorph birth in Alien

Missed the masked cult in Kubrick's "Eye's Wide Shut"(1999) or the Santeria cult in the film titled The Believers (1987) I particularly like, the Book People from Fahrenheit 451 (1966)

You cannot deny the horror of the cult of the 70's horror movie "Race With The Devil". The Peter Fonda movie had a lot of action and creepiness, like witchcraft from the satanists who were chasing them. Also, the cult members of "The Devil's Rain", another 70's horror movie, was pretty creepy in it's own right. They did not have eyes, and melted when it rained. Ernest Borgnine was sooo evil as the devil! Very eerie movie that caused me nightmares as a kid!

Seeing the cult from Silent Hill makes me sick bc I remember when Christabella was killed. I almost vomited and I couldn't finish watching it...god it was brutal.
